Really? This place is actually allowed to operate in Bronxville? My brother had business in the area and I asked him to pick me up a salad. He returns with a $9.00 Caesar salad from this place and I decide to "feast" on it for lunch...wow, it was terrible and supposedly packed on the day he bought it on 7/20 (notice that it says to sell thru 7/25). I was going to include pictures of the chicken it consisted of, but, it wasn't worth the space on my phone. Dark chicken cubes with the consistency of grainy inedible something...I can't even muster words to describe it. I threw away the chicken and consumed about 40 cents of lettuce with croutons and a package of Caesar dressing. Really?

I went in about a month ago I was looking at cereal and a staff was stocking he yelled at me for being in his way. I have this guy yell at other customers before especially elderly. Insane how he gets away with talking to customers like that. And cashiers never help customers bag.

Usually we only shop in this store for paper goods or detergents. However, today I needed carrots for a dinner that I was preparing for tonight (June 12). Buying carrots here was only for the sake of convenience. Living about 5 minutes from ACME I got home and opened the package of carrots. Horrified! See the pictures below. I wrote the Westchester Dept. of Health and enclosed photos of the molded carrots. If you aren't concerned about yourself and your family you will continue to buy your perishables at ACME. This is just one of the many reasons we only purchase paper goods or detergents. I will also be contacting the Dept. of Agriculture. This market must be closed permanently.

I give up. I've been coming to this location and all the stores that have been in it for decades. It's the closest grocery store to me. Since ACME took over, it has become more and more of an exercise in masochism and today was my last visit. This wasn't the worst, mind you. That was probably the time when I asked a manager who happened to be on the floor if they sold chutney and she told me I was unreasonable for asking. At that time, there were still some of the old employees from when it was an A&P working there, and one of them quietly took me aside and told me what aisle the chutney was in. But today, I got cash back. The kid (16, 17?) holds out 2 $50s. I ask him if he has $20s. He says, "We're not allowed to make change." WTF? I haven't even taken the $50's out of his hand. I say, "That's not making change. Do you have $20s?" He sighs deeply, rolls his eyes extravagantly as if I have asked him to paint my house and says again, "We're not allowed to make change. You have to go to customer service." Because, be warned, customers. We must all do better than to attempt to inconvenience Little Ken this way. I could have made a complaint, but the management is where he got his stellar customer service demeanor. So instead, from now on I will be going to some of the MUCH CHEAPER and MUCH MORE PLEASANT grocery stores that are a little farther away. Buh bye.

High prices, Workers that do do care and the cleanliness of the store is suspect, The refrigerators always seem to be broken or are set on warm. The cuts of meat are sinewy and chicken are always seems to have an orange shading. The Shoprite on Tuckahoe road while more crowded has better prices and selection. Also, the staff there are very helpful unlike Bronxville Acme.

The Worst Supermarket in many ways! Expensive, always poorly stocked, & worst of all is their customer service! In spite of speaking to the management a number of times, most of the cashiers in the store are at best, unresponsive, lacking common courtesy & a few, outrageously rude! Today, I was again treated rudely once more by the very same employee that I reported to management less than a month ago & once before that (Brianna) & thus have decided to post this! I wasn't surprised when I noticed other similar reviews on Yelp. It turns out I am not the only one who has experienced this unacceptable treatment & it's obvious to me now that Acme Supermarkets could not care less about their customers, who by the way, put money into their pockets! I had already cut my shopping way down there because of this in the past & unfortunately their FedEx service there today was more of the same! In all fairness, I finally received a bit of kindness & courtesy from one exemplary employee there ( Doris) but she is the exception in that place, not the rule!

Store has plenty of selection but the service and staff make shopping here a bad experience. Young probably under paid check out staff who do absolutely nothing to assist the customer check out. I watched senior citizens struggling g to pack the bags with not a bit of assistance. Have to ask them to enter your phone so you can get the savings. Check outs act like the customer are just a pain while they struggle to pack up and pay. Sad. Used to be a great store. Makes one love Trader Joe's pleasant and helpful manner. Very poor management throughout. All employees seem uninterested and annoyed.

Selection is lacking. Like all the other reviews say it's surprising such a crummy supermarket is in the heart of Bronxville of all places! High prices and low quality don't understand how it is in business.

If I could give this place a NEGATIVE REVIEW ... I WOULD. I was shopping at the Acme in Bronxville NY in the produce department and I witnessed an employee in the ask her boss for another mask. This employees mask broke and she POLITELY asked her boss (store manager Carl Wickham) for a new one and he told her NO, they will not provide her another one (with a snippy attitude): As a shopper, I felt sickened by this managers lack of consideration for his employees safety. This employee was trying to protect herself as well as customers like me. This issue needs to be addressed especially with the growing cases of COVID-19 in Westchester NY and in GENERAL. I have reached out to corporate and have requested to connect with the district manager to express my concern. This is NOT something you take lightly and I feel for this poor woman! She and other employees like her are making it possible for people to shop the least they can do is protect their employees! Without employees, you would NOT be in business.

I love the supermarket. It has all I need and plus. Very close to home. Prices are a bit high. But, all small supermarkets are like this.

The Acme in Bronxville is a terrible store that just got worse - price gouging in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis! Want chicken? The Acme just doubled the price. Yet another reason to shop somewhere else. And, they are still selling ice cream that has thawed out and been refrozen - after numerous complaints to the store manager and the health department. How can a store this bad be in Bronxville?

Shocking how this low class supermarket was able to open here. The produce section of greens are usually wilting. Most packaged produce doesn't have expiration dates. The organic section is high priced for inferior quality. The frozen food section is apparently ignored. Example: Bryers chocolate 270 calorie per pint is the first to go. The rest sits freezing of boredom and neglect. If Chocolate is preferred by your customers then stock up on it. Don't you idiots know how to do inventory????? Obviously the manager (the tall, rude black dude) hasn't a clue. I asked him if he was getting in more freezer paper. He looked at me with his usual blank look and didn't know what freezer paper is. Next, the diary section. Milk. Lactaid Intolerant for some people. NONE. Customer Service section is either filled with women talking or there isn't a person to be found. This is not a supermarket it's a disgrace. Shut it down and open a reputable market that has good quality food, clean and manages a store properly. If the people that shop there want cheap they can go to Shop and Stop. Your Honorable Mayor, Acme has to go.

I have never seen a more unfriendly place in my life !! No one acknowledges you , or even says hi to you ! The cold cut department Hates doing their job And acts like they're doing you a favor !! I like buying rotisserie chickens and nothing is ever marked as far as what time they came out of the oven . After paying top dollar, I would like to know which ones came out last !! No one knows !!

To be VERY CLEAR- this review is from my experiences at this ACME in Bronxville. I have been more than once to pick up last-minute items because it is near the train from NYC and convenient. A giant middle finger to the residents of Bronxville. Thought your town was special? Not so fast! Here's a festering, pus-filled boil of a market to j*** a knot in your tail and knock you down a few pegs. While Scarsdale & Rye enjoy Balducci's and Whole Foods- the genteel Wasps of Bronxville are punished for their generations of politesse and mild-mannered breeding with Acme dumped like a coiled wet pile of excrement in the very center of the village. Stinking to high heaven and infested with flies. For shame! Shame!
