My dog had a scheduled c section last week and everything went so smooth. I dropped off my dog ? and a few hours later everything was done by DR J. The stuff was excellent and treated me well during the process. The prices here are good. They don’t try to rip you off like most vets out here. I definitely would recommend this veterinary hospital to my friends and family.

I just wanted to thank Dr.J for taking such great care of my girl. I had to bring her in for an emergency c-section after she delivered 5 pups and ran into issues . I called as I was on my way there hoping he would tell me yes bring her down (which he did) . The minute I got there, he got started right away and saved the remaining pups. You would never know this dog had a c-section. By the time I got her home she was absolutely fine never showing any signs from the surgery. Great office, couldn't ask for better !!!

I found a poor pup who was clearly lost and roaming the streets of Bay Shore. I picked him up and then called the Bay Shore Animal Hospital close to closing time for help/advice for next steps.Without hesitation, they told me to come on in! They scanned him for a chip but unfortunately he did not have one. They offered to keep him overnight as I was unable to keep him at my home. The staff clearly cared about animals and were so kind and comforting. Thankfully, we were able to reunite the pup with his owners the very next day!

I’m SHOCKED to see a high rating but imagine staff & time changed things. I made an apptmnt on 8/23 for 9/5. When I arrived; the front desk didn’t ask me to fill out paperwork. They asked me all the questions through the front window so I had to say all my info out loud. Unprofessional; but I didn’t ask why the apptmnt wasn’t booked. The pre exam woman looked a mess. She starts with the shots the dogs need; I asked for a price over the phone & wasn’t told about shots. I had 6 other dogs neutered at another clinic & not once did they need vaccines. I only booked an apptmnt here bc the other isn’t available until Jan. She said they probably didn’t ask for vacs bc it’s a “discount” clinic & they’re a hospital that “Squeezes” people in all the time. I wasn’t “squeezed in” anywhere. But of course she’s doing her best to charge for an “emergency apptm”. I ask what the shots are for. It was the end of the world to explain to a client what shots are. I literally said to her “SORRY I DONT STUDY THIS. I know Bordattela is for boarded dogs.” Taken aback; she wasn’t sure how to explain ANY shot. It’s a waste to inject them for no reason. I ask her the price of the shots because it seems like she’s just here for scare tactics to tack on dollars. She looked in one dogs mouth saw that their baby teeth didn’t fall out & acted like it was the most disgusting thing she ever saw. “UGH!! OH NO this is terrible!” Another scare tactic; She proceded with it being another charge. The other hospital neutered their father, who had the same dental situation so it’s not anything we’re not ready for. She says she has to price out the operations & the shots & the teeth she’ll ask the doctor if we can get a 10 percent discount for doing 2 dogs. Wait did she just admit that THIS is the “discount” clinic? My husbands looking at me like forget this place. The lady is all over the place pricing out the procedure on the cards she’s whispering “maybe we can get rid of the Bordetella so we’ll cross that out.” Then whispers the operation is $350 plus xyz. One of the dogs has one exposed testicle (again we neutered 6 dogs; TWO of them had the same issue; it was $25 more) the witch BELTS out “THATS GOING TO BE MUCHO DINERO”. Okay racist. I was just in shock. What a f word clown. We’re done & we’re not going to move forward with anything. It feels like we’re talking to a junkie. I can’t trust her. She says she has to talk to the Dr. We wait for her to come back with someone coherent but shes back disheveled and said we had to be charged for an exam. She proceeds to check a dogs heart beat & murmurs “the heart rate is good.” WHAT THE HELL FOR? I SAID I WAS LEAVING LADY. She acted like it was news to announce that a 6 month old puppy is healthy. Idiot. I wanted to clap for her and say “WOW. You did it!” DISGUSTED with the attitude and thankful to be leaving we get to the front desk & the girl says it’s $70! The girl goes to charge us, hands us a receipt to sign with NO pen. FORGET IT guys. Staff Sucks! That POS acts like she’s in a high end hospital when the place smells like dog sh*t & cat pis. Hold your breath bad. The exam room is dated; no one bothers to fix broken cabinet handles. The same wear & tear on the outside color scheme of green and vomit beige is inside except this hurricane of a woman did the damage. With staff like this I’ll never come back or recommend this place to anyone. That woman looks like she makes mistakes for a living & being under prepared for work today was one of them.

Please don’t board your pet here unless u want to pay for ur dog to be mistreated. The worker is completely lost . The owner Steven D is completely nasty and hope this place closed down . The price is fair but they completely mistreated my dog. I boarded my dog thinking she was in good hands especially since she is on medication . The moment I pick her up I know something was wrong with her . But the dr clip her nails and looked at her while I was there. So I was thinking if anything was wrong the doctor would have noticed if something was wrong. Walking out of the place she was walking funny . BUT LIKE I SAID I TRUST THE PROFESSIONALS. Take her home she was completely thirsty as if they never gave her water. I noticed she was falling out I rushed her to near by vet she was losing oxygen and the veterinarian said she was dehydrated. They clearly never monitor my dog or gave her work. The had her a small cage where only thing she could do was turn around. The day I pick my dog up from them was her last day living . I hope this place burns down. They clearly is only open for the money

@VONTAYSIA lAGUERREIN RESPONSE TO YOUR REVIEW :Most importantly we are always sorry when a client loses a beloved pet. However, in this circumstance the owner was vehemently discouraged from boarding her pet. Apparently her dog had severe heart disease and was on serious cardiac medications from a previous vet. That evening she was asked to produce records of this dog's disease from her primary vet & could not produce. To this date, we still have not received anything. For this reason the admitting doctor urged her to not board her pet. The admitting Dr called the owner of the hospital and also advised not to board due to serious risk. After a lengthy conversation of all the risks involved in boarding this dog, she was made to sign a release, which I am enclosing in this letter.I believe this letter will absolve the staff & animal hospital of any wrong doing. The doctor did recommend X-rays to evaluate before boarding & the owner declined.@VONTAYSIA lAGUERRE2 weeks agoNEWPlease don’t board your pet here unless u want to pay for ur dog to be mistreated. I've been going to this office for over 25 years. In the last couple of years, it has gone downhill. They send you emails to make appts online. Then you do so and no one contacts you. They overbook appts ridiculously so. The new staff is unorganized. The only doctor worth seeing is Dr. Terrell. The others don't seem to be very knowledgable. I was waiting over an hour the last time I went there. Meanwhile Dr.Dratsch was outside working on his car!?!?!? I don't know how much longer I am going to continue coming here. It's too bad because it used to be very good and I used to always recommend them. Not any more.
