I was in the hardware section looking for a way to improvise a repair to my broken patio umbrella. Carl from Kitchens noticed my puzzled look and came over and asked if he could help. He was very patient and took plenty of time with me to gather the right bolts, nuts, flat and locking washers to make sure the solution would work. Carl, everything worked great and the umbrella is back in action! Thank you, Carl for your help, and thank you to Curtis Lumber for this valuable personal touch that is so often lacking these days. I heartily recommend Curtis Lumber!

This place is pretty good size. They definitely specialize in wood, a very large selection. Everything is well organized and clean. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful.

Went in to get pricing for a deck we want to build. Waited for 40 minutes for anyone to approach us. Even with several associates right there and another associate continually talking with an older lady about personal stuff and nothing to do with decks. Then when someone finally talked with us it seemed like we were a major inconvenience and they were all about having an appointment which we didn't realize we had to have an appointment just to talk to someone about pricing out the materials for the deck. We were basically shown the door. I think I will be taking my business elsewhere and not setting foot back in a Curtis Lumber.

6/23/24 - I relocated back home over a year ago and after calling to ensure we did not have to make an appointment, we made the 2 hour drive with our new office/garage plans. Our intent was to sit down with a project resource and order windows, doors and siding. After arriving we were guided to the appropriate area where a project resource kind of greeted us and pointed at a table where we began to roll out our plans and attempted to tell him what we were needing. The CL employee wasn't even listening, nor did he sit down. He kept talking over us saying we needed a "window detail sheet with exact measurements". I showed him the measurements were on the plans but again, he was basically walking away at that point. I also tried to redirect to siding and doors but he was very rude and dismissive. We were able to get an appointment with ABC Supply in Queensbury who are tremendously helpful and kind and appreciate the $50k in materials needed for our building.

Due to an encounter with a very rude employee named Justin I will never be back. He's a real tough guy with senior citizens and probably shouldn't have a customer facing job. My father asked him if he could point him in the direction of something in the store and Justin got very aggressive in letting my father know that he was busy. The employee continued to yuck it up with his pals and ridicule my father as he walked away. We did eventually get help from a very nice employee but I can't give my business to a place that allows employees like Justin to disrespect customers like that. I did speak to a manager about the situation but I'm sure nothing will be done about it. I wasn't offered a follow up conversation. I cant tolerate such disrespect towards the elderly.

Tony Schmidt at 84 Lumber has better quality wood then you and at a competitive price and much more respectable to my needs and patient with us customers if you want some good quality supplies go to 84 Lumber in Malta or Guilderland NY.I will never be returning to Curtis Lumber ever again i learned my lesson the hard way when they gave me moldy damp wood.UNBELIEVABLE if you are going to sell wood do it right!

Needed good quality veneer plywood in a custom size. They were very cooperative and helpful in cutting a full sheet in half and making one additional cut to size it.

Using our most recent curtis designer to redo our bathroom has been terrible. We started with one specialist who was really good. They quickly changed to another lady who they said was one of the best. Not the truth at all. After the first mishap of her design with tile and speaking with many other contractors and some designers she laid the direction the wrong way in the design so when our contractor followed her plans he had to take it apart because it looked like garbage she then tried taking no responsibility saying it's open to interpretation. We also the entire time kept telling her we didn't want expensive so then when she said each box of tile of 11 pieces was over 400 dollars that she didn't even mention when she just had us walk the showroom with no prices, didn't mention that was such an expensive tile. She also miscalculated the number of basic white tile we needed and wanted to charge us a shipping charge of 75 dollars just to ship that one box. We had to get the supervisor involved just to make the situation right. Even now we still do not have all the pieces to the cabinets we ordered. This will definitely be the last time we use this designer and because of her lack of owning up to her mistakes and trying to make things right without us having to contact a supervisor will let people know before dealing with her.
