I have been consistently impressed by the quality of Barronarts' custom panels, which I've been ordering regularly since early 2020. After fifteen years of painting on a number of different supports, the Sintra (PVC) surface is a revelation: it's archival, rigid, smooth, durable, and lightweight. Did I mention affordable? I recently ordered some custom poplar floater frames to fit around my medium sized paintings and was very satisfied with the results. The Barronarts team even sent me some free frame finish samples to keep in my studio to refer to and show to clients. Jeffrey Barron is always highly attentive to my needs and extremely responsive over phone and email, a true professional (and solid human being). I wholeheartedly recommend Barronarts for working artists of all stripes!

I’ve been using these stretchers since 2007. After all these years the older stretchers are still like new. And the new ones are even more beautifully made. Highly recommend. Personal service. .

After working with Barronarts for many years now, we have yet to find stretchers who compare in quality to Barron. Jeff always manages to finish our projects promptly and professionally, even under difficult circumstances. Their expandable stretcher frames are of the highest quality and within a reasonable price. I have worked with Barron Arts since about 2004. I have used only their services since 2021. I have lived in several different cities and they were always able to get my canvases to me one way or another. The canvases are exceedingly well made. I completely rely on Barron Arts for my painting canvas.

Outstanding materials and craftsmanship on frames and stretching. The expandable frames for linen are game changers - enabling me to work on the surface that I love without worrying about how sensitive it is to the environment. Barronarts helped create a wonderful project for us and Milton Academy in our Brooklyn studio. They made and delivered on time three - 6' x 5'6" stretched and primed canvases. The entire experience from discussing the order to delivery was handled perfectly. I really appreciated it. Plus, the pricing was a good buy for the quality of the product and service.

The photo shows linen stretched and glued to two Sintra panels. I use two types of panel - birch for smaller works and sintra for larger ones. The traditional rabbit-skin glue applies perfectly to the Sintra panel. 100 grams of glue to one liter of water. The first layer I allow to dry and with the second layer I place the pre-stretched linen onto the panel press it out, turn it over and stretch and staple to the back. Remember the most important part of your painting is the support then the ground. I make my own traditional gesso. With these panels your work will out-live you!
