Brunch was not as extensive as it used to be but food was still as delicious and satisfying. Staff was wonderful and accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure we were ok with gluten free options and pasty chef even created a special GF pistachio crusted cheesecake that was so delicious! Thank you!

The ambiance of Restaurant 1915 is amazing being located right between the base of Bear Mtn and Hessian Lake, giving spectacular views while dining. Seating and service was excellent. We did the afternoon tea service. Everything was beautifully plated and our waiter Josh took the time to explain the teas and food selections with great detail, he was great. The presentation WOW! The only complaint was the food itself was terrible. Sandwiches were dry, stale and tasteless. The pastries and scones were a little better but only because we were given pots of butter and jellies to smother them. Tea was pleasant. We had a good time as the company and surroundings made up for the food. Also the advertised price upon reservation was 28 per person which was then presented as 33 per person once we arrived.

The brunch is served in a lovely location; cozy, iconic with beautiful views and a magnificent fireplace. The food selection is not what it used to be, but we're hopeful it will improve. I think it's presumptuous to serve sliced meats in gravy, instead of offering different sauces, condiments etc. The shrimp were a little salty. The desserts used to be more varied and in little sizes so you could try them. The wait staff were very friendly and professional. The room had a few loud running children, but there were only a few brunchers left at that point. We are really cheering for them to pick it up a bit so the brunch goes back to what it once was. They could also comp diners for the $10 parking fee. As it stands, it's not a brunch I would book again.

Nice rustic setting. Kind of the only show in town due to the rustic location and few nearby options. Our waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there and was abrupt, too. We also didn't know there were “specials” until after we ordered and we heard those described to adjacent diners. The food was ok, not bad. Emphasis seemed to be on steaks or beef but other options were available. The restaurant policies are a bit rigid: they clearly state you have a 5 minute grace period (5 minutes!) or they may cancel the reservation, and the charge for that (or no-show) is $25per person if 2 diners. Of note, the place was 2/3 empty but they couldn't seat us earlier, presumably a personnel issue. In sum, the setting is the reason you're there, and the food isn't bad. I'd recommend it if you stay at Bear Mtn Inn or Lodge.

We came here for our Wedding night. The restaurant was not ready to handle the traffic of a holiday night. The waitress was trying. The manager was excellent. The taste of the food was fantastic!

The food was typical brunch food, nothing special. The service was spotty, wait staff seemed to bring original drinks but after that you needed to get their attention to ask. The room was lovely but the area we sat in was very cold. They did bring us a space heater but it didn't work.

Had reservations and got seated right away for the Sunday Brunch, but the table was not set. Had to seek out and ask the waitress for water and coffee, was never asked about any other drinks. No salt or pepper on the table. At no time did the wait staff come around to refresh water or coffee or ask about the meal. Had to again seek out the waitress to bring the bill. When the bill came they had automatically added an 18% gratuity! It was only my spouse and I, and it was a self-serve brunch. Bear Mountain Inn restaurant staff is in serious need of training. I could not have been more disappointed. The best part of the meal was getting out of there. My recommendation is save your money and go to an IHOP or McD's. You'll be much happier and save $125.

The food was really lovely! We ate there twice during our stay at Bear Mountain. The waitresses were all really nice and knowledgeable, and the food and wine were delicious. Between the two occasions, we had the French onion soup, angus burgers, creamed spinach, lemon meringue and cheese cake. I would definitely recommend eating here if you're staying at Bear Mountain or just want a nice place to eat with a live fire and beautifully set up.

Let me say first that our waiter was excellent! The problem with service was that you were severly understaffed. Knowing it was New Years Day scheduling extra staff might have been a better idea. Making things worse was the way coffee was served. Instead of placing urns on each table or have the main brewing urn in the room for self service would have been much more efficient and less frushstrating than waiting for coffeee served one cup at a time. Another unusual and time wasting problem was having ONE server at the buffet line. Having her follow each patron along the whole table to dish up the food at each tray and then return to the next person and follow that person along was unbelievable. I suggest you visit the Hotel Thayer for their Brunch to discover how to run this type of event properly.

Food is excellent. Wait staff are wonderful. In winter large room is often chilly. Can be noisy when there are many visitors or an affair going on on the neighboring hall. 2 seat tables could be just a bit larger. I do recommend the experience. Go on a mid week and/ or non holiday. I am not Joanna. My name is Karen writing this review.

Bear Mountain Inn is such a beautiful, historic place to visit and Restaurant 1915 is a very impressive place to eat. The wait staff was professional and friendly, the food was delicious and we had a wonderful evening there with our friends. I highly recommend eating at Restaurant 1915, it truly is a wonderful place to dine, not extravagantly priced but still a very special place.

Beautiful location with lots of potential. Very nicely decorated for the holidays, and clean. Dinner menu was sparse with no specials offered. Limited drinks from the bar. Nothing special about the food which was extremely disappointing. Service level was awful. Searching for the server repeatedly to get a drink or any help at the table. She was missing most of the time. Disappointing experience.

Christmas dinner was ridiculously overpriced. There were 4 salads as appetizers plus a teaspoon of pate and an awful charcuterie board (unwashed grapes and bologna)! The beef was on ivercooked cheap cut of meat. This was $75 each — at a cost of about $15. Not even bread was offered! What decent restaurant doesn't offer Bread? Service was poor — how can you serve a 2nd course when there are still dirty dishes on the table? No Christmas music?!

Deff one of the worst dinning experiences I have ever had. The waitress bless barely existent. The manager could care less of the issue. And nothing was done to compensate for the wasted two plus hours. Would Deff not recommend. Food was good for the most part. Steaks were over cooked and didn't want to send them back bc it would of just took longer. But the service was so bad.
