The service is awful. I have been for over 30 minutes just to see a banker and no one is helping me. The bank is under staffed. And only banker that was there walked out while there was people waiting to be help

Customer service - null. Unprofessional staff. Period. Two stars is for the building where it is located. Gorgeous architecture. Time to switch banking to a reputable bank. Capital One is a joke

Besides the fact that the ATM hasn't worked for 3 days! The Manager and the Teller are super rude! They definitely racially profile customers!!! Will never ever step foot in this branch!!!

I walked in for an investment account information that I saw this bank put on their window in another branch. The bank looks empty like any bank nowadays I guess because of everything can do it online. I wait for a personal banker for a while until a security guard told me maybe i can just ask a teller and the teller told me i can do by myself online. She was nice and friendly and saved my time. Even I ended up not to invest with them but I still feel good about the service that day.

We all know Cap One is that last to show up underdog in the archaic & dying physical-banking world, and since they first appeared on the scene they've displayed a passionate commitment to being too kick butt to ignore. Their 360 online banking program was the innovative and visionary impetus and inspiration for the entire industry. If the too big to fail banks come off old-fashioned slow clunky stodgy and boring (which they do...), Cap One projects an entirely different demeanor: young hip new fresh innovative. This particular location on Manhattan Ave in Greenpoint is on what one might call "Bankers Row". All the usual suspects are on one side of the street or the other within a few blocks of each other. (All except Wells Fargo that is --who doesn't even have a branch in Greenpoint.) The Cap One building should be in every tourist guide book for New York. It's a classic old building whose architecture harkens back to the good old days when banks were an every day part of American life and a vital part of the community they serve. The high ceilings give the bank an open spacious feel; giant Windows provide natural light galore; and the Romanesque columns and the marble and granite are all very jaw-dropping impressive. Feels like you're in old Europe. But it's the staff that makes this branch the clearcut winner of Bankers Row. From the security staff to the branch managers and everyone in between, they are a unified team committed to being friendly and providing exceptional service. There are almost NEVER any lines here. Not because it's empty. But because they'll quickly add a third or fourth teller if need be to clear the queue, unlike the Chase bank across the street where the average wait time is 30 minutes! They always offer to help in any way they can, and they'll go out of their way to do it. (Seriously. Not kidding. When's the last time we experienced a bank like that? Most banking staff are usually barricaded behind bullet proof glass with a frown on their face that says "we own your a** and we know it. Now get out of my line so I can go take my lunch break!" LOL! Right?) If you like that "my neighborhood bank" vibe where everyone remembers your name AND the latest in cutting edge fin-tech, this is the place for you. Issues that could be improved... They could open before 9 am... This sincerely makes ZERO sense, to not be open until 9 am?!? It screams "we don't want any customers who are employed!" They don't offer any complimentary coffee etc service like their Manhattan counterparts. This isn't necessary obviously...but if the Cap Ones in Manhattan are going to do it, they should be consistent. Their space is gigantic. There's plenty of room for it. They could get creative with it and really show the hood that they've come to dominate. (There are a ton of local bakeries close by. They could do a trade of some kind. (Yes, I am literally handing you a golden ticket of advice on a silver platter. Take it guys.)) They also need to up their new-world 360 game. Again, like their Manhattan branches. Add more cushy chairs and a few couches, include free wifi passwords for customers only, use some of those empty cubicles as desks for customers to work at for a few minutes while prepping whatever business they're there to do... There's a LOT they could still do to be even better.... But besides all that, they're still the best bank in Greenpoint. And we have account at FOUR different banks. Cap One is by far the coolest and friendliest.

The people here are friendly & helpful- and there's never much of a line. An ATM is on the Calyer side. What's really interesting (besides the impressive massive outer columns and pediment of the Greek-like temple structure and the interier architecture with its beautifully spectacular high dome and stained glass), are the fascinating life size photo blow-ups of Greenpoint street scenes from the early 20th century. They cover most of the BACK of the bank - kind of hidden away but accessible to anyone. They make you feel as if you are actually immersed in an olden day street scene because of their size and ground level placement. Worth a visit just for that experience. Fact: This land-marked building was featured in the 1998 movie "The Siege"- where the exteror served as a huge mosque, complete with an added minaret tower, for calls to prayer. This thought-provoking movie was made before 9/11 but it eerily predicts tragic future events in NYC, and includes the Trump-like scapegoating (and much worse) of innocent American Muslims in an irrational response to terrorism.

This is now a Capital One Bank. It is a really nice building and really shows off old school Greenpoint. Although it loses a few stars because of some minor issues like no checking account deposit slips available and slow customer service. But a major problem is that it needs to pump up the a/c on hot days. I visited this place on a heat wave day a few weeks back and it was disgusting waiting on this line.
