Baklava is a confectionary that likely originated in Turkey but become popular with its neighbors. As Astoria is a predominately Greek neighborhood in Queens, the is one of the shops that came up on Yelp that makes baklava. When I entered, there were two customers before me. There were mini baklavas that are sold by weight while the larger ones are sold by piece. I chose the Nutella almond baklava and the chocolate walnut baklava.Upon paying, another party of a young father and toddler son entered. The son was excited about the sweets the store has to offer. I was able to get a discount by paying in cash.

Where to begin? I've known of Yaya's forever being a lifelong Astoria resident but only recently ventured in. What have I been waiting for? Melomakarona - one of the best I've ever had. Moist. Delicious. A must buy. Kataifi - To die for! A nice size slice that you can share generously for 2.Bread - Really delicious.Rice pudding. - On par with the best I've ever had.Definitely stroll in and treat yourself to a little bit of this and a little bit of that. All so good!

Great spanokopita and walnut baklava. Customer service was wonderful. She was very helpful and patient when I asked her what was each bakery item. Definitely will come back again.

Wow! So many vegan options that I couldn't try them all in one visit. I tried the walnut and pistachio baklava, which were both perfect. Flaky layers with soft sweet filling - amazing!! Can't wait to go back and try the many other options, like vegan croissants and housemade halva!!

Nice unassuming Greek bakery. I ordered a Greek pizza (small) and eclairs. The pizza was good. The eclairs were very good. Late at night, the displays were not empty, which is a very good sign. I paid $15.00. All the staff were friendly. That's a very good sign. I will be back

Got the chocolate chip cookie and it's delicious! Chocolate is literally oozing and the cookie has a soft texture. Just a small little bakery that you can easily pass by if you aren't paying attention but it's worth the stop if you're in the mood for a sweet treat!

This is a gem!! What an amazing and delicious bakery. They have tons of authentic Greek bakes and gorgeous desserts and pastries as well. They blew me away. I love how they made me feel so welcome when I told the owner I traveled from Bay Ridge Brooklyn just to try their delicacies. She was so warm and generous! I will definitely comeback very soon and I hope everyone in the city makes this beautiful bakery a hot spot!! They deserve it!

Cute place. You step in and you hear someone shouting at someone else. Very homey. There's a cash discount too. I got tiramisu and a chocolate baklava. The tiramisu isn't fluffy but more cake like. Still good though. The chocolate baklava was too sweet for me personally so I wouldn't get that again. Will come back another time to check out their other stuff.

This place is as authentic as it gets for traditional Greek pastries and baked goods. Should be the first stop in Astoria for anyone in the neighborhood. Spanakopita to die for ....wood burning oven really changes everything

Great little spot. Staff has been friendly every time I've gone. Large variety of baked goods. Just the right level of sweetness for a lot of the pastries and treats. I enjoyed every item I've tried so far including the sweet and savory. My favorite are the eclairs - they're absolutely delicious.

Delicious pastries and friendly customer service. Tasty savoy flaky pastries that were spinach and potato filled. Would return again.

Best bakery in Astoria. Fresh Greek and Albanian baked goods. Some different savory items like cheese pies and olive bread. Been coming here for years. If you have questions about the food, the staff is helpful.

Delicious baklava but the lady behind the counter never weighs your pastries so I wonder if I'm getting ripped off. Every other bakery prints out the sticker from the scale that tells you how much you're being charged per pound --- not Yaya's which is strange ...
