I had to rent a vehicle while in town over Christmas. Unfortunately with last minute rentals over holidays they jack the rates up. The reason for renting was to more easily arrange healthcare for my elderly parents. I was quoted a price of $367.00 for 3 days, fine. I ended up returning the car about an hour and a half later than the contract said and was charged an extra $150.00 which is ridiculous. As AVIS refused to budge on this, I filed a NYS AG complaint. Renters beware.As a follow up. The car was completely gassed up and not in any sort of accident/incidents.

Car returned 3 hours early. No one to receive me as they were closed. It is now ben over an hour since they opened. No one answers the phone there, the avis 800# says they can't help me! Wasted a lot of time on phone systems with ridiculous automated voice recognition, I refuse to use it! All inquiries and issues could be resolved with people talking to people! Ugh!

They hit me with nearly $100 in sneaky fees after a one day rental. I could never recommend a company that operates this way.Put your prices up-front. Stop this shady business practice.

Cause had damaged cigarette burns on drivers side carpet it looked like it was 10 years old it was so beat up car was dirty it smelled like weed and cigarettes told the person at counter said it was all noted returned car never received my hood of 250 back on top of 2 days later charged my account 300 dollars for cleaning when it was already dirty when I got it which I told the girl I wouldn’t even give them a star but can’t post with out one

I had to book a rental last-minute on Labor Day because my car broke down on the highway. I was with my young daughter and elderly mother. This Avis office was the only one open and I was able to book a nice SUV at the last possible minute before they closed for the night. I was then able to extend the rental easily online while my car was being repaired. Both agents I dealt with at rental and return were easygoing and friendly.

Very poor customer service. Very long line at Buffalo airport…there was just one clerk last Sunday afternoon with a line almost out the door. Plus, there is no way to connect with the counter at BGM. All calls go to corporate and they could not help. I need to drive there to inquire about some missing luggage.

It wasn’t the best rental experience and I probably won’t rent a car again from Avis. Went to pick up my midsized suv. When I opened the door the car smelled like cigarettes. So much that I couldn’t even sit in the automobile. I was crunched for time so I did . My husband came over and was shocked at how it reeked of smoke .Went to desk, employee seemed annoyed. Not a sorry, not a let me fix it but a “ you’ll have to wait for me to clean a car if you want a different one.” I had To wait . She was put out that I wanted to wait. Finally got my “ other” car and it did not smell of smoke. I guess I did Not like how it was handled, how I was made to feel. I do Not recommend renting from Avis at the Binghamton airport. I’ve rented from other places and NEVER was unsatisfied with the car or service. The older gentleman who brought the “new “ rental was sweet and kind.

avis provided an efficient pleasant and workable rental experience the car provided was exactly what we needed and the staff was top notch at Binghamton Airport ! we will definitely rent from Avis again ! the entire experience was hands down the best rental experience we’ve ever had we’ve rented with other lead companies and they don’t hold a candle to the outstanding experience we had with Avis ! We will use an airport rental service from now on going forward ! And that service will be AVIS !

In the end, all was fine. BUT...I booked a car "Ford Fiesta or similar". At pick up they wanted to give me a Mazda Miata. A Fiesta could accomodate 4 passengers and a small amount of luggage, a Miata is a 2 seater with essentially no trunk. These are in NO way similar vehicles. Luckily, they had a Chevy Camaro which had similar passenger and cargo space to a Fiesta - no extra charge. PLEASE fix you system so no one who books "Fiesta" gets stuck with a Miata.

I have rented 2 previously times from this location. I have always found the staff kind and helpful. The xras, always clean and usually have an unexpected upgrade. This review is an experience I have had the last 2 days, I was heading to NY from Nevada and with the wildfires in Canada , I had to postpone my trip, that being said, Ashley from the front desk was incredible to say the least. She went above and beyond in every aspect of my booking and late arrival and cancellation. With all of the stress etc of travel, it was light at the end of the tunnel to have such an amazing customer service experience. I can't thank her enough.

Binghamton airport Avis was easy to find. The staff was friendly. The car was decent and clean. The return is a little confusing because return spots aren't identified.

So glad we found this gem! Avis process was by far the fastest and most efficient car rental I've ever experienced! Drop off was just as fast. Will definitely use it again and recommend to all of our friends and family (prices were also very reasonable).

Quick and easy. I reserved a vehicle a month in advance and everything was ready to go. They offered me a Dodge Charger (which would have been great), but I needed something bigger an 4wd, so I got a Jeep Cherokee at no extra cost. Highly recommend.

When I picked up the rental from the Greater Binghamton Airport the car was covered in snow and ice. There was no snow brush in the rental to use to clean off the car at all. Therefore, I had to clean the car off by hand. Then, sit and wait for some of the ice to melt so that I could see out of the windshield to drive. Meanwhile a working came through the parking lot and saw me waiting for the car and cleaning it off by hand and didn't offer me a snow brush or offer to help at all. The car was also very dirty on the outside and the inside was dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke. After I left the airport from picking up the vehicle I quickly had to find a gas station to stop at and get some windshield washer fluid because there was not a drop in the car at all! It was not safe to drive in those conditions. The car also was sue for an oil change and oil pressure light was on while I was driving. Finally, as I was driving down to the Baltimore airport as it got later in the evening, I had to pull over and stop and clean the windshield on the inside because I couldn't see out of the windshield with all of the streaks. I was not happy with this rental and how I was treated by Avis at all.
