First time at Superior Electronics to fix a Yamaha powered speaker (DSR115). The owner, Kent, has been doing this for 30+ years. Pro-audio and TVs are his specialty. I didn't even know this repair shop existed so close to where I live.He offered to check the speaker out and bill me an agreed rate only if he fixed it. No diagnostic fees. His rates were reasonable. He said it would take a week. One day since I dropped it off and he's fixed it. Some caps were blown.Great first experience. Highly recommended. Thanks, Kent!

Had to go on the showroom to order a oversized bathroom fan. At first the sales guy said they didn't have anything like that until I pushed him to look. He had no idea on how to figure out appropriate cubic feet per minute on the fan depending on the room size. I had to show him how to do that. Then he was actually surprised that they did have it in stock. You have to order in the sales room and then go over to the separate entrance to the pickup counter for contractors. The guys are really slow and easily distracted. I jokingly made a comment about the guys miniature fish tank and as he was working my order he couldn't keep from going back and looking at the fish tank four or five times.

My mom brought a TV that had a menu screen that kept popping up. She shows him the issues and he says $145 to replace a bulb. The TV itself worked and I don't think the bulb was the problem but okay. We bring it home and he never returned the power cord so we go back to the store and he claims we never gave him one (which we did) but he gives us another cord. We plug it in and it's stuck in hdmi 1 and the remote will not turn it on or off and it won't get out of hdmi 1. So we bring it back and he plugs a DVD player into and said he fixed it because there's a picture on the screen... the picture was never the problem! He was trying to convince us it was fixed but again it was never an issue with the bulb. If I had to guess it's the sensor that reads the remote but in his mind he fixed it. He didn't care to understand or troubleshoot and then tells us to come back and he'll put the old bulb back in and give us a refund. So for 2 weeks we've had no TV and now we have to make another trip there for the same issue we initially brought it in for. What a crook!

Do they ever answer their phones? I have a dual deck VCR that is having an issue and I'd like to have them look at it, but the past few days I've been trying to get them on the phone and they never answer. UPDATE: I guess I just had bad luck the times I tried to call. I did get through and the gentleman I spoke to was very nice. I brought my VCR right over for him to look at and a day or two later he called, telling me what the problem was, that he would repair it and how much it would cost. The price he quoted was very reasonable. I will update once I get the machine back but at the moment I am very pleased with their service.

Honest and smart. He is the last of the electronics repair shops in an age of disposable things.

I have been bringing electronic items to "Superior Electronics" for the last few years. I generally don't write reviews, but being there are so few posted I wanted to add my 2 cents as a thank you for their effort on my behalf. -If you have anything with a plug in need of repair, this is the place -If you want a fair and reasonable price for a repair, this is the place. -If you want a free estimate for repair, this is the place. -if you want a shop that stands by their repair (be reasonable on your expectation about electronics- as a many items can and do go bad over time), this is the place. I won't go anywhere else as the honesty, fairness and a very reasonable owner work this business. Give them a shot, this is the place.

Took an old Carver amplifier to see if it was worth repairing. The gentleman, told me it would be free of charge to open it and check it. A day later he called me, and gave me a fair price to repair it, and said it would be ready in a week. 2 days later, he called me, and it was ready for pick up. I installed it the next day, works fine. Highly reccomended
