I have recently moved to Long Island and I was looking for an eye docto And facilityr that I can be comfortable with. The first two places that I found were very much not to my liking. They did not compare to my expectations so I kept on looking, however when I found this place, it was wonderful. The whole experience from start to finish from the scheduling the reception everything was just wonderful. I am very happy that I found them and this will definitely be my go to all the time now so if you’re looking for a good optical place with good doctors and great staff, I suggest that you come here.

My first time here getting my annual eye check up! Front desk staff were so nice, doctors were great and reassuring and owner of optical concepts was so helpful in finding me the correct glasses I needed and had my best interest at heart. He and the doctor took their time with me. Would highly recommend!

Paul is amazing. He listens to what you are looking for, gives suggestions and help with the overall selection of frames that emphasizes you and not what you are wearing. I have been going to optical concepts for many years and have never been disappointed. Paul the optician is very friendly and really knows his business. I always tell everyone that Paul can make a suggestion and give you three pairs of glasses to try and the glasses you choose will always be one of the first three pairs. Paul knows his merchandise and has glasses for all types and shapes of faces. sometimes it is hard to find frames
that fit and look well on me because I have a small face but, Optical Concepts has glasses that are very fashionable and look good on small faces. You won’t be disappointed!!

If you’re in the market for an exam and glasses, don’t look any further. Dr. Gentile is amazing and I will never let anyone other than Paul Stone pick out my eyeglasses for the rest of my life. That should say it all but, if you need more: excellent, consistent, quality service always.

This place has gone way down since the merge!!! I just paid 900 dollars for a pair of jimmy c. Glasses, they broke within 4 months, I called a dozen times, I stopped in there a dozen times, and they said they would give me new frames, needless to say, they did not, I will absolutely not go back here again, disgraceful to treat people this way!!!

Dr. Giangrande was awesome.My exam went great, however my issue is with the billing. This office seems shady. I’ve been wearing contacts for 20 years and my insurance covers contact lens evaluation and fittings. I have FEPBlue Vision (Davis).When the exam was over Paul introduced himself and said he would help me find some eyeglasses. I looked throughout the display and I didn’t see anything I was interested in. Paul offered to show me the frames that were free with my insurance and instead of letting me see all of them he insisted on him showing me the ones he thought I would like. How would he know? I told him I wanted to see for myself. I told him I would look around at other places and if I didn’t find anything I would come back. He said that the office would only accept my insurance benefits for eyeglasses the same day as the exam. I have never ever heard of this.Ellie, the young lady checked me out and said that after a couple of days of wearing the contacts I could call back and order and she asked me to create an account on some website called Marlo. I still don’t understand the point of Marlo, even though she said it’s a website they use at the office to coordinate orders, but whatever. She told me my total was $130. I knew that I would have to pay for Optos out of pocket because my insurance only covers dilation. The remaining balance was for contact lens evaluation and fitting, which my insurance covers. She told me that it wasn’t covered. I paid because I didn’t want to cause a scene.I called my insurance outside and the representative told me that I was correct, I was not supposed to pay for contact lens evaluation and fitting. The insurance representative called the office and Ellie said that the contact lens eval and fitting is only covered for certain brands of contacts. This is very misleading because my insurance doesn’t specify this and no one in the office brought this to my attention when I made the appointment and they asked if I wore contacts. They made sure to tell me that optos was not covered by insurance so why not tell me about the contact brands not covered. I would’ve gladly opted to select an evaluation and fitting for whichever contact lens brands are covered. Then Ellie goes on to say that acuvue is one of the brands that would be considered free because it’s not a good contact lens.The whole thing just feels misleading. I wish the office was transparent. Who knows how many others have paid for contact lens evaluation and fitting when their insurance covers it? I went somewhere else to purchase my eyeglasses and contacts.

I had a great initial appt at Optical Concepts. The doctor and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I will be returning for a follow up and to pick up my new glasses. Highly recommend.
