Of the 3 hotels that I stayed at recently, this was my favorite. The locàation of the hotel is ideal for visiting my mom in Ozanam Nursing Home of Queens; the Q12 bus stop (Northern Blvd at 220 Pl) is right outside the hotel lobby doors. Bus fare is only $2.90 and the stop near nursing home is only 9 minutes away down Northern Blvd.; I get off bus at 202 St and walk 2 very short blocks to Ozanam. (Tip: Downloading MTA app is helpful). Right across street from front of hotel is a Wendy's and there is a Burger King, Popeye's and Dunkin' Donuts less than a block away. Location of hotel is safe and they have free parking. The great complimentary breakfast includes big fresh waffles (waffle maker) that come with choices of syrup and compote, plain scrabbled eggs, scrabbled eggs w/ veggies and cheese, and breakfast meat varies by day (bacon, turkey hash, breakfast sausage patties...). There are small breakfast pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt (including Chobani), cereal, breads, juices and coffee. In the lobby there is an awesome coffee machine that will make an espresso, vanilla latte and several other choices at the touch of a button. When we arrived, we were handed a bag that containeda 2 snack bags of assorted chips, a snack bar, bottled water and a voucher for a glass full of wine which was delicious. Staff was friendly and professional and I felt at home. There is a restaurant off the lobby where I enjoyed chicken parmigiana. My room window faced out the back of hotel (odd numbered units) and I enjoyed the view which included nice homes and a part of the bay beyond. The room contained 2 chairs which makes good sense if there are 2 occupants; other hotel units elsewhere often only have 1 chair. The sheets and bathroom were clean which is the MOST important! The room includes both a small fridge, a microwave and a pod-style coffee maker. I like that sink is outside the bathroom. There is a park about 5 blocks away called Oakland Park that had a pond with a walking path around it. The pond has two swans that are nesting, turtles (basking together in the sun) and ducks. Although the age of hotel may be the complaint of some reviewers, it did not deter from us returning to stay an additional 2 times. As a reward member (free) you can get a lower rate by prepaying and selecting a non-refundable advanced rate.
Thank you to all staff!

Even though the hotel was clean, but it was very noisy. You could hear people talking in the hallways and car/police sirens from the street. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Everything was fine as I needed an emergency room after a canceled flight. Wich brings me to the young lady at the front desk "Blair" .(front desk team member) who turned this horrible experience of being stranded at the airport to a warm and cozy nights sleep. She was patient caring and understanding( over the phone and in person as well). She went the extra mile to help us.THANK YOU Best Western for employing individuals like this .If only other business did the same.
Walkability: Restaurants near by.

Our overall experience at the hotel was far from satisfactory. While the location was convenient and the complimentary breakfast was decent, the positives ended there. The hotel struggled to meet even basic expectations in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and service. The staff, particularly the receptionist, was rude and dismissive when we reported issues with our room. While she apologized after being called out for her behavior, the attitude remained unprofessional. Even after switching rooms due to unresolved problems like a non-functional bathroom exhaust, the new room had similar issues. The explanation that “all exhausts are silent” was unconvincing since it was evident they weren’t working at all.
The room design was one of the most frustrating aspects of the stay. The sink was awkwardly placed outside the bathroom, which is not only inconvenient but also impractical, as there was no storage space or countertops in the bathroom for toiletries. This unusual layout made simple tasks like brushing teeth or washing hands cumbersome, especially in a room meant for three people.
Additionally, the thermostat in our room was broken, causing the temperature to rise uncontrollably. At one point, the room reached 80°F, forcing us to open windows for relief. This, combined with stiff pillows and poor soundproofing (noise easily traveled from adjoining rooms through a locked connecting door), made the room uncomfortable and hard to relax in.
Despite its pricing, which suggested a higher level of comfort and service, the hotel failed to deliver. Significant improvements are needed in both service and facilities to justify the cost and provide a better guest experience. As it stands, we would not recommend this hotel unless someone is a loyal Best Western member looking to earn points.
Rooms: The rooms were a major disappointment. Poorly designed with impractical layouts, they failed to provide comfort or functionality. The sink being outside the bathroom was inconvenient, especially with no counter space or storage in the bathroom itself. The thermostat was broken, causing the room to overheat, and the only solution was to open windows for cooling. Noise from adjoining rooms easily penetrated the connecting door, further disrupting the stay. The stiff pillows, combined with inadequate cleaning and daily maintenance, made the rooms one of the weakest aspects of our stay.
Noteworthy details: - Room Design Issues: The sink was oddly placed outside the bathroom, and there was no storage or counter space inside the bathroom, making the setup inconvenient for guests.
- The complimentary breakfast was decent, and the staff serving it were polite and friendly, but this was the only bright spot in terms of service.
- The location was convenient, with easy access to transportation and nearby attractions, and the area felt safe.
- The elevator was slow, noisy, and poorly maintained, and the hallways had an unpleasant smell due to a lack of proper cleaning.

I would of given it a 5 if not for one thing. Sometimes when you ask for a wake up call, they do not wake you up. That is very important and I hope they address this. Other then that , I highly recommend this hotel. The only thing that I would add is a clock radio with a alarm clock instead of a clock radio that does not have a alarm clock. That would solve the problem.
Rooms: Very nice clean rooms. The fridge and microwave is a big plus.
Nearby activities: Near many food places and transportation.
Safety: Quiet area
Walkability: Near many fast food places
Food and drinks: Nice breakfast

Had a late night in queens, decided to stay the night rather than drive upstate. Rooms were clean, kind of small. A little dated. Small bathrooms. Sinks are outside the bathroom. Small parking lot, but there’s additional parking next door.

I highly recommend staying at the Best Western in Bayside! It’s clean and safe with friendly, accommodating staff. The restaurant attached, Marabella, alone is worth the stay! We walked in at 10 pm, worried we were too late to eat, and we were welcomed like family. The staff was very attentive to our needs.
Nearby activities: There was a Quinsineda going on in the banquet room. I loved peaking in to see the celebration. My best friend lives in Bayside, the Best Western is our new Home Away from Home
Walkability: Conveniently located to shops and stores and diners in Bayside

Ok experience for one night, but the thermostat was broken so it was FREEZING COLD. I asked for extra blankets but ended up sleeping with towels and a jacket over me - it was 40 degrees out when I woke up (the thermostat was turned all the way up to 80 at that point, but reading at 60F - way too cold). When I was checking out in the morning, I heard another couple complain about the same thing, so seems like a known issue that’s not being addressed.
Wish I had known they only have sheer curtains and there’s no way to lower them, so you can’t block out any light in the morning (the heavier curtains are just for display and don’t pull at all from where they’re attached to the wall). The radiator is also extremely loud, but if you’re used to white noise when you sleep it’s bearable. Luggage storage was not secure at all - they just toss it in the gym in a corner and call it a day.
Otherwise the room was fine. Older hotel, very slow elevator, old appliances, but did the job. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. 20 min walk from Bayside LIRR and in a very secluded residential area, not very accessible to things but then again, not many options in this area.
Average experience deserving of 3 stars if I wasn’t shivering all night and if the curtains actually worked.
