A really chill laptop-free cafe. The decor is refurbished wood pieces, so it has sights to see.Ordered a latte and it was decent for my 2pm pick me up.Place gets packed and seating is limited. Not sure if it's the best place to have a large meet up.

Knocked off a star for their service. The men especially seem to be having a bad day and are not very inviting. Seems to be the same whether its a weekday or weekend. It doesn’t feel good to sit inside and enjoy our coffee and pastries when they have an attitude. Everything else is great, the coffee is consistently amazing. The ladies are very kind and friendly.

Great place to grab a coffee! It's gotta a cool rustic vibe there's also a table with no laptop policy can't complain given the atmosphere of the place I'd recommend to check it

Ive meticulously tried cold brew from all the neighborhood coffee shops. Black Brick’s is consistently the best. To top it off it’s also one of the cheaper options around.

Perfect vibe and atmosphere for work. Coffee could be a bit more intense but still good.

There are no empty seats at all on holidays and the crowds keep coming. The ceiling is made of wooden boxes. I really like the decoration of the store. It’s so happy to drink HOT Chai on a snowy day.

Great, underrated, coffee shop. It’s not a chain or its own roaster but black brick is a true local favorite!!Solid coffee, plenty of seating with a pleasant outside garden when weather permits. Inside the vibe is cozy and mellow.Something i really appreciate is Definitely does NOT have a somewhat sterile “lets have a business meeting vibe” like many others.

Update 2024: still my favorite. Great staff, all around nice people. People complain about the laptop policy, I for one appreciate it and think that it's very good.During weekends there's a large table in the back that fits 6 people or so and a couch where 2 more can sit that allows laptops. The rest of the seating is for people having conversations and doing non-laptop things like reading and conversing.During the week there's another 5 tables were laptops are allowed (most of the cafe!).This is a nice balance and frankly very helpful so that you can find a place to seat and have a conversation most of the time when meeting a friend. It also gives the place a nice charm missing in places were everyone is at their laptop. If I know I need to be on my laptop on a weekend, yes, I consider going elsewhere. It's inconvenient at times since I love this place, but that's part of why it is great.----Original review:It's my favorite coffee shop in the area. The staff is nice, the ambience is great, their coffee and drinks are the best, and their prices are great. If you specify that your order is to stay they'll also use proper cups, not disposable ones, which is also very nice. For pastries, their chocolate croissant and the tahini chocolate chunk cookies are wonderful.

The ambient is such a cool vibe. It is just the service. This guy stumbled and did not repeat himself. He did not smile we had to pay instantly and everyone who dined in got a to go cup and when we said we want to drink it here he semed upset that he had to fill it in a normal cup. Why is it so hard for new yorker to be friendly?

Bad hot chocolate, the table and chairs are a little wonky too.. However, the vibe is okay here.

Went in for coffee and was delighted by the lowest prices I’ve seen in NYC since 2010 ($5 oat milk latte and $3 double espresso) Coffee is excellent. The atmosphere is great. Dim. Rustic. Tight. Old school Brooklyn industrial. A lot of thought went into the place it’s clearly not cookie cutter “Brooklynaire.”Appreciated the computer free zone as we were able to get a table as soon as we got our drinks.

Update:Still killin' it.It's the only beautiful tasting espresso I could find in Williamsburg. I tried 3 others today and none of them were even close. Consistently great coffee for over a decade now. keep it up guys!

Great drinks and cool atmosphere but super weird encounter with the staff. Asked for an ice latte (and we made a joke about getting an iced drink in cold weather) and a hot latte came out. We politely said it was meant to be an iced latte and they said “no, you just said latte”. I felt weird but also stood my ground because we definitely asked for iced. They eventually remade it as an iced latte
