Shockingly Unprofessional Management at HomeGoods Mohegan Lake
I had an absolutely infuriating experience at HomeGoods in Mohegan Lake thanks to the appallingly unprofessional behavior of the store manager a female woman of Asian decent. I tried to return a brand new item—with all original tickets attached and receipt. Instead of addressing my concern reasonably, this manager blatantly refused my return, insisting it was “illegal” to resell the item because the tag was coming off. Her excuse was absurd, but what made matters worse was her dismissive, condescending attitude. Despite several onlookers witnessing the situation and sharing my frustration, she remained stubborn and unapologetically rude. I left the store feeling utterly disrespected by someone who clearly lacks any sense of proper customer service. HomeGoods seriously needs to re-evaluate how they train their management—this level of incompetence is unacceptable- And if what she said is true, they need to train their employees to remove items that cannot be returned from the shelves. Decent selection but they charge a ridiculous amount of money for low quality items. Most things that are for sale in this store as well as Marshall's can be found at other establishments for much less.

I haven’t been to HomeGoods in years since they closed the location in Mahopac. I stopped in on a whim today and was thoroughly impressed with the size of the store, the general organization, and just the sheer amount of selection.HomeGoods is a wonderful store to add some personality to your home. They have items that are unique enough and represent various aesthetics, but won’t go out of style soon. And it’s also great to see some of your more “basic” items (kitchenware, towels, etc) at lower costs than your average retailer.If you’re in the area on a lazy Sunday, stop in and do some window (or real) shopping—you’ll kill time and have a blast!
