donna did her big one with my hair! i caught her while she was running the wine and weave deal on tiktok and hopped on it. from washington heights to brooklyn. this is my first time with an old school stylist and i’m spoiled now. she shampooed me with firm hands, conditioned, detangled, and blew me out. her braid down was perfect, neat and not tight at all. she listened to my needs since i have colored hair and washed me with cool water, allowed me to decide how much hair to leave out and greased my scalp. she did this perimeter braid thing in the back and and sewed my bundles in so flat, that i can put my hair up in a ponytail and there’s no leave-out in the back. AGAIN, NO LEAVE OUT IN THE BACK. i’m used to the usual stylists who care for the money and clout when their work isn’t up to standard. this experience has me wanting to work with ONLY old school stylists.
the salon is clean, organized and it’s good to see her take summer youth program interns under her wing and give back to the community. i feel like that’s something that we’re missing nowadays. i was provided with snacks and chilled wine and the conversation flowed beautifully.

I’ve gotten a silk press, sew-in, color, and even Microlinks from her—and every single time, she snaps. I’ve also used her extensions in Kinky Straight and Body Wave, and the quality is 🔥. Blends perfectly and lasts. She really knows what she’s doing. I always leave feeling like that girl. Period.

This review is way overdue! I’ve been going to Donna for the past 6 months (give or take), and every visit has been top-tier. I’ve had several Silk Presses, a Smoothing Treatment and a Leave-Out Sew-In done with her, and every time I leave the salon, my hair looks and feels amazing. I purchased the Relaxed Straight texture for my sew-in which blended seamlessly with my natural hair texture. Highly recommended.
Donna’s customer service is unmatched. She’s professional, warm, and always makes sure you feel comfortable and cared for. She really takes the time to assess your hair and recommend what’s best for its long-term health. The advice and tips she gives are super helpful and easy to follow, and she genuinely wants to see your hair thrive.
The salon itself is clean, peaceful, and has a relaxing vibe. It’s the kind of place you actually look forward to spending time in. You can tell she uses high-quality products that not only give you great results but also help maintain the health of your hair between visits.
I’ve already recommended Donna to others. I even brought my cousin to see her for a silk press with great results! I’ll keep sending people her way. If you’re looking for someone who truly knows hair, takes pride in her work, and makes your hair goals a priority, Donna is it.

Donna is incredibly sweet and knowledgeable! From the moment I arrived, she greeted me with a warm smile and took the time to patiently answer all of my questions. Her raw hair collection is absolutely stunning, the texture is rich, full, and high quality. I was in and out in under two hours for a full sew-in, which is practically unheard of. I’ll definitely be returning!

Oh, Donna! This review is long overdue. I have been suffering from Alopecia and wanted to treat myself for my bday with a new look with hair extensions. After a different stylist stole my deposit and was a no show I found Donna Prescott Beauty and master stylist Donna.
Paid for a consultation which was used as a credit towards my service and met with Donna. Donna was so nice and addressed all my concerns.
I got a lace closure sew in and afterward wanted to know where had Donna been all my life. I received so many compliments and felt amazing. She is so gifted and her products are top notch. She has her own hair line so you can by your hair from her directly for your service which I did.
Three years later and I am hooked. I have not/will not go to another salon as long as Donna is in business. If you are looking for consistent excellent service this is the place for you.

I've been going to Donna since I was a teenager. She's amazing !!! She's multi-talent. I am a current natural. Donna currently does all-natural hair maintenance (trims, treatments, etc). This has been good for my hair journey.In the past, she did all my relaxer and sew-in services. Oh yes, how can I forget !!! When I need a wig-installed she is my go-to!!

I just got the BEST silk press here the other day! I was freshly out of braids and Ms Donna Prescott took the time to evaluate my hair before deciding what treatment to use on it. Also I’m very tender headed and she did not make me say ouch once! Can confidently say I have found my favorite salon in Brooklyn!

I moved to New York a year ago and have been struggling to find a good salon, let me tell you! I found the one with Donna Prescott Beauty! The best!! Not only did she eatttt my silk press but the atmosphere of the salon was amazing!! Great vibes and no weirdness! She also has amazing wigs in store & raw Indian bundles too!

It was my very first time getting a silk press and Donna made me feel like I was in very safe hands. I was a bit apprehensive to get once since my hair isn't used to heat and I was afraid it wouldn't last long, but I’m on my third week and my hair still looks amazing!! Great professional environment but still keeps the laughs which is refreshing. No complaints about the service would highly recommend. The owner is my sister but without bias i say that she is very knowledgeable about everything hair. She travelled all the way to London to get my hair did for graduation: outstanding silk press service, my hair looked full and bouncy.I've also recommended her wig service to many clients back in my home country St. Lucia and i have not had a negative review to date. I’ve been taking care of my natural hair with Donna for 6 years and I’m happy with her services every time. I mostly do a silk press service which includes a wash and steam treatment. I also get a protein treatment that includes a wash and steam treatment too. I also get my ends trimmed and she never takes no more than 3 inches so I leave with an actual trim and not a cut.
