i'm not the type to write a bad review however, i had gotten into a car accident and hit someone in front of me. they told me that they would take it to their guy and this is the place. I got in touch with Ami, at first- he was super kind, professional, and understanding. He later called me back, and asked me when i would be able to come in to pay, and that they close at 5pm. i normally work until 9:30pm and i don't own a debit card, i explained this to him. he butt dialed me back unknowingly, and was talking about how i was "giving him the run around & 'bullshit'" and that long story short i "didn't want to pay". When i texted him, he told me he "deals with people all day". that's a terrible excuse, i see 13-14 clients a day myself, and would never talk bad about them. Disgusting customer service and I had no problem paying initially.

I was very disappointed with my experience here. The employees are dishonest and will try to deceive you if they think you look naive. I am an Asian woman in my 40s and maybe I look like I know nothing about cars. But I also work as an embedded software engineer for an aerospace company. I build autonomous drones as a hobby, I know how the CAN bus in my car works, and I develop open source self-driving applications. They picked the wrong person to deceive. After doing a bumper to bumper inspection and finding no issues they ran a test on my Prius hybrid battery and said it had only 46% life expectancy and cannot be taken on a cross country drive. They offered to replace my current battery with a cheap battery that would cost me less than $400 including the installation service. The woman at the front assured me that they do not use "cheap batteries". Are you kidding me? Ask around the PriusChat forums online and members will tell you that any decent aftermarket hybrid battery for the Prius will cost you at least $1.5K and up. An OEM one from Toyota is $3K. Next, I ordered a high quality OBD2 scanner on Amazon, downloaded the Dr. Prius app, and ran a test that told me my hybrid battery is at 57% life expectancy, which means it's in fair shape and still serviceable for a 3,500 mile cross-country drive.Be careful when coming here (especially women) and try to learn as much about your car, the cost of repairs, and whether such repairs are necessary. An OBD2 scanner (for example from Autel) that can diagnose your car can be your best friend!RESPONSE: That is not what you told me. When I asked if there is a problem with my hybrid battery the woman at the front counter said "YES". I remember that I had to ask twice if she meant the hybrid battery because it's impossible for a replacement hybrid battery to be so cheap and the woman at the front desk said YES again. So, your staff pretty much outright lied to me. From the looks of your Yelp reviews I see I'm not the only one who has experienced dishonesty from you.

Everybody is super nice. They try to explain why this is necessary and how the cost comes out, even if I haven't asked yet. It's hard to find a reliable mechanic and repair shop since the expertise is beyond our normal knowledge. It's our freedom to doubt the owner or mechanics, but if you want to get more benefits, we should research and prepare a little bit, then trust each other. It was an enjoyable experience to get inspections and change some necessary parts.

No appointments, first come first serve (correct me if I'm wrong) called to have 2 brake pads replaced because my brake wear noise indicator was getting annoying.Paid between 200-300 for my jeep renegade. The invoice you receive is very detailed also. They offer a 12 month warranty on their service too, no complaints there. They offered to do it the same day. Dropped off at 2pm & picked up by 4pm. been 3 weeks and no issues.

Decided to give this place another try. First came here several years ago when I moved into the area. Decided then to keep looking for a better shop to help maintain my car.A little over a week ago I was working in the Hamptons and my car was making noise. Then the abs, brake, check engine lights all came on, plus 2, picture icon things were flashing. It was an oh crap moment. I needed to do some work in Queens and the car was still drivable. So I made it to Queens and decided to give this shop another try from the online reviews... My normal mechanic is on Long Island... Figured why risk my luck taking it all the way there...Anyway, came here a few minutes after they opened and told them the issue. Left the car and started my day. A few hours had passed and realized I never hear from them so I called to get an update. They said what went wrong and had to order a part would probably have it to me by end of day. I'm thinking great,... Still 430pm rolling around and still I haven't heard from them. So I called, they said oh they have to keep the car for tomorrow because the part didn't get in on time. Tomorrow I had to call them again only to hear the part came in and they'll install it as soon as a bay is open, there were 2 cars ahead of mine. Again later that evening 4-5pm I had to call only to find out they still didn't fix my car. The next day I called and was like why is it taking so long to fix it. The guy was like they are installing it now... So noon I called and this guy was like they got the wrong part, he ordered the right one and I'll have to wait until Monday. I said, you had my car for 3 days and couldn't fix it. I'm just going to pick up my car and take it somewhere that knows wtf they are doing. I get there and they said the part came in (magically) and they will install it. I'm like as long as I get my car back by end of day....sure why not. They call me later that afternoon, (first time they actually called me with an update) said my car was ready. I went in, paid $600 for parts and labor. The car turned on fine and drove away. Got to my appointment about 30mins away. No issues... Got back to the car turned it on and all the error lights popped on. Called their shop said the car is still broken... The guy said bring it back Monday.Basically, all they did was lie and reset my check engine light. I already paid for parts and labor that never took place. Monday came, the lady at the desk said they were missing 1 more part and they got it in. Yep, it was a part they claimed they already bought, and installed on my car that I already paid for. I let them fix the car. Seems to be working now. This is the worst shop I've ever been to. Bad communication, bad service, and they lied the entire time. All for just a few hundred $. Wasted my time when I could have taken it to a shop that could actually get it done. Took them 4 days to figure their crap out. They actually charged me for parts and labor they had not yet done. Piece of crap shop... If there could be negative stars, id give them....

I brought my car in for inspection and everything went smoothly. Stanley was professional, courteous and maintained communication and updates throughout the process. Ami followed up later to check that everything went well. My husband and I have been using them for years and highly recommend Bayside Auto Repair & Body Works!

New owners as recent reviews state. Last week I brought in my CR-V for an oil change and was charged $70. I thought that was a good price, so this week I bring in my Pilot for an oil change and I was charged $125! I've never been charged that much for a standard oil change anywhere, normally it's $90. I wasn't in the mood to argue with the new owner, but I will not bring my cars back there for basic maintenance again. I heard that the new owners would raise prices, I guess the rumor is correct.

I visit this shop this morning. I find out under new management. New owner was very nice and polite. and his wife too. Usually a lot of shop they take advantage from woman customers but sounds like she take care of woman customer. That is great !! my wife is going to be very happy too. Also new owner is Korean and he said he used to work at dealer long time so he knows what he is doing. Great for bayside Korean community ! People should visit . I am so glad I think I find good one !

I heard a sound like a flat tire. They checked it for me and found an old glove tarred down on my tire. They were so help and kind. Eventhough it was a small job they treated me like I was replacing ab engine. So g
