You will be upsold on shoes you don't want and then won't be able to return them.
Staff when I bought the shoes was kind/nice but pushed for shoe that didn't fit well, when returning shoes, the staff was rude and condescending :( . Said the shoes were badly worn when I kid you not I couldn't not walked in them more than 1/10 of a mile.
The policy below says you need to have original package / and or tags in eligible condition - not sure what the issue was.

On April 12, 2024, I purchased New Balance sneakers from the Brooklyn Running Company. I was advised by the salesperson that my Hoka sneaker which I was wearing would be shipped in a box to my home address, so I could wear the new NB sneaker out the store and begin my run.
The salesperson asked me for my address, which I provided. It’s been over a month and I still haven’t received my Hoka sneakers. I went back to the store to inquire about not receiving my package. I spoke with the same salesperson from which I purchased my NB sneakers. The salesperson wouldn’t provide me with the address on file because he stated “the information was private. The only information he could provide was the tracking number.
After further research I discovered the package was delivered to an unknown name and address then the package was returned to the store from which I initially made my purchase. I returned back to the Brooklyn Running store and spoke with my salesperson. He advised me the sneakers were sent back and discarded due to the incorrect name and address. I never received a call nor any correspondence regarding my package. The salesperson never apologized nor did he attempt to resolve his failure to address my package correctly.
Unfortunately at this point I do not have my Hoka sneaker which were in great condition. This has been a disastrous experience and I fully expect to have my sneakers replaced.
The salesperson name’s is Joseph Rotondo. This has been the worst experience buying new running sneakers. I will never purchase anything from this location again nor will I recommend it to any one in my running club.
Ultimately I spoke with the store manager Mike who has been assisting me, but still has not resolved this matter.
I want to emphasize that Mike was the only one who attended to my problem and in a very kind way, on the other hand, the seller did not care that he had made that mistake and did not want to give me any solution.

If you run, make sure you get a free consult from Brooklyn Running Company on what type and size shoe to get. I’ve been running with runners knee issues on the wrong type of shoes for years. I got expert and friendly advise the minute I walked in the store! The pro was helpful and let me try lots of varieties before landing on my new shoes. My new shoes make such a big difference in my running! They have a ton of products besides their large selection of shoes as well, all the running gear you can think of. I’m recommending it to all of my friends who run and haven’t already done the consult!

I feel inclined to write a review because I had such a poor experience here and want others to be informed. My job requires a lot of walking (10-20k steps per shift), and I was advised to visit a running store since I was having some feet pain. I sought out this company because I wanted to support smaller businesses, and the website stated that 'beginners are their specialty.'
I arrived at around 2:30 pm on a Saturday, and the employee at the front shuffled me around before reluctantly deciding to help me. He very quickly evaluated my feet without asking too many questions and brought out shoes without letting me specify that I needed white shoes. When I mentioned this, he quickly dismissed me, saying, "we have nothing here for you." By the time I put my shoes back on, he had already disappeared back to his post at the front.
I had to track him down because I still had unanswered questions that I did not have the opportunity to ask. I did not even get a chance to try on the shoes he brought out for me. I understand that he was busy and needed to get back to the storefront, but I would've preferred waiting for another sales associate if I was going to be rushed. I knew the store had a limited selection from reviews, but I expected to at least gain knowledge about my feet and learn about specific brands that would fit my needs. Instead, I left feeling dissatisfied and felt like I wasted my time. I cannot recommend this location if you are a beginner with questions and advise against anyone trying to visit on weekends due to the heavy traffic and rushed service.
