About Almond

Almond debuted on the Hamptons restaurant scene in the spring of 2001. The affordable French bistro quickly became one of the top spots in the Hamptons for locals, celebrities and tourists. “Almond has brought French bistro to the Hamptons,” stated Joanne Starkey of the New York Times. Chef Jason Weiner quickly established himself in the Hamptons as top toque and over the years has established a very strong commitment to using locally farmed products and local produce to support the local community.

Other Information

This downtown Bridgehampton bistro is the brainchild of friends and business partners Eric Lemonides and Jason Weiner. The two larger-than-life personalities welcome guests, watch over each detail and make everyone feel taken care of. In the kitchen, Weiner turns out the reasonably priced French-inspired fare, with an emphasis on local produce and an intriguing soupçon of Japanese influence and a keen understanding of plant-based dining. Start with the local Montauk pearl oysters or the soy pickled fried sunchokes with lemongrass and ginger aïoli. Move on to entrées like "le grand" macaroni and cheese with prosciutto and truffles or the semolina pappardelle with house-made ragù. Desserts range from richer options of sticky toffee date cake to a traditional French cheese plate and lighter ice creams and sorbets. The Meatless Monday menu offers frequently changing selections of meatless appetizers, mains and desserts, each crafted with the same eye for detail and creativity: kimchi fries and shiitake enchiladas are just some of the dishes you may find. The succinct wine list comprises a good French selection with a few local bottles as well.
