The short ribs were excellent. Very tender. The atmosphere was not great because of the weather. The desserts were delicious. The Pork chop schnitzel was delicious and more than ample. I was not able to finish even though I tried my best. The waiter was extremely courteous and helpful.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Benchmark! We were greeted at the door and informed that the restaurant had just redone the menu. There was a good variety of options for myself (vegan) and my partner (definitely not vegan).The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, accommodating my request for a mocktail and answering questions about the menu. We look forward to coming back and enjoying the outdoor space when it’s warmer!

What happened to the old Benchmark? I recommended this place for dinner with out of town family and was embarrassed when all aspects of this once great neighborhood gem were gone. We went on a rainy Saturday night, and the restaurant was not very full. The house made liquors like “vodka”, “bourbon”, and “tequila” were nothing like the real thing, and in each of these drinks the levels of alcohol were wildly different. The mojito was undrinkable. It just tasted like mint and “alcohol”. We laughed it off as an experiment, got a bottle of wine, and left our cocktails unfinished. They had run out of branzino so were substituting cod, but kept the branzino price which always gets an eyebrow raise from me. The vegetarian entree, which has been quite good in the past, was not. The veggies were bland and under seasoned, the sauce didn’t pair well with it, and there were uncooked seeds left in the squash. The blacken pork tenderloin was good, but I used to rave about the food at Benchmark, and it’s just not there anymore. The services was also surprisingly off. Once we ordered drinks, we waited a very long time to get our cocktails, then another long wait for the bottle of wine, and our water glasses went unfilled for long stretches. The dining room was never full even when a few more tables were sat. It took 2.5 hours for six of us to dine there, and we all only had 1 entree course. No starters or dessert. We were so underwhelmed by the experience we went somewhere else for dessert. On our way out we passed our server and another employee who were talking to each other right next to the exit and didn’t acknowledge us with a bye or goodnight or anything. I loved this place but now I’m taking it off my list.

Had such a great time here. My server Davey (I think that was his name) was soooooo nice. He didn't care that we asked questions about almost every dish. We bonded over our hatred of new wave music. He overheard me talking trash about Stereolab and joined right in. Definitely going back just for him. Oh and the food was pretty great too

This is a steak and burger place! Really interesting options for steak and they have a really good burger. The Brussels sprouts are amazing also! It’s in a great location and they even have trivia sometimes.They have speakers placed in interesting locations, pointed directly at 1 or 2 tables and don’t always play the softest music so sometimes you will have piercing music playing at you depending on which table you choose.

I've heard good things over the years about the steaks here. Had a rare hankering for red meat and thought I'd try it for a birthday dinner. A major disappointment..... beef just wasn't very good; not remotely worth the price. That three of our four steaks were overcooked didn't help, but even perfectly done these wouldn't have made the grade.

Benchmark was most disappointing. The food was totally unacceptable. We ordered oysters that was to come with Texas toast. Their version of Texas toast was toast with two pieces of white bread covered with butter very lightly toasted. Taste was awful. Not even toasted enough. The wedge salad consisted of a sliver of lettuce. Not anything like one usually expects from a wedge salad. The appetizers were so bad and we decided not to stay for dinner. Stay away until they replace the head chef.

Steaks were good but for the price, the details were lacking. Cocktails served with bendy straws, starch dishes covered in cheese, bland vegetable dishes. They just went through a change splitting the bar from the restaurant so maybe they were still figuring things out.

For some reason I have never really wanted to eat here (I think I thought I had been here before and didn't care for it), but when my partner wanted to get a steak for brunch somewhere options were limited and we came. Right when I got there I realized I've actually been here before, so I was immediately curious to see how this was going to go down. First off, they have a nice covered patio with fans which made for a nice breeze. The service I thought was great. It seemed everyone was celebrating something which I thought was awfully coincidental, but none the less they all got a glass of something to cheers with. I didn't get anything since i literally gave nothing to celebrate other than making it out of the house. I had a chicken BLAT. it was delicious and the fries were really tasty. I ate every single bite and loved every second of it. My partner got steak and eggs. It came with toast and some weird potatoes. He said the steak was amazing and it looked pretty darn big for the price. Overall I think this is a great place for brunch, the prices are really reasonable and the food is outstanding. Will definitely be returning

My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary at Benchmark and had a lovely time. He made the reservation and must have included that it was an anniversary as we were immediately greeted with delicious champagne. The indoor dining was very dim and intimate which was perfect for a date.For dinner we had the Orzo Mac'n'Cheese (Goat Cheese, Parmesan, Arugula, Sun-dried Tomatoes - $13), Roasted Fingerling Potatoes (Cheese, Bacon, Sour Cream, Chives - $13), Oysters DeJonghe (Garlic, Mustard, White Wine, Butter, Texas Toast - $21), 10 oz Filet Mignon ($46) and the Benchmark Burger ($23). Every single meal was INCREDIBLE! I couldn't stop eating. To top it all off, the cookie dough dessert was immaculate - the perfect combo of hot and cold. I couldn't have asked for a better celebratory dinner. The service was quick and the entire staff was friendly and attentive. I need to come back and try the Maine Lobster Ricotta Gnocchi!

The NY strip steak here is soo good, I’m still thinking about it days later. Super soft and delicious at a medium temp. Our server Mike was also a sweetheart and made the best aperol spritz I’ve ever had despite being to Italy. Deff recommend ??

Great place to get a burger from. It was made well and presented nice. However, their hand cut fries are very thin, so thin they taste like plain potato chips with salt added. Service and atmosphere is great. I knock of 1 star for 2 reasons. A: The fries as mentioned B: they charge a fee if you use a credit card vs paying in cash. We got a bill for total cost, I submitted my card and got a same bill again with a fee tacked on. I enquired and was told it because i was using a credit card.

Went for brunch there this past Sunday and it was such a delightful experience. The food was amazing, the wait staff were all so helpful and genuinely lovely, and the drinks were awesome!
