Service was good. Food was average, at best.Experience was a downer from the front gate - they charge $10 to park if you are not staying at the Sagamore. Build it into the already overpriced menu.Been coming here for 30+ years. It is not what it used to be.

Had brunch at La Bella Vita during our stay at the Sagamore hotel. The brunch experience was outstanding. All three of us loved the spread. We will definitely be back in the morning for another round!

Excellent food and service. They can accommodate your special dietary needs including gluten and egg allergies. Salads are delicious. Fresh fish tends to be overcooked and thus dry; some of the food can be salty. Pizza is high quality and delicious. Enjoy.

Beautiful view. Food was so-so. One dish had so much garlic it was borderline inedible, the pizza served was cold. Disappointing for the price and the $20 parking fee

The Sagamore is a veritable institution within the Adirondacks and La Bella Vita is the main restaurant for the resort hotel. It is very large, includes a good sized bar/entrance, a very spacious interior eating area and an equally large terrace facing the interior grounds and Lake George. It is all quite spectacular. The menu is extensive with an emphasis on seafood, and most palettes should be satisfied. We only stopped by for lunch (we were not staying on site) and had the Lobster Ravioli (very good), a Crispy Chicken Sandwich (very good) and a Caesar Salad (also good). The service was very friendly and attentive, and the food was delivered quickly and hot. All in all a very pleasant experience. Enjoy!

Here for dinner- too bright but that’s a minor point. I had the spaghetti with hand rolled meatballs. Spaghetti was overdone , meatballs were so-so. My wife had the veal scallopini which was tough and gamey. Go elsewhere for Italian. The food was clearly sub-par. Service was bad. For over $600/night, I recommend take a European vacation. The rates they charge is not where it needs to be. Complete rip off!

There is no place like dining outside at La Bella Vita. Amazing cuisine, service and view.Dietary restrictions: Great for gluten free dining

All I can ask is - What happened to the Sagamore’s elite service and fine dining? So disappointing. It is one of those experiences that you say “ oh well” we will never go to the Sagamore again.Sad.

What a beautiful day it was. Took 2 of my friends to see The Sagamore. They had some beverages, sat outside, taking in the air, the grounds and the surrounding landscape. They enjoyed it so much they wanted to stay for dinner. Reservations were tight, but they were able to accommodate us. Food was excellent as it always is. They will be back.

We ordered an egg sandwich ($18), eggs benedict ($20) and 2 cups of coffee and it was $45.00. The egg sandwich was on a bagel with scrambled eggs and was no better than a Dunkin Donuts breakfast sandwich, the eggs benedict was sup-par and the coffee was awful. The view was nice. We will NEVER go back there for breakfast. There is a little shop in town that has an egg sandwich for $8 and it looked so much better than what we had.

Sad and disappointing experience. Were it not for the view, the reheated overpriced frozen Sysco food that is served would be unacceptable at a greasy diner. After sitting down we noticed water dripping on the table. Looking up was a long vent with condensed water and black mold which was over a line of perhaps 12 tables. When asked to move and they replied that they would just take care of it. Apparently they intended to use the mold ridden extended mop over our table while we remained seated. Dismayed but remaining pleasant we all stood up and said, “we will switch tables so please do your thing”. We switched and they sat another unsuspecting group there. The new table seemed fine and we ordered. The food then took 100 minutes to come out and our party of 4 was served at different times. They then apologized saying the kitchen was backed up, yet the place was about 1/2 full. Clearly they lost our order. But all during that time our server seemed to not notice and did nothing to alleviate the situation such as bringing over bread or even water. The room appeared to be in complete disarray and staff completely lacked any training. There were no standards of service that were visible at any time throughout the room. The food itself when it did arrive was very underwhelming. Just blah. At these prices one would expect a chef prepared meal and not a reheated frozen entree. Just awful. To top it off there was a family eating nearby that clearly thought they were in their own home. We even witnessed them yelling at staff. If negative stars were available I would give them a minus 2.

If I could select zero stars, I would do so. We went to celebrate a birthday at Bella Vita, and emerged tired, disappointed and angry. Once we were seated, we were given one cocktail menu for six people. We called the waiter over and asked for more menus. We eventually received one more, rather than the appropriate number for the table. The same happened with something as basic as butter, where we again had to ask and wait for enough butter for 6 people. We placed our drink order, and when the drinks came, one of them was not correct. These three steps took over 30 minutes. At this point, one of us went to speak to the host. We asked to either get a new waiter or be switched to another table. We also reminded him that there was a request for a birthday candle with dessert, and pointed out the person in our party who was celebrating. The host stared blankly and did nothing to address the service situation as the waiter continued to disappear frequently. As a result, the meal took over 3 hours, despite having an elderly person with us who was so tired by the end, she could barely walk. Of course, we all would have found the lengthy wait easier to tolerate if the food was wonderful. Sadly, it was not. The fish was dry, the meat was bland and tasteless. Dirty, used dishes and glasses remained uncleared through dessert. When we placed our dessert order, the waiter, rather than bringing the birthday celebrant's dessert with a lit candle, asked him if he wanted a candle. So much for a surprise! At no time did the host come over to our table to see if the service had improved. Nor was the atmosphere helped by the presence of a large dog in the dining room, and unsupervised children running around. We have been fortunate enough to eat at some of the finest restaurants in New York, and the idea that this restaurant cost more than some Michelin-starred dining establishments would almost be funny, if it wasn't such a total failure. Everyone in our party left feeling dispirited. On our way out, the host again missed an opportunity to rescue the evening and said nothing to us. Just a terrible, terrible experience from start to finish. Save your money and spend it anywhere else. The hospitality, the food, and the service are bound to be better.
