Very nice place with great customer service, also they have a huge variety of things for everyone and if you want something brought to the store all you have to do is ask the manager and he'll bring it within the week

I don't like to leave bad reviews, but I couldn't find an option to message the business owner. Be careful when you buy produce here, especially organic ones. I bought organic broccoli and there were bugs in between the buds of it. I didn't take a photo of it, because I literally threw it out of my hands due to fear. Today, I went to buy ginger. Most of their ginger was pink because it had gone bad, so I choose one that didn't look as bad as the other, unfortunately, it was still not good. The meat is also something I tend not to buy from here. I'm very skeptical when it comes to this. They can benefit if they check their produce, and add more organic items that are not so pricy or expired. I do like their turkey sandwiches, and they do sell a variety of options. I would love to see them improve.

In general, this place is way too expensive and many of the cashiers have a bad attitude. However, the last time I visited here, I brought a manufacturer's coupon for ice cream that I printed from my email. When I went to use it at the register, the manager told the cashier that the coupon could not be accepted because it was "not shiny". Literally, that's what he said. I'm not sure what that means, but I'm guessing he thought it was fake because it was printed on computer paper (instead of that paper that coupons are made out of when you get them in the mail)???!!! Does he not realize that nowadays, companies email coupons to customers?! For now, I'm sticking with CTown on 24th Avenue.

I have no idea how this place stays in business other than there isn't anything else. Now there is a Lidl, it's worth walking far away from Cherry Valley. Queens is not really known for nice grocery stores. No Fairway, no Wegmans, no Whole Foods. There are always boxes blocking the merchandise in the already small aisles. The staff is surly and there's no wifi. The prices are high and the selection is small. I'd rather do without anything they have than to give them a dollar. Be sure to take a look around back before you go in and then head someplace else. You're welcome.

I want to love this market. It's two blocks away. When Best Market closed, I started shopping here more but then I notice incredibly high prices on basic dairy and one time I picked up a pound of hamburger meat which was marked $12. So offensive to take advantage of our neighborhood like that. Shame!

Just went in to pick up a few things. Saw two workers restocking shelves with masks pulled down under their chins. Customer who knew worker was talking with mask completely down. Won't be returning.

Went back and was shocked to see the check out stations are not at all spaced. The cashier behind me literally bumped asses with me as I checking out online. This is a distancing violationnboard of heslth take note.

Since Covid-19 started, they've only obnoxiously raised the prices FOR SURE. Just look at the receipts! I am not happy in the slightest to support a local business that's basically taking advantage. It's the only supermarket in the area, but without a doubt it's overall subpar, at best. No fresh produce, EVER. Like berries or a freaking ripe avocado! Fresh baked bread? Forget it. Better settle for the Arnold "whole wheat" or white sliced bread only. I wouldn't touch the "hot food bar" if my life depended on it and the meat never looks fresh. I've never bought deli meats or anything else from the deli either. Get ready for friendly cashiers (they are trying, and I do appreciate that), but aside from that, the help in locating a specific item is always minimal, and the music always BLARES through the speakers all over the supermarket! No gourmet items, not a single specialty item; if you're ever looking to make a fancy dish and are in need of a particular ingredient, don't hold your breath finding it here. I wish I could say better things but I was so incredibly put off by their price hike that I'm left with nothing positive to say! OH, AND watch the prices overall as your items get scanned - many a time they've come up the wrong price. So if you care to drop about $100 on juice, fizzy water and TOMATOES ON THE VINE ($5 per pound -- GTFO here!), then by all means, come to CHERRY!

Love this place. Quality product, great music, and great customer service! Had an issue where we were accidentally over charged and didn't notice it until checking the receipt later, the manager fixed the problem swiftly and well.

Do NOT get meat here! Especially hamburger. Rancid! They aren't busy enough where there is enough turn over of the food. Prices aren't much better than Key Food either.

This place can be a godsend for certain things, but make sure you check the dates on the meat. This isn't the owners fault, but a lazy employee. I talked to the owner (or manager?) before and he was very kind. That being said, most of the employees try to keep everything in stock and are friendly and helpful, though once I asked for neosporin or antiseptic for a cut and just got a blank stare. There is a coffee stand, and I really love their ice coffee. The Woman who works there is sweet to everyone that comes in. One thing I don't appreciate however is last time I was in there with my husband, we were searching for light bulbs. They weren't in the aisle where the sign stated, so I asked an employee who said they were in the dairy/juice aisle on a high shelf. I walked an aisle over and am glad my husband was near, because I couldn't reach. Then we hear the employee yell "GRINGO!! Gringo! Gringo!!" What the hell was that? I don't like that word (as it can be pretty derogatory) or how he said it. If you want to be rude to me, when I give you my business and try to make me feel like an outsider when I was born and raised in Queens? No thanks. I don't think I want to shop here anymore. I worked retail/customer service for a long time, and you should treat everyone with respect, even if they are another culture than you are. Also, thanks to my Puerto Rican stepdad I've had my whole life, I do understand some words and insults, even if I may not be fluent.

This used to be my neighborhood supermarket until I moved a bit further down in Astoria, it's still priced pretty much the same way it was when I frequently shopped here 5-6 years ago - most items are a little bit more expensive than Keyfood, some grocery stuff is less, but fresh goods are more expensive. One thing I noticed that knocked off a star for me is that they insist on using the VERY TOP SHELF in every aisle as an actual sales shelf. Price tags (which can't be seen) and everything, even though it's 10 feet up, no joke. That means if you want anything on that top shelf, you've gotta find someone to help you get it down (good luck with that). Lower shelves had multiple facings of the same product. I've never been in a supermarket that puts stuff actually for sale on the very top shelf, out of people's reach. I wanted to buy something but wasn't gonna try and track someone down to get it. Make the stuff you're selling is actually accessible to shoppers!

Their prices are about $1+ than what you'll find at Key Foods. As a previous poster said, don't trust the meat. Fruits and vegetables are fine, but the times I've checked on the meat, it's either expired or leaking liquids. They keep the store really clean, and the selection for Mexican cuisine is great. The frozen section is sparse though. Keep away from the meats and deli section and you'll be fine.
