Super friendly staff. Very clean and cozy. I particularly loved the organization of the display tables. They had one table with different books with birds on the cover, which was cute and introduced me to books I hadn’t seen before.

I love that you can still go to a bookstore. This Barnes and Nobles hasn't changed. It has a neighborhood bookstore feel in a big box bookstore format. I love the magazine section and the Starbucks. The staff is super helpful and they have all the latest books and publications. No more kindle please. The only downside is the escalator is not working all the time. But I like that. The downstairs is usually not crowded and you can sit at a bookshwlf reading for hours.

Was really disappointed at how the store is being managed. The cafe is super dirty. Tables not clean, floor dirty. Staff follows you around like you’re going to steal. They don’t follow everyone if you get what I mean. Have been going there for two decades, had not gone in like three years, was very disappointed. It used to be a happy place. Everyone there was rude except the security guard.

My 5 year old son was sitting quietly and reading a book in the kids section, when someone who worked there told us he could not sit in the store. We’ve been going to this store for a long time, so it was kind of strange and out of character for the store and this neighborhood. Also, there is no other designated seats or benches, so the floor or kids stage is the only place to review a book before buying. I’m not sure how they expect kids to pick a book. Why even have a kids section if it’s not for exploring books before buying them? So disappointing… very not in the spirit of Park Slope. I hope they change whoever management to someone that understands the local crowd more.

We used to love this Barnes & Noble so much, but now they won’t let kids sit in the kids section anymore. They’ve already asked my aunt and my husband to sit on the floor or stage, where the puppets are. It’s really hard to have a kid choose a book without them taking a moment to sit and review it. It’s so disappointing, because we buy all toys and gifts there. It’s right around the corner from our apartment. But it’s now become so uninviting we’ll have to cancel our membership and find a better bookstore that’s more invested in the customer’s experience. My son is an early readers and it’s really important to me to keeps books a good and magical experience. Unfortunately, the Park Slope Barnes & Noble is no longer a good experience.

For my sister and I first time at Barnes and noble was so good we went back!! This time we were greeted by a white security guard who was pleasant when I asked if they had a bathroom. Not only did he tell me they don’t have one he told me where to go. We come back and he’s not there. We proceed shopping. I’m not sure who started it but my sister and I were in there doing Christmas shopping when we literally have over $100 worth of books in the bag. We head upstairs to the cooking part and as we’re looking at cooking books we start to feel eyes on us. It’s this black security guy who is blatant starting at us, like in no way, shape or form was he trying to be conspicuous. He literally followed us from the cooking section to the health and wellness to the African American history books were. I even had to state loud enough for him to hear because he was so close that no one is stealing books. Then he finally left us alone. After that it definitely made my sister and I feel discriminated against for what could have been the most how we was dressed in sweatpants? Which I found to be crazy since it was cold and we weren’t the only ones in sweatpants either.
