Totally inflexible management. We had booked a table for Father’s Day on the patio, and then my nephew, sister and brother-in-law were added to our group. We asked if they could sit at the same table and the manager said no (as they were booked at a different table). We asked if they could be seated near us (at one of the six unoccupied table - a number of which were never filled during our meal) and they said no. We asked if we could raise the table umbrella because it was a very sunny hot day… they said no, because they were worried the umbrella might knock over a glass on a day with almost no wind. Food was perfectly ok (brunch food), hard to fault the patient servers, location/setting was very good but the restaurant that always says “no” means we will not be coming back.

Very disappointing for at least a few reasons relating to food preparation and service. We reserved for a 2pm Saturday lunch. There were 4 servers hanging out in the bar area, 2 hosts at the front and our server, they weren't busy during our visit, there was one four top and 2 three tops finishing their meals. We ordered the larger seafood tower and I had to wave someone down to get bowls for the shells after 15 minutes of trying to maneuver shells and tiny bread plates to accommodate this first course. Luckily the table next to us was unoccupied so since the 4 servers and 2 hosts within 5 feet of our table were too busy socializing and being engaged with their phones, we were able to stack our dishes there. We ordered the "baguette" for the table which was hilarious. This item, under the heading, "For the Table" arrived as an over baked 2 inch wide, 4 inch long bread. The burger we ordered rare was actually raw inside; not red, not cooked, but cold, raw meat and the bun was burnt on the inside (it's so laborious to grill or toast another roll rather than serve a burnt one?) and untoasted on the outside. The strawberry rhubarb tart sounded promising and was styled beautifully, but tasted like it was in the refrigerator a day too long; any buttery, berry ee flavor was masked by that metallic refrigerator flavor. Maybe this was tasty and fresh yesterday. I chose this restaurant because it's in bucolic Bedford, NY won a Michelin star last year, and was my best friend's birthday. We will never return and I'll be sad and embarrassed for them because their price point does not match the lack of attention to details. What a waste of time. That entire staff needs a field trip down to Gage and Tollner to see what best practice in food preparation and service is all about.

The food and desserts were amazing, the service was good, and it was nice to sit outside with the heating lamps. We will be back.

Unless you are wealthy enough not to be bothered by the over priced mediocre food and surly dismissive service, DONT GO!

Terrible overpriced food. The food was subpar on top of being cold. Will never go back. Outrageous prices for nothing. Literally nothing

Been here several times and food was good... Yesterday however, not only was the food just OK, the service was terrible. Long wait time for drinks, with a sever who really didn't care, nor did he know much about the menu. When the food arrived, one of the dishes was not correct, so we had to wait, and wait, while they tried to fix it, only to keep waiting, and again, have a server who really didn't care. End of the meal, nothing taken off the bill, even after mentioning the issues. Upon writing to the owner, the reply back from him was actually insulting VS him actually caring and understanding and wanting to make it better—in fact, I'm now banned! which is fine, because I wouldn't step foot back there. don't waste your time or your money here, far better places.

The outdoor patio ambiance is lovely, and the wait staff is exceptional, however beyond that it was a very disappointing evening. The halibut was tasty, however the octopus was dry and rubbery, along with the soggy and tasteless shrimp cocktail . There was no lobster or blueberry cheese cake this evening. The wine list offers one Italian wine . My wife and I have been fortunate to travel worldly and enjoy Five Star restaurants. Unfortunately on this evening, the Barn didn’t come close .

My family of six had reservations this upcoming weekend at Bedford Post to celebrate a milestone birthday. Unfortunately those plans were cancelled after I stopped by this week and encountered Chef Roxanne. Although I did not have an appointment, her rude, condescending tone and arrogant body language was so unexpected and I was truly taken back! This has been a special occasion restaurant for my husband and I and I was so excited to share this hidden gem with my grown children. Years ago one of the staff gave my husband an impromptu private tour of the property and it is so sad to see what a far cry from that this has become. At the end of our brief encounter, like a similar review I read, I suggested Roxanne take a class in “people skills”. I feel so sad for this beautiful venue with her at the helm.

The chef owner blamed us without justification for the hostess losing control. The chef owner refused to serve us and we left. The chef failed to see that the hostess was overwhelmed with the lack of support from owner who decided to take it out on the last table that was seated which unfortunately was us. We arrived 7 minutes early and were told we would need to wait until the time of our reservation. We have never encountered a policy like that and thought it strange given the many empty tables, but we politely waited and at our reserved time were seated. The next thing that happened was a visit to our table by chef Roxanne who asked us what the problem was whicch perplexed us as there was no problem other than us questioning making customers wait for one of the many empty tables. She then told us her hostess was in tears and acused us for being the cause. Bewildered we told her that there was no justification for that while chef Roxanne was causing a scene while standing over the table stating a no tolerence policy. With several successful family restaurantures we were appalled at the chef’s demeanor especially given the unfounded “issue”. We saved the day by going to an awesome venue at the Tavern at Greybarnds in Norwalk (Silvermine) CT which offered great food, ambience and over the top professional and friendly service. The chef owner at The Barn Bedford Post needs to go back to restaurant management 101 for basic customer service training, her attitude was simply deplorable. We will not go back to the Bedford Inn!

It’s just a wonderful restaurant. The Michelin plate should say as much. To the people leaving a poor review. Remember restaurants are going through a crazy difficult time. Pandemic. Now labor shortage. Be patent. Say thank you

This restaurant is a gem. The menu is inventive, compelling and executed brilliantly by Chef Spruance and her team. They should be applauded for their ability to deliver an all around lovely fine dining experience, particularly in the setting of what has been a relentless onslaught of challenges at every turn for New York restaurants throughout 2020 and continuing. The space is also beautifully designed -- tasteful, contemporary, and sophisticated yet cozy. It comes as no surprise that The Barn won a Michelin Plate in the short time that it has been operating under its current management team, fortified by Chef Spruance's leadership. I look forward to future experiences at The Barn and seeing what it will continue to deliver.

Beautiful outdoor dining experience. Food is excellent and staff was so accommodating and attentive. Definitely recommend making a reservation for your next special occasion or just to make any day special.

The setting is beautiful, no doubt. That being said, the chef is unwilling to make any changes to the menu, including the salad dressing used! My mother has certain dietary restrictions and the poor server said that the chef could not accommodate her. In this age, I was shocked by the total lack of flexibility. While I love the atmosphere, neither it nor the quality of the food justifies that lack of customer service.

My wife and our close friends decided to venture out of Westport and venture up to Bedford for what looked like a very nice menu. Got there and we were graciously brought to our outdoor dining table. From an overall look of the menu the selections and price seemed to be very fair. We ordered an appetizer each that were between $15 - $19 each and an entree each that was around $30 each. The waitress explained that the portions were designed around a 3 course meal of appetizer, entree & dessert. I’m thinking awesome - a nice 3 course meal. Wife ordered the tricolor salad for appetizer and the Halibut for dinner. I ordered the Lobster Rangoon appetizer and Scallops for dinner. My friend ordered the wedge salad and a pork dish for dinner while his wife got the wedge salad and the fried chicken dinner. Picture a normal salad at any other restaurant and what it looks like if you split it with your significant. These three full size appetizer salads were smaller than any half salad I have ever seen. All fairness my Lobster Rangoon was 5 wantons with a very nice sauce so no complaints there. Let’s move to the entrees - all entrees are served on 12” round China plates. Starting with my scallops - picture the top ⅓ of the plate with some boiled char or collard greens and 3 Sea scallops on my plate. The other 2/3 of the plate were empty . . . Not even a garnish. How did the Scallops taste? Fishy like they were sourced 2-3 days earlier. My wife ordered the halibut and it came out in the middle of the plate sitting on maybe a spoon full of lentils. It came with a miniature potato cut in quarters. The halibut was the size of a Drakes Yodel - if it was 3oz of fish I would be shocked. To their credit it was fresh and tasty . . . all four bites of it. My friend got the pork and the 3 medallions they gave you sitting on some kind of spicy berry sauce was tasty as well. I traded him one of the old scallops for 1 of his medallions feeling guilty of stealing ⅓ of his dinner. His wife got the fried chicken dinner with fried pickles. I didn’t try that and she finished all three bites of what looked like oversized McNuggets so I guess they were good. We ordered a side of French Fries which if there were 10 shoestrings in the container I would be surprised. Dessert - found out later that all desserts on their menu are $15 each. Ok, I’m good with that because I’m figuring they are going hit it out of the park. My wife took one look at the price and passed. I got some kind of cherry tart with homemade buttermilk ice cream , my friend got the cheesecake with something on top and his wife went for the dark chocolate pudding cake with homemade mint ice cream. My cherry tart came out and was the size of a Twix bar with at best a teaspoon of ice cream. My friend got a medallion of cheesecake about the size of a Silver dollar and I’ll be generous about an inch thick. His wife got the dark chocolate pudding cake which was about 4 small bites at best with, again, at best a teaspoon of mint ice cream. Pros: service and ambiance is A+ Cons: the portions are not small for the price - they are insulting small for the price. I have no problem spending several hundred dollars for any meal but I walked away feeling disgustingly taken advantage of. I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this place as a fine dining experience. Zero value for your spending dollars here.

We had the pleasure of having dinner at the restaurant last night to celebrate my birthday. There were 3 couples and despite a power outage Roxanne the chef/ owner made it a memorable evening filled with delicious food and cocktails - the servers and staff were all apologetic for the delays that were completely out of their hands (Mother Nature whipped up some strong winds!) We also witnessed the prior reviewers incredible disrespect towards the owner and I was saddened to see he wrote - because the truth was his wife threw a glass at the owner and screamed profanities at her. She handled it with grace. As a group of former city dwellers and travelers we were so pleased that this gem is in our backyard- thanks to the entire staff for a beautiful delicious evening!
