I recently had an extremely poor experience at this post office in Malta / Ballston Spa. However, I go there often and I usually see my same guy, and I'd rather write what I think is the more accurate review of this post office just in case someone was there today and had a similar experience to mine with the employees.
His name is on the tip of my tongue, I usually thank him by name, but there's gentleman that works there that is not overly friendly but he is very congenial. It's usually not a very busy post office, it wasn't recently,and he was not there during this visit. If he sees me kind of struggling trying to figure out which size priority mailbox to use,he will, if he can, come around and help me find the right size box and usually I'm shipping small things and I have a QR code because someone else pays the postage. One day with this gentleman, we were trying to get a pair of shoes into this box and just could not do it and he said we're going to have to put it in this other box, which did not have sticky closure stuff on it. He grabbed the box and he brought it up there and I was about to tell him that I didn't bring any money for tape because of the QR code I just have my phone but I didn't even have to do that. He just closed the small box, he had tape right next to him and he just used a few pieces and taped up my box, probably two pieces of tape, maybe three.
I worked.for many small businesses, and if you have worked for any business that works with the public there's usually some sort of gray area of kindness or going out of your way that you can do and this gentleman did it that day. I thanked him several times and told him that it was very kind and that my package looked so safe and that he didn't have to do that for me but thank you!
Transportation is usually something I have to arrange and this gentleman didn't know that, he was just doing his job and he probably didn't even think that much about it but it made my day. Two pieces of tape. I will write another review once I remember his name! I know that is so sad that I don't remember but I do remember what he did for me. I hope that you, as a post office customer, reading this, encounter this exemplary employee when you go there.
I have no skin in the game, I don't know this guy,. but he deserves to recognized, and certainly not lumped into what could have been a bad review. after my experience recently.

As a small online business owner, I stop at the Malta USPS weekly to drop off orders and am always greeted with fast, personable service from the employees. Whenever I’ve had a question, issue, or had to navigate a special request (like completing customs paperwork for international shipping) they have been patient, kind, and thorough. I only trust this location to drop off my packages and have never had an issue. Thank you to Matt, Kristen, Kevin, and Thomas for going above and beyond for your customers!

What a horrible post office to deal with, Just moved to the area and keep getting other people's mail, put "Incorrect address" on the mail and they refuse to take it back. Stop being lazy and do your job!!!!!!!!

By far the worst experience I have ever had. Lady was rude. I explained that the package I sent abroad came back due to a slip I filled out with the girl at the counter was too vague. It was $95. She said I am unable to get refunded for it. Since I got the package back after the new year, I couldn’t get the $95 back and it was their mistake since I filled it out with the girl. The long haired brown hair girl with glasses that helped me cost me $95. She should be fired for costing me money. I have no respect for ignorance and rudeness from anyone. I am now going to pay for more to ship anything via UPS or FedEx. Never send USPS again.

Looked for help to track my passport application and the lady named Laura or Laurie was extremely nasty and rude and did not help me at all. She 109% should be fired for her lack of customer service and empathy. This is supposed to be the branch manager too too. Shame on you.

Apparently my regular post lady isn’t here delivering at thimbleberry Road today 8.8.23 there is however some dope delivering the mail, however, is not delivering the way it supposed to. He’s been in my neighborhood for about two hours now going up and down the street the mailbox on the right hand side. There’s no mailbox on the left-hand side hanging keys not even doing it the regular way and everybody is complaining on Thimbleberry because there’s not just me waiting on my mail. I’ve never seen a person that is so incompetent in delivering mail ever. This is by far the worst delivery I’ve ever seen in my life and we’ve had other people delivering mail, and they knew what to do. This one hasn’t even got one clue now if he delivers my packages someplace else this post office in malta is going to hear me and pay for the items that I purchased.

Love the service at this post office but my packages get stolen a lot. I would appreciate them being held if they don’t fit in our mailboxes. I will be calling them tomorrow to ask them to hold a package. Let’s see how this goes. July 6,2023

Today Me and my wife had a chance to go to this location for passport services for our daughter passport , the associate at passport counter was Very unforpessional , rude and not willing to cooperate. She never intend to help by any means, sounded like she is at work today by force, I would never recommend to use this location, they don't even a chair to let customers to wait who can't stand and wait.sorry to say but worse ever expericed at any usps location.

Both gentleman that helped me yesterday were extremely kind, friendly, and quite frankly gave me the best customer service I've seen anywhere in a long time.The negative reviews on this page seem pretty outdated. As well as that, they're all about the drivers not the staff on site, who are amazing!

Another excellent delivery (sarcasm) by our route driver. I have complained more than once. I had to put so much force to pull this out of my mailbox this evening. They crushed the package to get it in. Take two second to put it by the door. Lazy! I have had so many things ruined by USPS.
