There were wonderful people that welcomed you at the door to greet you as you came in. There were people handling the food that helped you if needed. Wonderful place.

Reminds me of my grandfather, 60 years ago. Same creaky floors, same wandering "I wonder what's in this room?," Same friendly feeling. Big Differences however, my grandfather NEVER offered to buy me a beer and he didn't even have a TV. Not my home Legion, but I'm here almost as often.
