I just had the most disappointing experience in my life. In my neighborhood, in the town I was born in. The employee working today admitted to racially profiling me after knocking my bag off my shoulder while I was shopping and refusing to accept my money. I've never had someone look me in the eye and tell to my face "I misunderstood our interactions because you are black" Every word out this person mouth was a lie. There is no management to train her. There is no management to contact for help if support.I truly hope the camera in the shop had sound to hear how bold she was with her words. She was not properly trained on how to receive cash payments. And after asking several times for an email she warns me that whatever email I send she is the one who will check it.You can imagine how disappointing I am to live in the neighborhood for years and one of the few local businesses that's still left had such low standards and not train or support their staff.Dispite this unprofessional unhappy person treating me so rude and unkind I feel bad for her working in a store without being trained to properly handle the responsibilities of working in retail. And treating customers no matter their skin color so bad that sales just walk out the door. I will still email to let her know she needs to heal whatever hate she has towards people of color and she should not be in charge of watching an entire store without supervision or being trained in customer service and proper cash handling procedures.

The clothes they sold to me without removing the security lock and ask myself to come and solve that! Without any compensation!

i normally dont leave bad reviews because no matter if the experience is bad, usually the staff are still really nice, but the staff who talked to me was actually terrible and i'm still thinking of it. i dont live in new york, and yesterday was my first day. two days ago, which was jan 7th on a sunday at around 5pm-7pm (don't exactly remember), i went to look around. i did intend to buy a scarf but i wanted to look at other things too. there are these plastic boxes covered some pouches and pins. the prices were covered and i didn't know how to check them. i thought they were under the boxes to prevent any stealing so i didn't think i could just lift it up. the staff members were all huddled together in the center of the room having a conversation so i wasnt sure if they were customers too. i looked at them to see if they would look back at me and ask if i needed help, and one girl did, but she didnt say anything. so i looked away thinking maybe they're not staff. but then i looked back and she was staring at me, so i went up to ask for help. she clearly had an attitude. idk if there were any names, but i know she had curly hair and glasses. she asked what do i need in the most condescending tone, and then i asked her about the price of the pouch. she told me the price and i asked a few more questions and she answered. then i asked about the price of the pins, and she said "you know you can look at them yourself, right?" with such an attitude. i was really confused, and she told me i can lift up the plastic cover. so i lifted it up and she walked away. i didn't hear this but my friend told me she said "you're welcome" as she walked away with also such a nasty attitude.then i was ready to pay for the scarf. no one was at the cashier, instead they were still huddled at the center of the room talking. i just stood waiting (not rly looking at them) and i didn't say anything because i was actually hoping for the other staff members to come up to me (i dont talk to them but i think i heard them talking to other customers earlier and they seemed friendly but i'm not sure). instead, the same person yelled "are you done?" so rudely. eventually i paid but that experience was horrible. what did i do to you? and i didnt even come during a late hour. i was minding my own business the whole time like any customer until i needed help looking for the price. if you can't talk to a customer properly, then don't work??also i'm not upset about all the staff huddled together and having a conversation. i used to do that too when i was working in food service. i'm just really annoyed about my experience with that staff member, and especially when she said "you're welcome" when she's supposed to just do her job?? literally the job was just answering what the price to this product was.

Cute Korean clothes, accessories and skincare. I interacted with the staff several times to try on clothes and make multiple purchases and they were always kind and made me feel very welcome. I am visibly a person of color so I just want to spell out that I had a lovely experience and will continue to shop here.

Went to shop here on Saturday with my family. We got there at 8pm and we had the weirdest experienced we’ve ever had at a store. As soon as we walked in, one of the employees told us Whole Foods and bars were the at the other side of the block. We didn’t understand what she meant so we asked if the store was closed, and she said they were closing soon even though closing time was 9. She said 8:30, which gave us enough time (30 min) to browse and then buy a couple of things but she wasn’t happy at all. They stopped the music to make us leave, and when we noticed, they put on a song saying “get out right now”…Other people came in while we were there, and they weren’t treated the same way so it seems that they are profiling. Unless this is what owners and managers want, they should pay more attention to their employees.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction and concern about a recent purchase I made from Aland US store. On October 18, my wife and I purchased a "Pinkfong Baby Shark Animals Songs Sound Book." Upon trying the product at home, we immediately noticed that the sound volume was excessively loud, raising genuine concerns about its safety for our baby's hearing. Given the potential risk, we deemed it inappropriate for our child and opted to return it to the store. When we approached the store for a refund, we were refused on the grounds that we had opened the package. I would like to highlight that the nature of the product necessitated opening it to test its sound quality, as there was no other way to ascertain its volume without doing so. The product is in pristine, undamaged condition, and the refusal to refund or exchange it based on package opening is unreasonable. The manager was so rude and kind of being racially talked to us! All of these just happened in front of my baby.Furthermore, I believe that this policy runs counter to the basic consumer rights in the United States. It is unjust to penalize consumers for testing a product that requires such testing to ensure its safety and appropriateness for its intended audience. Not allowing a refund or exchange in such circumstances, especially when the product poses potential harm, is not in line with fair consumer practices.I am hopeful that this complaint will shed light on this issue and help in rectifying such policies for the benefit of all consumers.( American dream store)

My wife and I visited the store with our family that was in town visiting, because we live the clothes they have. We came at 7:50pm and the store says it closes at 9, so we thought it was ok to come in.As soon as we arrived, the sales rep told us that if we were looking for whole foods or a bar, it was the other way around and tried to not let us in, which was just confusing. We tried to let it go and she kept following us and looking at us very aggressively, she then cut down the music and would just not talk back to us.Not sure if it’s because we are latinos, but it’s hard to imagine it was because of anything else as we just went in to buy clothes, after we got out she stared at us as she closed the door in our face.I wouldn’t recommend coming back here obviously…

Visiting from Toronto the store came highly recommended for cool stuff especially in the low level. As a black woman I was followed around the store and told no low level. Yup and I make 6 figures. Racial profiling for sure. No hello, nothing. Clearly I did not make a purchase.

I don’t really know what’s up with the girls that work here. They either hate their life or get poorly paid. Worst customer service I’ve experienced.

I’ll make my friends never come back to this location because the cashier just watched me the entire time and the other just walked right on by rudely to make an unfriendly statement. (Both young women shame on you, who taught them to do that?) I’ll get Maltese archive somewhere else where employees happily want my money and won’t profile me ?

This is a cool trendy store. The items are reasonably priced. I didn’t have many interactions with the staff so I can’t comment on that. But the store was clean and well organized!

If I could rate this place a half star or nothing I would. It’s the worst place to shop if you’re Brown or Black. I asked a staff if I could try something on in the change room and they walked past ignoring me and when I finally found the change room, they were watching me as if I was gonna steal something just because I wasn’t “the standard” or “pale”. There were even stains on the clothing that were put up on the hangers. Then, as I was about to pay a Korean worker came to the counter to check if I was really gonna sign the receipt to check if I had enough money to pay. You’d expect better customer service for such an overhyped brand. I’m very disappointed.

Dont go here. They have horrible RACIST staff and bad quality clothing. They’ll only help you out if you’re white or they’re stupid definition of “the standard” which is pale skin.

I bought a single face sheet mask value is probably $2-3, and they charged me for an entire box of masks instead for $20.
