“If you care about art and value, stop scrolling. J Mackey isn’t just a lovely space to wander into on a pretty East Hampton block—it’s one of the rare places where the owner and her team have an eye for spotting emerging artists before others catch on—and also celebrating established artists.
Everything is beautifully curated with intention—beyond gorgeous pieces, Justine represents artists who are building credible secondary markets.
Add to that: zero pretension and informed conversation that meets you wherever you are in your art journey. Whether you’re seasoned or just starting your collection, this is a gallery that makes you feel welcome and leave inspired.”
“Beautiful Art Gallery! Vibrant and eclectic assortment of art that is inspiring. Warm and welcoming atmosphere which you absolutely must drop in to view, browse and possibly make a nice purchase on your next visit to Sag Harbor. Highly recommended!”
“Wonderful gallery! Beautiful aesthetic and all art presented is appealing and unique. Julie and Lucas were especially kind and welcoming during our visit to “The Lost Weekend - The Photography of May Pang”. Ms. Pang was also kind and welcoming during our viewing of her photography of John Lennon, which was phenomenal. May’s photography adds an entirely new dimension to John’s legacy, and it was an opportunity of a lifetime to take in and reflect on these photos. We definitely will be returning to the Julie Keyed Gallery in Sag Harbor in the near future. Highly recommended!”
“My experience with Hampton Post and Frame was so professional. The showroom is large and well organized. They have plenty of samples and they are very experienced. I am an artist so custom made frames are very important to my work. Joan and Trina are experts. I highly recommend them.Liz Sloan”
“At the Southampton Arts Center, “Second Skin” really nails it—an honest response to what’s going on culturally right now, with artists from all kinds of backgrounds. Curated by the awesome Estrellita B. Brodsky, it explores clothing as a form of art. I loved “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” at The Met, but this show stuck with me even more. The pieces are super effective, and even while tackling heavy social issues, it somehow leaves you feeling hopeful—and even smiling. Thanks Christina Mossaides Strassfield, Executive Director of this Arts Center, and all the team. Can’t miss!!! Smart, moving, and it sticks with you—go see Second Skin.”
“Ric Michel Fine Art is a great find! The artwork is breathtaking. Ric explains the story and inspiration behind each of the paintings beautifully. Worth the trip!! ?”
“Potter is so talented. Does beautiful work. I've bought many pieces from here and get many compliments when serving with one of the many pieces I have. They are practical as well as beautiful.”
“Finally, an edgy, truly contemporary art gallery in conservative Southampton! Owner Tripp is a young, charming, talented, creative, smart gallery owner/curator with impeccable taste. He consistently organizes interesting, fabulous art exhibitions. His openings and parties are fun. Kudos to him for his East Hampton accomplishment - another cool art gallery! Keep up the great work, Tripp!”

“Canio's Books is as if an angel picked up a bookstore in Greenwich Village in the 1950s and planted it, unchanged and unchanging, in Sag Harbor. Canio, Maryann and Kathryn make everyone feel at home among stacks and stacks of books. In a world gone made with electronics and instant gratification and being high-tech, Canio's is an oasis of hope and enlightenment. Viva Canio's.”
“VJS Studio are the only professionals I will use! Their staff is not only knowledgeable about their products, but extremely creative in their design suggestions and advice. The time they spend learning about and listening to their clients ensure their work is unsurpassed. I highly recommend VJS Studio for all your framing needs!”
“Sara Nightingale is the most honest and kind gallery owner I've had the pleasure of meeting. She was patient with me and extremely knowledgable regarding the work in her gallery.Highly recommend if you're in the area. Thanks again Sara!”
“I don't know what all the whining is about - when I go into a bookstore if the proprietor is friendly and chatty I can't look at books! The people who work here are nice enough and VERY knowledgeable if you have questions which is probably the most important thing, no? Well actually the most important thing is the books - and the books are AMAZING. Seem pretty fairly priced too, with some real gems. If you're in East Hampton and you like art and books this place is not to be missed.”
“Bright and uplifting, playful, yet serious. Wonderful show. Such interesting pop art, abstracts, sculpture and so much more in a lovely new space. Friendly and welcoming gallerists.”
“Serious art gallery and jewelry store by renowned gallerist Stella Flame. It is always worth a visit, everyone is very friendly and knowledgable. The gallery also exhibits latest paintings by artist Sandy Cohen. I especially love the 'Native New Yorker' painting and the hand designed jewelry pieces.”
