The Internet says they are open until 3 PM on New Year’s Eve, but I went there at 2 PM and they were closed. They had a little paper note on the door that said they were closing at 1 PM, so most of us don’t find out that they’re closing two extra hours early until we waste our time going there, because they couldn’t be bothered to update what they show online.
For me it’s now too late to go somewhere else so now I’m in real trouble. Not that they care because they don’t. Totally on brand for this location. My mistake for giving this place another try. They never fail to disappoint.

Waited 5 minutes and no one came to the counter. Smells like mildew. Don't go there.

It's a dump. I can't imagine what it's like for the ONE woman who works there. You never know when it will be open... I gave it 3 stars just because the postal worker is always so nice to me. I go there at least twice a week. I

Refused delivery for box that was 10lbs measuring 40"x4" because it was too large. Never heard of something like this before.
Other than this exception they're normally okay.

There’s a problem with the employees’ schedule working in this PO. I understand there might be only one clerk but come on 2 hour lunch break? Shameful behavior!!! There are a lot senior citizens in the area that depend on this post office solely! sthey don’t have the mobility to go to the one on 228th street, which is even worse. We should be writing letters/ having meetings with our councilman to bring this to the attention of the authorities.

I've witnessed firsthand how some customers can be quite demanding and unkind, but the staff remains composed and treats everyone with respect. Their patience and grace under pressure are truly commendable, making every visit to the post office a pleasant experience.Moreover, this tiny branch consistently maintains its efficiency. Even during peak hours, the lines move swiftly, and there is a well-organized system in place to ensure that everyone's needs are met promptly. It's evident that the staff is committed to providing top-notch service, no matter how busy the day gets.I am genuinely grateful for this post office and the essential role it plays in our community. Thanks to the dedication of its staff, I always leave with my mailing needs fulfilled and a sense of appreciation for their hard work.

I always am served by the same, sweet, efficient, friendly Asian lady. The facility is tiny and a bit grubby- looking, but postal service, for me, has been very good!

The rudest person you'll ever meet works behind the counter. Just left after trying to ask two questions and got yelled at for not knowing the answer.Lady it's almost like I don't know the answer because I'm not the one working at the post office???

Not sure what you want from a post office, but this one works for me. Perhaps the hours are a bit sporadic at certain times, as it's not open as regularly as the bigger local branches are. But if you have post office needs and are available when it's open, the Kappock branch can be a much less chaotic option to the hubs on Broadway by the elevated Subway tracks at 231st street and the one on Riverdale Ave in North Riverdale.I find this outpost of a branch to be well stocked with whatever mailing supplies I need and contrary to what's been said in other reviews, I find the staff to be affable and courteous, as if they appreciate being in the less hectic small office than the larger ones nearby. Every time I go to the Kappock office, I'm in and out quickly and my time is spent efficiently.Unless it's inconvenient to get to, the Kappock office is a sound option if you want a relatively low-stress post office experience.
