I’ve been going to Doonan Tax Services for over 15 years, and I’ve never had a bad experience, not even once. The entire staff is welcoming and makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. They’re always professionall, patient, and genuinely care about their clients.
What really sets them apart is how up to date they are with the new tax laws and changes. They always keep us informed and explain everything clearly . I wouldn’t go anywhere else!!. Highly recommend.

I used this tax office for years. They always gave me an issue with writing off my miles. Last year’s filing made me leave this office forever. I received a check for overpaying the government because this office doesn’t care about their customers. Since Doonan left, they seem very unorganized and are always scrambling. Frank kept charging me more and more money very year. We stayed at 480 for my wife and I and it became 980 last year. I was ok with 980 but they were going to make me pay late fees because they couldn’t finish my taxes on time. I used turbo tax and it turned out to be much better results than This office and I saved over 700 dollars on fees. I will never trust anyone to do my finances again!!!!

I had the worst experience of my life at this accounting office. I came in to get my taxes done, expecting professional service, but instead was met with judgment, disrespect, and what felt like clear discrimination.
The first thing the representative asked me—before even introducing himself—was how much I had paid my previous accountant. I told him $150, and explained that my financial situation had changed since then, as I now own multiple investment properties. I also made it clear that I was willing to pay whatever was necessary, as long as my taxes were done correctly.
Instead of discussing my needs, he abruptly said, “Here, we charge a minimum of $600. You should go back to Washington Heights—it will be cheaper there.” As a Dominican woman, I found that comment not only offensive, but rooted in a harmful stereotype. I was shocked and deeply hurt. It made me feel like I was being judged solely based on where I’m from, rather than respected as a paying client seeking a service.
At no point did the representative even introduce himself—I left the office without ever knowing his name. It was as if I wasn’t worthy of even that basic courtesy.
When I brought this to the manager’s attention, I expected empathy and accountability. Instead, he got angry—not at his staff, but at me, for speaking up about how I was treated. His reaction made things even worse. Rather than offering a sincere apology or taking the issue seriously, he made me feel even smaller, as if my feelings were a burden rather than valid. I left the office in tears, feeling humiliated and unwelcome.
No one should ever be made to feel less than because of their background. Discrimination has no place in business—especially in a professional service environment where trust and respect should come first. This experience made it clear to me that I was not being seen as a client, but as a stereotype. And that is absolutely unacceptable.
I hope this firm reflects seriously on how they treat people from different backgrounds. Every person who walks through your door deserves to be treated with dignity and professionalism—nothing less

I live in California and only trust Doonan Tax Services with my taxes. They are amazing and thorough. The years that I have been with them they have been nothing but professional and courteous. There communication is on point and prompt. I have never experienced any issues with my tax returns. I am extremely happy with them and would highly recommend to anyone.

Excellent service from the moment you walk in. I would highly recommend them. They are very profesional and efficient . I have been with them for years and so has my family. I have never encounter any problems with my returns nor my family. I must say my taxes were a bit complicated due to retirement and moving out of state and they were with me step by step. I greatly appreciate everyone working in that office. Great professional team
