We’ve been coming here for over 20 years. And they have the best selection of middle eastern goods. The pickled veggies are always amazing and fresh. I can spend an hour just looking through the shelves. And I love supporting a family owned business.

A destination specialty market for thirty+ years, I always leave Tavlin with an amazing array of goodies. The prepared foods are always fresh and delicious. The selection of homemade borekas and frozen savory pastries is incredible. They also have great dried fruit and chocolates and make wonderful platters. The grocery section is full of great middle eastern treats. In my personal opinion, the in-store marinated olives are life changing (I would never eat a green olive before I ate these!) and don’t skip dessert! The chocolate kokosh and biscocho cookies are WOW. And by the way, the owners are the warmest and friendliest people.

Their halwas and baklava are vegan. Falafel was excellent, not dry. Tahini, hummus, moroccan couscous, and mujadara all very tasty

Tavlin has lots of vegan options which are clearly marked, and the owners and employees are friendly and knowledgeable about what vegan means. They have frozen vegan borekas to cook at home, and the best hummus and Moroccan eggplant salad. They've got to-go soups & salads too. They serve hot borekas at the store but those are not vegan, unfortunately. Pick up a pack of their pitas to go with your hummus bc they're the best!
They've also got jelly rings and other vegan chocolates and snacks that you can buy by the pound.
There's plenty of parking in the side lot. I always stop here whenever I'm on LI.

I don't know what's better about Tavlin.. the food or The people. Walking into Tavlin is like walking into your family's house; they are happy to see you, let you try what they are cooking. It is just always a pleasure. Best hummus on LI.

Took a walk and strolled into Tavlin. As soon as you walked in your smacked in the face with the smell of fresh food. It's a small little market but they have a lot shelf items that were unfamiliar to me and I would go back to try. This time around I got some marinated mushrooms, labne with olive oil and zattar and laffa bread. I had never had labne before. It sounded/looked good. I could've asked the man because he was very nice and welcoming but just decided to unknowingly try it and im glad I did. I would describe as a Mediterranean cream cheese almost. It's delicious. They've been there for 33 years and I hope they continue to thrive. I can't wait to go back
