Tried calling all week, no answer voice-mail full unable to leave a message. Emailed them under customer service - no response. Wanted to make a reservation for Easter. Now today they are sold out, seriously not impressed.

Recently attended this place for the third time Everytime I have attended banquet service is horribly rushed the servers always rush the guest through the appetizers, main dish, and desserts always circling the tables constantly in the way, I didn't want to write a review because overall the place is lovely, but the very last time I attended one of the servers began to remove napkins, centerpieces ? and water while we are all still sitting there I guess in a way to tell us to get the hell OUT ..... I understand stand they probably would like to start setup for the next event but we definitely paid for the time we spent there... I overheard one of the young gentleman saying that he was to embarrassed to remove things from the table and HE IS COMPLETELY correct they all should be , that gentleman should be the manager of the banquet I'm sure things would run much more respectfully

We attempted to have dinner here on Wednesday evening, December 20th with a party of 5. As a tradition, we like to get a little dressed up and have a nice holiday meal before Christmas. We had heard from some friends about the festive decor and as someone who works in Architecture and historical renovations, I was all in. My wife booked the dinner nearly 2 months ago. Our reservation was at 6:30pm and we arrived at 6:33. The hostess had to get our table cleaned up so we took the opportunity to get some pictures by the decorated fireplace & Christmas tree. We were sat by 6:40 in a smaller dining room off of the bar. It appeared that there was a booked party taking up the main dining room, and the bar was pretty full with a live musician playing. There were 5 other tables in the room. We waited patiently to be greeted.....a greeting which NEVER came. It appeared that there were 2 wait staff working this room, a shorter gentleman probably in his 50's and a young lady with longer hair. A table of 2 was sat probably 5 minutes after we were, and they were promptly greeted. At that point I figured that the other server must have been ours, and that they were busy handling something else. We patiently waited. In the meantime, the two servers carried out their other tasks for the other 4 tables in the room, bussing tables, offering refills on drinks, discussing dessert options, even having casual conversations with the patrons. Oblivious to the recent table of 5. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we were getting frustrated. I could see the look on my wife's face, and the kids were starting to get antsy and wondering when they could order their "Shirley Temple's". I was directing my glances towards the servers in the hopes that they would notice us and begin our dinner service. I urged patience, saying that they had to be coming soon. After a few more minutes, I told her that if get to the 30-minute mark and no one had greeted us, that we were leaving. Sure enough, that 30 minutes came and went. We stood up and got back into our coats. It had been 40 minutes. My wife was visibly upset, so I urged her to take the kids back to the car while I spoke to someone. The female waitress was at the hostess stand as we passed and we began to voice our frustrations, my wife becoming emotion due to the complete letdown of a greatly anticipated holiday dinner. I explained that we had been waiting about 40 minutes, with no greeting of any sort from her or her coworker.....all while they attentively served the 4 other tables in the room. She asked if I would like to speak with the manager, which yes; I very much wanted to express my displeasure. It took another 5 minutes for the manager to make it there as the server was having trouble locating her. I explained our experience and she was apologetic, explaining that there must have been some confusion as to whose table it was. I worked my way through college as a server for several years. In larger restaurants than this. Fine dining & casual. I understand the nuances of working on a busy night. However, the way we were treated, or should I say completely ignored is absolutely inexcusable. The manager offered to comp our meal if we would come back in. I thanked her for here offer. I was about 99% sure that my wife would NOT be coming back into that restaurant. It wasn't at all about the $$, it was about the experience. We would've easily dropped $300-400....as we had already planned our wine selections, several appetizers, surf and turf dinners, and the kids were already talking dessert. I knew that my wife was very upset (understandably so) and I went back to the car to try and console her as best I could. As expected, she did not want to take up the manager on the offer. So now we are a hungry party of 5, out in Avon at nearly 8pm......wondering where we could go for dinner. I know the one place that I WON'T be recommending in the future.....The Avon Inn! I would much rather give a good review than a bad one.....but you earned this one 110%.

Parking is horrible. Chowder was great. They were out of the dinner that 5 of us were planning on ordering (if it's that popular you would think they'd have more, especially on a weekend). Main course was ok. Dessert was phenomenal. Private room for our party was tastefully decorated. Service was good. Water was empty without refilling. Would go again.

I was so pleasantly surprised when we got to the Inn! My parents and I had two rooms for four days and three nights. They had dinner one evening and said it was delicious. The rooms are super quaint. The beds are comfy. The whole place is absolutely spotless, which is difficult for an old historic building. My dad and I were saying they must clean it with a toothbrush! The attention to detail is obvious. There's a pool table in the lobby. The continental breakfast is small but it's so much better than the ones you find at hotel chains where you know they all use the same vendors. The little blueberry scones were the best I ever had. I took some for the road! They had fresh muffins too, warm from the oven. Then there's coffee, juice, cereal, bagels and English muffins. The staff was fantastic, very pleasant and easy to chat with. Absolutely recommend.

Attended a rehearsal dinner there last weekend. Very nice atmosphere and professional staff. However the food did not meet expectations. Between the dry burnt chicken parm, lasagna with pasty noodleless meat/cheese consistency, frozen sausage and meatballs that were obviously store bought and had little sauce it was a great disappointment. However, the dessert trays were very nice.

We had our wedding at the Avon Inn and had such an amazing experience! Jen, Chef Dave, Ashley, and the rest of the staff were so helpful, accommodating, and friendly. The venue was timeless, classic, and beautiful. Guests truly raved about the food. We cannot wait to go back for dinner sometime! We will also be going back to stay overnight at some point! The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. If you are looking for an all-inclusive wedding venue, I highly recommend the Avon Inn!
