They did an excellent job on 2 LR chairs, 4 DR chairs and custom pillows. Professional, easy to deal with and reasonable. Highly recommend.

I received my 50+ year-old Castro Convertibles sofa yesterday afternoon and I am so impressed by the attention to detail that Denise and Enrique paid to the reupholstering of it. Enrique was very attentive in terms of helping me pick out a fabric that was affordable, pretty, and durable. I had an administrative issue that was resolved. Despite that, I still give them a 5. They even pick up and deliver. I would recommend this business to anyone.

The folks at Custom Design Studio are professional and do excellent work. They are very easy to work with, and were extremely kind in holding my beautifully upholstered couch for a time until I was able to move into my apartment. I highly recommend them.

I'm wondering about these reviews because my experience was the opposite. I went to this store on Saturday morning, a guy with a nasty attitude was there. I asked him for an estimate for a full size sofa bed re upholstery. He said in a laconic way $1200! I was shocked, I said the sofa costed 500 when I bought it brand new and he added "whatever that is what is going to cost you" and I simply left the store without saying anything. Awful experience, certainly I don't recommend this store!

I must admit that I'm an amateur when it comes to furniture reupholstery. In fact, the job I brought to Custom Design Studio was very small, and not really worth their time and amazing talent. However, Denise helped me out anyway and did a great job right on the spot. The price was very reasonable, and she went above and beyond my specifications, repairing not only missing tufting buttons, but loose tufting buttons as well. I'll absolutely be returning to this place for bigger furniture reupholstery projects and recommending them to others. Thank you!

I called Denise with a project to save my Carlyle couch. After 15 years through pets, kids and wear & tear this couch was listed in my book as really scary & a little dated but I still had hope for it. After Denise and her crew restored it with the fabric I brought them I was so pleasantly shocked to see this couch looked better than when I purchased it. I clearly saw all the little improvements with the padding & style in designing the upholstery that brought my couch back to better than new. I also ordered custom pillows that were beautifully designed to provide great accents for my couch and living room. At Custom Design Studio you will find amazing craftmenship, polite service,& quick completion of your project. This place is a true find better work, service and much better prices than the upholstery places in Manhattan. Denise is easy to work with and really cares about the work they do there. Five stars for an excellent job well done from a great small business!!

I almost hate writing this review as this place is a fantastic SECRET and as soon as word gets out I probably can't get my work done so quickly or for such great prices again. Simply put, Denise (the owner and MASTER upholsterer) is an artist! She is uber-precise, detail-oriented and super-nice to boot. I had some great pieces, some of which came from my mother-in-law, who can afford great furniture like George Smith and antique Henredon. I, on the other hand, have champagne taste and a beer (ok, domestic wine) budget. I needed to re-upholster these pieces but could not stomach the cost of a professional interior designer and their markups. However, I did want the designer fabrics that only licensed interior designers can access. (sigh). After many calls to famous fabric houses only to be rejected in my attempts to purchase directly from them, I found a couple of outlets through Google that sell designer textile remnants (anywhere up to 20 yards, in some cases!) Denise was super-gracious when I brought her my fabrics and she and I planned the design of my re-upholstery pieces together. Any nervousness I had about the process (as a novice) was completely eradicated by the kindness, professionalism and affordability of this wonderful artist! My pieces are STUNNING and everyone who has visited me (including my mother-in-law who has incredibly good taste and the matching eye) has raved about them and assumed I paid a fortune to have them re-done. Even though my home will never be featured in a design magazine, Denise and her team made my furniture pieces look like they ought to be!
