This is a great gym if you’re looking for personal training in Park Slope. The trainers are super friendly and knowledgeable. They pay attention to my goals and are mindful of past injuries. I get a great workout here and feel like I’m part of a community. Def recommend!

We love Travis and his team at 5th ave fitness. You won’t find a kinder, more knowledgeable, accommodating, cleaner gym in the neighborhood. My partner and I have been going 2x a week for the past year and we feel so much stronger both mentally and physically. I’m so glad we made this investment in ourselves as it’s been a net positive and it feels great to support a friendly local business. If you’re on the fence about personal training just try the intro pack before you commit, my guess is you’ll be inspired to continue. Also, for anyone worried about intense gym energy— this place doesn’t have this. Come as you are, all level of fitness welcome. So grateful we live nearby this neighborhood gym!!

I’m new to exercise and pretty spazzy at staying on task but the fast pace, supervision by incredible coaches and constantly changing the routines makes this the ideal workout for me.

I’ve been going here for many years along with my teenage kids and all three of us love it. Travis and his team are excellent, knowledgeable, fun and thoughtful. The atmosphere is very welcoming and makes for a great space and environment to train.I highly recommend here for oldies like me, or young ones like my kids and anywhere in between.

Great space. Wish they had a bit more equipment. And I wish the staff at the front desk and on the gym floor would continue to wear masks. Or at least be mindful of those that are still wearing masks and stay 6 ft away. As there might be a solid reason for being more cautious

I've been training at 5th Ave Fitness for 9 months and I couldn't be happier. I've always been active but had no idea where to start with strength training and didn't feel like I'd fit in at a "normal" gym. The environment at 5th Ave Fitness feels completely different. The space is small but never crowded, and has a relaxed, community feel. The trainers really care, and will design a program that is very specific to you, focusing on the right form and consistency over time. I'm always challenged without a session ever feeling like a fitness bootcamp, and have seen real progress with only weekly sessions. It's a time I look forward to every week, I couldn't recommend it more!

I've been coming to 5th Ave Fitness for around 6 months. It's different from other gyms/ studios I've seen in a really great way - the environment is extremely inviting/ non-intimidating, every single trainer I've worked with is kind, attentive, super knowledgable and cares a lot about your goals, and because they limit the number of clients+trainers in the gym at one time, it's never crowded and has a laid back vibe. I've gotten stronger (especially noticeable when I'm lifting more weight or doing better at the same move), learned a lot about strength workouts, and my body fat % has decreased too. As someone who hasn't always liked working out, I always look forward to sessions here, and because the trainers here are so versatile (and there's a ton of different equipment), workouts never get boring. If you're not a gym person or aren't sure whether you'll like personal training, you should still give 5th Ave Fitness a try, because I'm super confident you'll find workouts here tailored to your interests and goals! (:

I've been training at 5th Ave for over 4 years and I love it.This place is different from a lot of other places I've been, so it's worth understanding that before you go. This is a boutique gym with a focus on personal training. I'm not a fitness buff -- I go to 5th Ave 1x / week to ensure I have at least one solid workout focused on strength training. The rest of the week I run, yoga, do workout classes or do strength training on my own with varying degrees of intensity/dedication.The trainers are experienced and high-quality, but above all this place provides a great place to work out in a relaxed atmosphere with a sense of community.

I've been starting at gyms and quitting after a few months for almost my entire adult life until I found Travis's place. It's been 3 years and I almost look forward to working out now ;). It's a personal style gym where everyone knows your name much like your neighborhood bar. (If you're thinking 'Cheers' that's exactly what I was referring too). The gym is extremely clean and perfectly sized so you feel like you're working out in a large studio instead of an intimidating commercialized gym, (which is what made me quit going in the past) All the trainers here are extremely knowledgeable, not just in training but also in tune with my aches and pains and will adjust the sessions accordingly. I've personally been battling lower back pains due to a herniated disc and have not been needing physical therapy since joining 5th Ave fitness. Lastly, like I've already mentioned the vibe is homey and inviting, the music (on most days) is spot on and if you don't like it they will change it. It really takes working out, from a daunting experience for me, into a pleasurable one!!
