American Veterans Memorial Pier is a beautiful place with spectacular, sweeping panoramic views of the NY harbor, from the Verrazano Bridge to Staten Island, Bayonne Harbor, Jersey City, and downtown Manhattan. The Statue of Liberty can be clearly seen in good weather. It is a nice place near the water and one endpoint for hiking or biking along the Bay Ridge Promenade, with bike roads available. The pier offers excellent views for reflection, though it could use a touch-up. The air quality might be a little uncomfortable on hot days due to a nearby plant, but you can’t beat the view. It is dog-friendly, though there are no bathrooms.
