I had a pretty strange experience on two occasions today when I attempted (unsuccessfully) to deposit some foreign currency cash. When I arrived in the branch the first time, during my lunch break, I was ushered to the side by an attendant (Annetta?), and asked to provide my ID. I waited in a chair for about 15 minutes, then when a teller (Jenny?) did come over to my seat, she kindly explained that it would take another 30-40 minutes for Capital One to obtain some sort of authorization for the FX transaction, and apologized by saying that there had been a recent process change for this transaction type. I explained that I didn't have that much more time during my break from work, and asked whether I could plan to come back into the branch the same day, anytime before closing time. The teller said "yes" and affirmed, "Anytime before 5pm today would be fine." I asked whether I should call ahead next time, and she said, "No, because you must come in with your photo ID in order to initiate the process."Based on that information, I made plans to take some time off during the work day to come back to the branch, to retry my transaction.I made it back to the bank around 3:45pm. Upon arrival, I was taken aside again, and this time, the same attendant as before (not the teller) asked for my ID, bank card, and foreign currency, counting out the cash with me before disappearing with those things. I waited in my seat for nearly half an hour. Then, the attendant came back alone and provided me with a cryptic message, "It's not working." "What's not working?" I asked. "'It' won't take your money this late in the day." When I asked for more specific details about the failure point, the attendant vaguely described some kind of technical process that wouldn't "let" her "take my money" after some cutoff point in the afternoon (as opposed to 5pm). The attendant apologized and offered to see me right away if I would just come back tomorrow instead.I thanked her but let her know that I would not be coming back to the branch again. Instead, I called a different bank where I have an account during my walk home, and that banker explained the correct work flow to me, quoted an exchange rate (which never happened at any point during my Capital One visits), confirmed banking hours for my transaction type (anytime during open hours for the branch location), and provided some additional helpful details. It seems like there may have been a recent process change at Capital One, which caused some confusion among branch employees - or at least, the one or two who worked with me today, at this Wyckoff Ave branch. Nonetheless, I wish someone had taken a pause, and just confirmed the correct next steps before instructing me to come back a second (and a third!) time to the branch during my work day. This experience was really inconvenient for me, and unfortunately for Capital One, a competing bank is about to get that deposit.

The tellers at this bank are incredibly rude. They don’t look at you or pay attention when you are speaking with them.

No money on all atms. Didn’t bring an ID since I was only going to use the atm. Now I can’t take out my money? Because someone decided to have all atms empty?

The teller Jenny was so so helpful!!! Double checked everything and made sure I was taken care of opening my first account with the bank. She did extra to print out info for my work and walked me through the app. Easiest bank experience I’ve had a while! Will always be coming to this branch

Terrible customer service. The staff is so rude. Why does this branch even exist? They told me that they don't make appointments, they don't help with anything, so why is it there? Just leave the ATMS and that's it.

I withdrew $100 with the teller, the next day I see a withdrawal for $1,600 from the same branch from the same teller with out my authorization. Branch found out he must of mistaken the account number. Not only was this full of frustration, I had to travel back to the branch from the other side of queens. Paid $40 lyft ride to get here, and miss out of work because of the negligence of my account, as well as I had to call the cops because.. no one answers the phone. How would you expect someone to feel when a large amount of money is gone. How am I suppose to feel when seeing this. This triggered so much anxiety for me. I am looking to close my account and move my money elsewhere. Oh and top it off, they supposedly can't fix it the day of reporting because of the branch is digital and can't process any ledgers. How is this useful for the clients? To wait till Tuesday for it to be corrected? Insanely crazy, if the bank wanted to borrow my money.. I should be compensated more than what removed.

I came into the branch last week and it was extremely busy and the line wasn’t moving as it should not sure what the holdup was about But I realized the only person that was actually making a difference with the wait time was Ritha . Although you can’t hear her when she calls”next in line “ because of the background noise. I was next in line. She greeted me with such kindness and was able to finish my transaction within a few minutes which usually would years when it’s dealt with a different representatives. Very quick at what she does! I’ll be looking for her always because my she communicated with me so patiently

Walked into a branch yesterday to do a simple transaction, there were 3 people on the window. As I’m approaching to be called on, there is 1 person shouting NEXT to customers as if this was the DMV LINE! This is a bank and as a bank there should be a level of professionalism that one must part-take in. Unfortunately, for myself I had one of the worst experience ever. The girl on the window, Aretha, who was calling everyone NEXT, while chewing gum in the most obnoxious crowd way and rolling her eyes at ALL her customer interactions, calls me over, instead of a salutation, it’s more of: what do you need? (With a nasty attitude) As I tell her that I need a cashiers check, she’s ask for how much and then tells me, “I can’t do this step over to the girl over there” and points to empty windows. I was not understanding what she was trying to say and then she says “I can’t do this, I need an override” and tells me to go back on Line, rudely! As I step back on the line, doesn’t proceed with taking the next customer, instead walks to the back, then to the front and then back into a room and disappears. There is a line out the door and there is 1 person on the window. The teller who happens to be working, calls me over and proceeds with my transaction, a doll. A person that was pleasant and delivered a great customer experience, took care of my transaction and was great. Aretha then comes back to the tellers window where I’m standing and slams bank checks and tells me… “I TOLD YOU I WAS GETTING CHECKS”It’s unfortunate that for 1 persons nasty attitude, their peers have to also suffer. I hope this reaches management and I hope the staff there gets retraining, because if you don’t like your job, you should not be working with clients.

This past week I visited this bank, not only was the wait time over an hour but the person who “helped” me was beyond rude. Her name is Ritha I was absolutely taken aback with the lack of customer service shown by this person. She seemed bothered by any question I had for her. She was extremely dismissive like the rest of the staff. As someone who also works with customer service this was the worst I have seen.
