What is with this location. One saturday, I saw that it was closed at 5 minutes to 5. It was supposed to be open until 3PM every Saturday, which means they locked it close to 10 minutes to 3.
Same thing happened today at July 14, 2025 at 4:46PM.
That forced me to go to the one at 42St. And the line was very long. Probably consisted of people who came from this location.
When they're not closed without notice for the whole day, they're closed 5-15 minutes to closing time.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. After waiting in line for quite a while, I was finally helped by Clerk 55 and unfortunately, the experience was really unpleasant. They did not assist, avoided eye contact, and made passive-aggressive comments that made me feel like I was bothering them just by asking a simple question.
What really bothers me is that this isn’t the first time I’ve seen this behavior. I’ve had similar experiences before, and I’ve also seen them act rude and dismissive toward other customers, including elderly people. It honestly makes the whole atmosphere tense and uncomfortable.
I hope management takes this seriously. Everyone has tough days, but when someone consistently treats the public this way, it’s a sign that something needs to change, whether that’s better training or a conversation about whether this role is the right fit. Customers deserve to be treated with basic respect.

By far the worst USPS location I’ve ever been to. There’s never enough people. Very rude staff. They limit the amount of packages they can take at once, which is only a rule at this location. There’s two other locations somewhat close to this, there’s no reason to waste my time here

It’s always 1 person at the window and the line is always SO long because if one minor incident happens it holds up the entire line. Expect to be waiting every visit. Lol

Sometimes they open late (way after 9am) and the clerk says they're understaffed. Also when they're understaffed, they close so the one clerk can go on lunch break. I've never seen a post office line around a building until I came here.

Always a long line since there's usually only one person working each time. The worst USPS I've ever been to. Wish it could be better since the location is very convenient.

Waited 10 minutes on line and then was told there are no stamps. There were more customers behind me that needed stamps.Everybody was upset. A post office without stamps. Manager should be fired.

this is surely the worst post office in NYC. there us always a Huge line, uf you ask a question you are berated and I mailed 2 important envelopes 2 weeks ago. I put the required postage the woman stated and today my urgent mail came back with NO Postage on the envelope. if I'm handing it to a postal worker and IF she stamped it the stamps couldn't have disappeared. unbelievable.

Talk about a bad experience..
Came in here to deliver a package, but didn't have a label printed out so I needed one printed here. The clerk said to write the address on the box (which I did), and then processed my package.
1 month later, the package has been bouncing around the destination city but never made it out to delivery. Call into USPS to figure out what was the problem since the package reached the destination Post Office only to have it rerouted back to regional processing. Turns out, the label that the clerk had printed only had the city, state, and zip. No street address. The machines based everything on labels, so the lack of street address just resulted in the package being bounced over and over again. The USPS rep told me she had to put an intercept @ the destination Post Office so the address on the box is used for the final delivery.
All of this delays, headache, and manual intervention could have been avoided had the clerk printed the label following what was written on the box instead of taking short cuts...

Saturday, supposed to open at 9 am, rarely do they. Also interaction with customers is sour. Not friendly, kind of miserable to all.

Although this location is convenient I avoid using it as letters that I've mailed here in the past have gotten lost. Recently I went here just to buy stamps though. The worker's attitude was so sour and distasteful that it left a very negative impression. I hope to not return.

The staff here are horrible. There was no one on line and yet they sent me back 3 times to send out an envelope and package. They both had an attitude and made it seem I was an inconvenience to them. Very sad as this kind of customer service is not a costumed in a busy shopping center. Also initially I was waiting for a clerk because none of the two were in the window..one was on the phone and the other came to her window a few minutes afterward.

This comment is for the guy writing about the 2 Afro American men. They are great they are always helpful and kind. It’s a shame I can’t say the same about the rest of the people that “work” notThey are incredibly rude, they don’t want to help anyone they are on their cell phones they don’t want to take your mail even if you buy stamps, sad that they can’t hire better employees
