TRASH company. don't recommend anyone working here. Poor management, scheduling department is a complete disaster. The owner is fake and they treat their employees like trash. Don't bother wasting your time here.

They can careless about the employees they only care about filling a shift & very unorganized with that! I had 40 hours got took off the schedule because i had appointments that i been mentioned to Jessica that was never reported! Got took completely off the schedule so i call for hours always get voicemail & when she did give me a fill in shift another aide showed up lol just unprofessional at all time high & here it is 2 weeks & still no hours or no calls apologize for the inconvenience! This company is just like all metro if you know what I mean be aware to all the aides this is not a job you can depend on go elsewhere! Is not dependable, and if you have bills, this is not a job you can fall back on! I advise you to work with another scheduler, besides Jessica!

Office staff is incredibly kind, supportive and team-oriented. I’ve never experienced a time when I was not offered support or guidance when needed. Management is involved in ensuring the success of the company and the success of its employees and provide hands on support like no other place I’ve seen. It’s extraordinary to see our compassionate board members assisting and taking on projects side by side with their employees and not what you’ll experience with larger companies. Even during the toughest times with the pandemic I’ve always felt support from my teammates and management. Grateful for the experience.

Some reliable second-hand info for you, dear readers: Self Direct’s workplace culture is as toxic as it gets. Chornobyl level toxic. Batsh*t, petty tyrant “leadership” with all the classic signs of imminent-but-somehow-never-occurring self-implosion: gaslighting, retaliation, guilt trips, cultish in- and out-crowd bullying. Super fun times. Except not. If you’re smart, you’ll Direct your Self as far away from this company as possible.

Stay away they don't care about the clients heck they barely care for their workers all the care about it getting their money from the insurances! bill insurance $38+ for aide service then only pay the aid $11 aides dont work or show and can you blame them for that price. this company could care less if a aide ever shows up for you and by the grace of god you get a good aide who does show they will Harrass that aide as much as they can trying to get them to take on other clients or try to make them as miserable as they can calling/emailing/texting them during their shifts. do not hire them and def do not work for them

We used Self Direct for my mothers home care for over 3 years. The aides they sent to help us were wonderful. My mother never thought of them as workers but as family. They treated her the same way. There was never a time that we were afraid to leave my mother with one of their employees.The nursing staff was very responsive and attentive to my mother.The schedulers knew us so well that we considered them friends.I hope they read this review, so many times people only complain, never praise these essential workers that went above and beyond for my mother right up until the time she passed awayI thank you for the entire Testa family. We would have been lost without you.

I worked for self direct for 2 months they was unprofessional unorganized and they HR staff are liars. April is rude as hell and dont care about her staff the way she tries to act like she does. They take advantage of the aides. I was fired after being lied on by staff stating my physical was missing things that wasnt then there'sy sent me a papers in the mail stating i abandoned my job after not being able to get in contact with my doctor to fix the physical that they claimed was messed up. It was just a horrible experience i dont recommend the services to anyone they wouldnt take care of my sick elderly parent or grandparent.

This office is horrible. The owner does nothing but yell and complain about everyone including her family who works there. I would say Pat treats family better but it is far from the truth. She pays them more so that's probably the reason. Caring and compassion is required in this industry and she lacks both.

I have worked with Self-Direct, Inc. as the HR Manager for over a year. Its a family business that provides services to people in need. I work with a great staff. Management cares about their employees, recognizes value and looks after them. There are many opportunities for growth in the company. It is truly a pleasure working at SDI.

I am impressed with the company and how welcoming everyone is. Any time I walk through the front door, the front desk receptionist has a smile on her face and says “hello”. When you see any of the employees in the building, they are always smiling and happily greet you. Self Direct treats their employees with respect and listens to what they have to say.

Following my brothers accident (at the age of 38) in which he sustained a severe Traumatic Brain Injury, I wanted to do everything that I could to keep him out of a Nursing Home. Self Direct made that possible. The service coordinators (I worked with two different ones over the years) were very helpful in guiding us through the many difficult processes that we had to deal with on a frequent basis not to mention that they were kind, caring and extremely compassionate. The day program was stimulating and provided my brother an opportunity to socialize with others. When he was not at the Day Program, Self Direct staffed healthcare aides in his home around the clock. My brother passed away on October 11, 18 years after his accident. I want to thank all of the dedicated individuals at Self Direct for helping me navigate the complicated TBI system over the years and more importantly for providing my brother with the opportunity to be able to live in his own home.
