Living at University Lofts has been a game-changer for me as a Bing student. The apartments are nice and having my own bathroom is a HUGE plus. I love the convenience of the IN-UNIT washer and dryer! The study lounges are cozy and perfect for group projects, and the gym is great for squeezing in a workout between classes. The management team is amazing; they’re always friendly and quick to help with any issues. If you want a place that feels like home and supports your student lifestyle, University Lofts is the way to go!

I have only lived at Ulofts for two months, and under the new management company. I moved here fall of 2023 and yes, there are issues with the apartments but please keep reading. The short story is that there are issues with every student living complex up here. The difference that I appreciate with Ulofts is that when you have problems, if management can help, they will. GM Amy and [other manager, I think] Patrick are wonderful, hardworking people. I have had a decent amount of issues with my unit upon arrival, and maintenance has gotten on it as soon as they could. It is really easy to make a request on your resident portal. Maintenance are super helpful and kind as well. Most of the issues with the building are leftover from former management, and the new company is doing what they can to remedy it. I will say- the apartment was not clean when I moved in. They just waxed over old dirt [and hair] on the bathroom floors [I have bleached and scrubbed the floor three times- its just there], my shower drain was clogged, and I vacuumed the night I moved in and it was clear nobody had done so beforehand. Top of fridge and cabinets had years worth of dust, but if you're moving into a new apartment its gonna be something you have to take care of either way. As far as I am aware, they are working on improving the cleaning staff. Again, the new management company only came in a few weeks before move in. I have had zero bugs, zero issues with critters, and while some of the furniture had minor damage upon move in, it got repaired pretty much immediately. There is not a lot of storage space in my unit. My friends have another unit a few floors away from me and they have a coat closet and a pantry. My unit has neither. We wound up just buying and building a cheap pantry from Home Depot. Anything you want to store may have to stay under your bed. I will say, the walls are pretty decent. I cannot hear my neighbors, but I can hear people in the hallway, and I can hear conversations as I walk down the hallways. It is also pretty loud whenever the people above me flush the toilets but I cannot hear them walking around or talking. The flushing wont wake me out of a sleep, but it does startle me sometimes sitting on the couch if its quiet. If windows matter to you- make that very clear when you are signing a lease. Many of the apartments have partially or fully obscured windows. However, generally if you ask for windows with sunlight specifically, they will communicate with you about availability. Also, the lighting inside the units kind of sucks. When they say to bring lamps, they mean it, bring lamps. Apartments have washer/dryer in unit. They are somewhat small but I have had no issues doing a weeks worth of laundry. Building is pretty secure. Depending on what door you enter through, it may require two scan ins to get into the building which I like. The amenities are as promised though I have not used them. I don't love the parking situation. You have to pay monthly to park in the LAZ parking garage attached to the building [right now it is $90 a month]. The actual garage is a hot mess, and sometimes just wont let you in or out, but this is not the fault of Ulofts. Printing House right next door uses the same garage. Overall, I've enjoyed my living here. It is secure, reliable, and though it isn't perfect the staff will work with you to help in any way that they can. It is walking distance of anywhere you would want to go downtown, and although my unit is pretty close to the street, I never hear street traffic. Sometimes a siren here and there but rarely. Amy at the desk is so sweet and if you have an issue, the staff will hear you out. I can't promise that they will grant every request, but they will hear you and they care about their resident satisfaction. I give four stars now, but with the new management I think it could be worth 5 in years coming. I'd recommend to take a tour and genuinely consider, just know there is only one model room and its not necessarily indicative of every unit

False advertisement!! (1 star)On the day of the tour, Amy showed me a model apartment and told me I was going to get something similar, only to get something entirely different from what she showed me when I moved in. When I confronted her she told me there’s nothing they can do about it. To be honest I moved in here partly because of the nice reception I received on the day of the tour. And how nice the amenities looked. Just don’t have any expectations when you’re moving in here.I’m very disappointed!!!Update!! (5 star)After expressing my dissatisfaction with the new unit I was given, Patrick (the new manager) and Amy got together to ensure my concerns were addressed. Although I was not given a new unit, they went out of their way to accommodate my needs, and that means a lot in my books. Thank you!!!

Its nice just in a sketchy area and not happy that the parking lot doesn't have cameras being it is open to the public and anyone can be wandering around in there when my kid gets home late from college. I think it needs on site security keeping a eye out for our kids. The staff at the loft is amazing. We LOVE Amy! And seems like new management is trying hard to accommodate the students there.

Amy is a godsend, the sweetest most caring individual who is always there to help and go above and beyond for the residents. It is a privilege to have her caring for the residents and I will miss her positive energy. The living space and amenities are great and I recommend to anyone looking for student apartment housing in downtown Binghamton.

Management is the worst. Was charged $500 for "damages" that had already been there. Would not recommend this place at all.

My daughter's penthouse was absolutely disgusting. From the dirty carpet to the smallest of windows to the worst shower pressure. Absolute garbage for the money.

We received a bill for touch up paint in the kitchen and drip pans totalling $209 when my son moved out this summer. I called to complain and was told to dispute the charges, that many were issued this year, and many other parents were very upset. I disputed the charges. I feel touch up paint is regular maintenance that should be handled by the building. I sent 2 emails and made numerous phone calls to follow up and was continually told it was still being reviewed. Well today I get a notice from a collection agency!I don't feel this was handled correctly. I keptfollowing up, and instead of letting me know my dispute was denied you dump me to a collection agency?!How about all the amemenities we paid for that we were unable to use during covid shutdown. How about a refund for that?! I wouldn't even bring that up up except how angry I am to be treated this way. A phone call or an email would have been a more respectful way to treat a tenant who was never late with the rent..... Ever

DO NOT LIVE HERE! Management is atrocious. They charged me nearly $500 when I moved out, including to replace my mattress, which is absolutely absurd considering there was nothing beyond normal wear and tear and I only actually lived in the apartment for less than 4 months. They also charged me for cleaning in the kitchen, despite the fact that I cleaned everything before I left. When I emailed them about these charges, nobody ever even responded to me. Outraged is an understatement.

Do NOT rent from this location. They show you a glamorous unit, tell you to sign early so that you’ll have a unit that looks like the show unit… that does not happen! Windows don’t open, if there are windows, some face a brick wall or a generator…there is uneven laminate flooring, all the ceilings are painted black, dim lighting, etc. do not rent here!

I've never left a review anywhere but I need to now. To preface, Amy the receptionist is wonderful. She, and the other receptionists for the most part, are the only helpful people on staff. The new management, which has changed three times in this past year, does not seem to care about residents and takes advantage of the fact that we are all young students in likely our first apartment situation who don't know any better then to just file the maintenance report they have available. My unit has been without air conditioning for two weeks, all of which has been during spring FINALS WEEK. There is zero air flow and it has been over 90 degrees outside this past week. We are all juniors taking very difficult courses and unable to concentrate during our tests because it is over 80 degrees in our home. We have been sweltering hot, unable to sleep, and told that it would be fixed every day only to hear that they don't consider it enough of an emergency to fix promptly. An entire line of pipe in the ceiling has been leaking nonstop for two weeks. My dresser is wet and the wood will likely warp. The carpet got wet. The common area is wet. This is extremely unprofessional and unfair considering we pay the premium for "deluxe housing" in a unit with already inadequate lighting, and now no AC for half of a month. We are not being given amenities or anything to compensate for the lack of AC and it has been an awful last two weeks in ULofts, and an overall lacking experience (save Amy, such a kind woman).
