Helped me out immediately. I needed my wiper arm to be bent into place because it was leaving a gap when I went to put my wipers on. Fixed it before I could even get his name.

They do quality work, and are honest with their diagnoses and prices, but the men in charge are the rudest, most unkind group of gentlemen I have ever encountered at a repair shop in my life - and I’ve lived all around the country. If you are having a bad day, they are inclined to be even meaner, so bring your thickest skin, brace for battle, or go elsewhere.

I can't thank these guys enough for their honesty, respect, and great service. I had my car serviced a couple of weeks ago due to my engine light on. I explained my situation and after leaving my car at the shop, a few hours later I received a call with a diagnosis and solution with a price. I also was given a time estimate on when the car would be ready. I forgot to mention- I took my car to the dealership a month prior for the same issue to have my engine light yet again appear.
Not only did they fix the issue, they were a reasonable price and I felt they were honest. Today I brought my car in due to a squeaky sound thinking it's my brakes. Turns out my brakes/rotors were all fine and didn't require any work. Yet again honest and they didn't charge me to check the car.
As a woman I always fear going to a mechanic because I have experienced not so friendly or honest service in the past. This shop is a neighborhood staple and will continue to have me as a loyal customer.

Needed an inspection on a pinch. I had two people in front of me, but they prioritized the inspection so I could stay in town instead of taking a cab back home.
Got it done quickly, didn’t try to upsell me on anything. Very kind and professional team.

I am reading the past reviews of this business, and feel like I must have been at a completely different station, with entirely different people working there. I brought my car in because my brakes failed on the highway, and I had to be towed home from Connecticut, so this was a major potentially quite dangerous issue.
I explained to the owner that the failure of the brakes did not occur each and every time I put my foot down, that occasionally the pedal held. Also, after cooling off in the morning, the brakes were working normally, and asked what this sounded like to him.
He said it could be a bad brake line, calipers, cylinder, brake pads. I knew that a brake line cut would leave me with NO brakes and would not affect them intermittently.
But I did leave the car at night, and on my way to work, called the station. They said they had had the car on the lift earlier, but now took it down, and would not work on the car until the next day. They also told me that the problem was that I needed brake pads. Though I am happy to get pads if they were somewhat low, I know that worn pads (not even metal on metal) do not cause a car to NOT STOP on the road, pedal going down to the floor. I said I needed them to find the reason for brake FAILURE, and the owner said "If she doesn't want brake pads, tell her to find a better mechanic." He further said that the brakes were fine when he test drove it, so there was nothing to fix. Period. Pads or nothing.
They insisted that they would leave my car on the street overnight, though I expressed fear that it would be towed or ticketed; they said it would be OK. When I drove past the shop after work in my rental, there was no car on the street outside their shop. I couldn't sleep. As it turns out they had decided to properly put it inside, but I had no way of knowing that and feared the worst all night.
I contacted my regular mechanic in Westchester, who immediately said that my intermittent problem, clearing when the car cooled off, was related to a faulty master cylinder and I had it towed up today, losing extra days of rental, and creating much extra stress.
I wish I had NOT had one of the WORST experiences ever with this station, as it would have been great to have found a reliable, respectful, knowledgeable place closer to home. Sadly, this was a complete disaster I could not recommend to my worst enemy. Well, maybe to my worst enemy (only kidding - I would not wish this experience on anyone). Not really a one star review, but MULTIPLE NEGATIVE STARS for this owner , and it is not a "service" station at all.

I drop my car off, a man takes my name and number on a clipboard. 1-2 hours later, someone calls me to cover pick up my car. By that time, it’s fixed, or has new oil in it. Life doesn’t always work out the way you plan and hope for it to, unlike South Riverdale Service.

I moved to Bronx a few months ago
I asked Jeff a friend of mine who can I trust for a good mechanic
He recommended south riverdale
They day came and my engine light came on so I took my car to them and they where quick to diagnose the problem fixed it and the best part was the price very fair
Honest guys and would sure recommend them amazing service and extremely good prices

Went in for an inspection and asked them to take a look at why my front windshield wiper fluid was not working.Inspection and windshield wiper fluid tube repaired within the hour.What I really appreciated was the technician took the extra effort to attach my registration sticker to the windshield along with my inspection. I hadn’t found the time to scape off my old registration, so my new sticker was just sitting on the dash. I greatly appreciate the technician doing me the favor of scraping off the old sticker and attaching the new.Amazing service and price!
