Went in person to make an appt after calling these days in a row just to be given a paper with the same number I've been calling. Not sure why I can't make an appointment in person, what does the guy at the front desk do other than piss people off?

While it is absolutely impossible to reach a person at the IRS by the phone, if you can get in and see them in person they are incredibly patient and helpful (in my experience). Well worth the visit.

It is upsetting to see that no answers are posted to questions. Just need to speak with a person for a couple of minutes. Is there a way to do that. I have tried every number I can find and no live persons or chats to be found.
