I've been a patient with Burnt Hills Internal Medicine for over 20 years. I have recently have had some issues with the office staff, they have been difficult and rude and seem to be committed to misunderstanding you.

Front desk staff was extremely rude. I called to ask a question and the woman who answered the phone was almost screaming at me. Terrible customer service.

This is one of the most rudest, unfriendly, unprofessional doctors office I’ve ever been to. Has absolutely no care for real life situations and talks about your business in front of other patients.

We have been with this office for the past 14 years (I think!) and have never had a unpleasurable experience. We see Dr Hickey and Dr Nicholson and each has spent a good amount of time answering our questions and giving our entire family a checkup. I never feel rushed and I make sure I have a list of questions for them already written up, so we don't waste their time later.

I would like to start off by saying that I have never had an issue with Burnt Hills Pediatrics. I have been a patient with them since I was in school. However, I had the unfortunate pleasure of going to their office 2 times in 2 weeks. 1st appointment, I waiting in the waiting room for some time. Them was brought back to a room, once in there I was waiting for 30 mins or so to see the doctor. Meanwhile, listening to people talking, is the DR actually here or did they leave? At that point I was already getting restless waiting to see the DR. Who did show up moments before I was ready to leave. 2nd appt, the DR I was assigned, came in for literally 3 minutes, asked a couple questions, gave me a prescription stated if it doesn't work call, then left the room. Like am I good to go... do I need to stay here...just plan walked out the door. The face to face patient contact I was not so impressed with, I found her to be rude, snippy and a bit judgmental.

Dr. Ennis is one of the kindest practitioners I have ever been to. She listens so well and was never judgemental. Front desk staff is so sweet. Would recommend this office to anyone!

I was a patient here for a while 2 months, made both of my appointments was referred to a cardiologist and dealing with a few cardiac issues. This office called me and left me a few voicemails but I didn’t have time to deal with it as I am a single mother dealing with cardiac issues. Received a letter yesterday they are discharging me for no reason other thenI didn’t call them back.
Heartless and spineless.
Sincerely,
Katy Ballas
Ps I will also be pulling my children out of this practice as they have been patients here for three and four years.

Update: Was attempted to be charged a fee for not showing up to my appt ($50) last week even though I was there. Reminded the same receptionist of her error. Hopefully, it is off my account now. Got my blood work back yesterday morning @10am, and still have not been called about the results. Even though one of my levels was shown as critically low!! Tried to have them fax over my results to my psychiatrist and was told them wouldn’t until the nurse talks to me about my results. Makes absolutely no sense.I’m not gonna lie. I normally don’t write reviews and up till recently have not had an issue with this practice. I was scheduled for an appt last month and had to take the day off of work for it, was called within an hour of my appt the next day saying I had to reschedule. Come my appt a month later (today), I show up on time, had the front desk lady take a copy of my insurance card and told to wait for my name to be called. An HOUR passed and I was still waiting to be called back for my appt. I was assuming maybe they’re just busy. Eventually, I went up to the front desk to see how much longer it will be, as I was in between shifts with my patients. I get told that she NEVER actually clicked the button saying I was in the waiting room. I get told sorry, and that I will have to reschedule again. After already being rescheduled from over a month ago. Like how do you not notice a patient sitting in your waiting room for an hour? I understand there is human error, but after already waiting over a month to be seen for low iron levels is aggravating especially when I have other medical issues that get affected by it. Here is hoping I actually get to be seen next week…

Hands down the rudest staff I’ve ever dealt with and never even got in to make an appointment. For people dealing with children you would think they should have some sense of care or understanding but instead you have some incredibly rude and nasty sounding staff members. No people skills and certainly not helpful in any way. If that’s how they operate in the front office I can only imagine what it’s like when you get in. 10/10 would NOT recommend.

I have been going here for 3 years at this point but now I will be switching my PCP. My full name is Nathanial and one specific nurse has called me Natalia at least 5 different times. Today was the day I had enough, I called and asked to speak to the office manager but I was told I could only speak to the front desk supervisor who was named Caitlyn. I told her about the situation and I asked her if I could not have that nurse work on my file going forward due to her negligence of not reading what my actual name was.Caitlyn told me she couldn’t do that, and if it’s the nurse she’s thinking of…she is foreign and isn’t being malicious. I was taken back from the comment and just ended the conversation because it gave off some stereotypical views. I cannot go to a practice anymore that thinks this is okay and wouldn’t give me a nurse that can actually read the name on my chart. I didn’t want to leave because my actual PCP has been amazing but I can’t deal with this anymore.

I like my Dr. unfortunately I can't get an appointment with him. Had one on 10/27,Took day off from work, fasted showed up & told I must have wrong date. Showed them my emailed confirmation. Reply was oh well you'll have to reschedule. On 11/6 asked for appointment on 11/30. told ok @ 1 o'clock. Receive confirmation for 12/1 @ 1. Called back same attitude from front desk. You'll have to reschedule. No one here cares about the patients.

They have been super helpful with short notice requests for prescriptions/referrals for therapy assessments and school forms. Their front desk staff has been really polite and supportive. They always call me back and I don't stay on hold for long any time I call.

I’ll start by saying Dr Hickey is great! Unfortunately I can’t say the same with the rest of the office staff. I had an appointment for my daughter at 845, for school and work purposes, and after sitting in a room for over an hour decided to ask if there was an estimate of when we would be seen. Although I appreciate them taking their time with patients being notified there was a delay would have been helpful. After being given the run around of who to talk to I eventually ended up back at the front desk where I very calmly voiced my concern and was barked at to let her finish explaining and was told it would be a good idea to look at another dr office. I can’t express my frustration enough on the terrible customer service.
