My mother went to buy some stuff and this two young ladies were very rude and didn't offer to help my mother since she didn't know how to self checkout it was 10pm on a Monday and there was no register open, stop hiring people who do not want to work!!!

Think of it as a minimum working example of a supermarket. The produce is usually picked over. Standing in a line 8 people deep at the only non self-checkout lane because they’re trying to cut checkout jobs. Worker comes and tells everybody in line waiting “No cash, okay?”After shopping here more than 30 times and trying various days and times I haven’t figured out when they actually have scallions. I’ve gotten lucky twice.

Don’t bother trying to get cold cuts. The people that work there couldn’t care less if you were there all day. I can’t wait to get back to CT and away from this ___ hole. If you’re into crunchy defrosted and refrozen 10x ice cream, this is your place.UPDATE- be VERY careful when you use self checkout. Their digital coupons NEVER work, they have to be manually applied literally every single time I come here. This place is an absolute mess. One of the many, many reasons people like me are moving out of the city. We used to accept the high costs for better service or products, now you get neither.

This location is my go-to store. I come here pretty regularly simply out of convenience because it’s close by. I usually never leave comments anywhere but the staff at this location consists mostly of late teens/early twenties who generally don’t care about customer service at all, a simple “hi” is often too much to ask for because you take time away from their phones or their conversations. There is an older (40’s/early 50’s, heavyset) African American female with long hair who is SO unfriendly, she makes it seem like you are personally offending her by even approaching for help. Which you won’t get regardless of what it is? Do you need to know something about an item? It’s probably out of stock. Do you have a problem with your card? Can’t help you. Do you have a problem at the register? She stares at you, doesn’t even answer you, because she wants to go on break and you’re holding her up AND she can’t help you anyway because “oops left my card “. So if you need help, just walk in the opposite direction of her. I don’t know who trains these people, but most of them genuinely don’t have the basics of customer “service” and don’t care to.The only reason I’m giving this store 3 stars at all is RYAN and a couple of others, that I unfortunately don’t know by name, only by description. Ryan is a Rockstar. He’s always kind and helpful. Always goes the extra mile, even if it means he has to stop what he’s doing (e.g. stocking) and help at the register. he always has a kind smile on his face and when he doesn’t know something “he’ll find out” for you. And I appreciate that. So thanks for making this unfriendly place a better shopping experience.Also a huge thank you to the Jamaican lady who always asks “how you’re doing!”, she’s at the register in the evening’s and two latino ladies. One is at the register, slim build with glasses and a slight accent and she is “all knowing” lol in terms of stop and shop things, I mean she just knows her stuff, she’s super sweet, always kind, efficient. The other lady is a manager I believe , also short, longer hair, her glasses might be on top of her head (not sure if she has any) beyond efficient, super nice, if you have a question, she’ll take her time to explain it to you. And always smiles when she sees you.And then there is the kind security guard, in the evenings (short) who’s always friendly and one particular worker, big guy, glasses, curly black hair I think (can’t really see because of the hat), but he works super hard and is always nice, says hi with a smile on his face and goes above and beyond.An older lady needed something out of the fridge and he went and grabbed it for her from the other side of the fridge because she couldn’t reach it and he was in that room behind the fridge.I was next to her & they were out of a specific kind of milk and I asked if they had any more and he literally started opening boxes in the back even though I told him he didn’t have to do all that. He did anyway and after box # 3 found the one I wanted and handed it to me through the fridge door.Everyone else would’ve simply said “we’re out!” And that would’ve been it.Not him though.It’s tiny things that can make your day sweeter. Kindness never killed anyone and I think a lot of the people working there could do with a little lesson on kindness.

Cashiers are nice but slow maybe it was because I believe she was training a new cashier. But ! Customer service cashier name Ashley was so unprofessional. I told her that the cashier made a mistake and realize the mistake and recommended to go to the customer service so I can get my sales value. Ashely sated even though there were no lines. Like I was bothering her. She then took a long time figuring out what was the sale . When I explain that he did not added because he made a mistake and did not charge me for the next product. She looked at the receipt like I was trying to get over and take the item for free. The point was the other item was equal or less value. Meanwhile the manager was hanging there also in a leaning position. As if she was tired. Did not identify herself. Not offer to help. She had to tell Ashley to tent to me because Ashlee pretended to be busy with the machines receipt roll. There are other supermarket but I will continue to shop at stop and shop and will continue to write my reviews.

Watch out for EXPIRED meats and MOLDED produce At this location! Although, groceries have become more expensive. This location seems to charge more than the other Stop&Shop locations. Best to avoid shopping here unless your looking to purchase shelf stable commercial brands of foods. Most of the time this location is always short on products.
