My son drove in from out of state for the holiday and his check engine light came on, with two other dashboard lights. Our regular mechanic was closed for the holiday, so on glowing recommendations I called Atros and explained our situation. My son's car had been having electrical issues, so we didn't know if the check engine light was serious or just an electrical malfunction. And we wanted to know if it was safe for my son to drive back to school or if he had to have the car serviced immediately, if the problem was very serious. We brought the car in on Saturday morning and they tested and evaluated the issue. And they were fantastic. Advising us upfront of the potential costs and scenarios, and after a comprehensive evaluation, they told us that the check engine light warning was legitimate, but not dangerous or of immediate concern, and that the car was safe to drive and would make it back to my son's school without problem, where he could take it to his mechanic. All of the work performed was done with the utmost professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency. The pricing was extremely reasonable and there were zero surprises. I highly recommend Atros for their honesty, forthrightness, and quality work.

I brought my (notoriously difficult to work on) N54 BMW 135i to the shop for a Valve Cover replacement, Oil Filter housing gasket replacement & oil change. These guys are highly competent, fairly priced and really took the time to get the work done right. I highly recommend this shop.

These guys are so nice and do amazing work. I drove my 20 year old car from there yesterday and it feels brand new. They have been taking care of it for a few years now and their pricing is the best I've seen. They educate you too about your car, parts and dealerships. Try them out.

Just want to say this shop is amazing. I bring my car from Manhattan. Toyota told me I had all these things I needed to replace. I bought it to George at Jerry Astros. and told him what Toyota said.. and he told me I did not need all this work. So honest. They said the car would be ready by Thursday and it was done 3 days early. I would highly recommend. They are a very busy shop for a reason.

I’ve been bringing my cars to Atros for 16 years and constantly refer people to them. They are the best shop in Brooklyn, family run, honest and very knowledgeable.

George was a great help, gave great advice and did what he could to assist me with the issues I was having with my car. He has been the only mechanic thus far that has been able to problem solve and troubleshoot all it's problems at reasonable and fair prices. Thank you for keeping my lemon afloat!

As the Covid-19 crisis began to take hold in NYC, my wife and I - holdouts who hadn't owned vehicles since moving to the city many years ago - agreed we were going to need a car. Public transportation is sketchy right now, and with flights cancelled and the summer upon us, we were soon going to go nuts. After researching the crap out of used cars, we decided on a Honda Fit, and then did more research and arrived at "Older car with mileage + regular maintenance + put some money into it at the outset = better than buying a newer car that would depreciate immediately." After finding a 2009 Fit in NJ (see a review I'll put up later) at a Honda dealership, I again researched and a friend steered me to Jerry Atros Motors, walking distance from our home in Park Slope. I decided from the outset, "Make a decision and simply trust these guys. It's a good place to start." When I dropped it off after calling, I asked them to go over the car and imagine their own family member was about to take a road trip, and they needed to bring it up to scratch. A day later they called with three issues, all essentially maintenance problems (seized/ fouled plugs and possibly dying coils, dry serpentine belt, contaminated brake fluid), and I asked them to please do the work. A day later, I had the keys in hand, at the estimated cost, and a recommendation to replace the starter, as the solenoid was showing signs of going (which I knew about but was hoping to avoid). The next week they did that, too. They also performed the NYS inspection, giving even more peace of mind. The entire process was exceptional. George and Mike are professional, friendly, and most important, trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable. I won't go into the whole, "you need to be careful with mechanics" thing - my own family is in construction, and I've always thought that kind of talk is offensive. I believe most mechanics - like contractors - are honest. But I think that matrix above - honesty plus competence plus professionalism - is truly rare. And thus I feel like I won the lottery finding Jerry Atros Motors. Things I appreciated: the communication is clear, direct, not condescending, honest. The work is done right and quickly. The work comes in at budget. They do things (in our case resetting sensors, checking electrical systems) without even telling me or billing for it. And I simply felt better after getting my car back and ready to go. You feel it in your gut sometimes. The Honda has since taken on us on numerous trips around the city, necessary (the doctor, epic food shopping) and for pure mental health (Bear Mountain, Ft. Tilden, Harriman). The peace of mind has been great, thanks entirely to the team at Atros Motors. It's a pleasure, and we'll see you guys when it's time for the regular maintenance on the car.

I just called about 10 minutes ago to make an appointment for a NYS inspection. The person who answered the phone was rude (if you are a business, you should answer the phone and state the name of your business, not wait for a customer to ask). He was not interested in helping me and said he doesn't know when I can make an appointment and I would probably have to drop it off at 8am and pick it up at 6pm for a NYS Inspection that should take 45 minutes. I said "That doesn't make any sense" and he just said "Sorry" (not in a friendly way) and hung up on me. Why are there so many positive reviews for this place? What a joke.
