What happened here? I’ve shopped with Catbird for well over a decade, and sadly something has changed. I’ve for the most part had great experiences with them, especially shopping in person, however there’s a drastic shift in their customer service. We came with friends (recommend by us!) to select a wedding band. My husband and I had shopped here last year for his band, and had a wonderful experience. Sadly the second round was drastically different. The service was less than helpful; the individual helping us didn’t know any answers to our questions which obviously created a bit of anxiety and concern. Their ability to be flexible or make sure we felt taken care of was nonexistent. I was really disappointed especially since I recommended it on high praise. All in all not an experience you want when wedding ring shopping! I suggest you reach out to the designers they have and work directly with them. A complete 180 and much much nicer experience. CB I’m bummed! I love your pieces and I love these stores. Please change your service!

I came in here to look for fine jewelry (both a graduation present AND an engagement ring) today, Thursday feb 15th at around 3:00pm. There were 2-3 staff working and only 1 other shopper, who was already being helped. Terrible vibes from the staff, literally nobody offered to help me or asked if I was looking for anything in particular. Just an awkward bad shopping experience. I left and took my business elsewhere.

I attended a pop up when they were in California a few years ago and got 3 permanent bracelets. The 2 gold ones are wearing nicely, but within a few months the 1 white gold began looking gold, and now all 3 look the same color. Every few months I cleaned them per the website's instructions, yet the white gold still looks like traditional gold. I finally emailed customer service and was told, "For your white gold bracelet, as we do not plate our white gold at all it is natural for it to gradually turn slightly more yellow gold over time and it this is very common for solid white gold jewelry, this is because it's the natural color of the gold!" 1. I responded to this customer service email that it could have been helpful for the person who sold the jewelry to me or the person who "zapped me" to mention this, because if their white gold is going to look gold: I might not have purchased it; possibly why they didn't say anything? I am frustrated that between 2 associates at my point of sale= it was never mentioned. 2. I have had 3 fine jewelry pieces in white gold for over 10 years (worn almost every day) and this has never happened, and I was very offended at the emailing associate's mention "this is very common for white gold" to begin to look like traditional gold after some time...No, it isn't. Now I am informed that it is common for non-plated white gold to begin looking gold, but this was not in any scripture about the piece when I purchased it nor (as I mentioned) verbally shared. I was thrilled when they came to California a few years ago as I had followed them for awhile on social media, and am incredibly disappointed in their product and customer service.

Terrible experience. I bought several rings from the online shop; two were completely mis-sized (one almost a full size off). I was told this was "normal variation" (!). The only customer service is an email address with slow and infrequent responses. It took many messages to be able to return the items and even more messages to get a full refund. Do not recommend.

One of the worst online experiences I've ever had. I made a purchase on their website around Christmas time. The items didn't look like anything in the photos. So I made a return for the items, but this is the longest process I've ever dealt with. They only go through email, which they only reply every 2 days, so getting any immediate response is a real pain. I'm still waiting for my refund, and it's been over a month! It even says it's been delivered, but they haven't received the item. It's real concerning when you feel like they lost your package. Save yourself a headache and don't purchase anything from this website!

Zapped bracelet fell off after a few months. They did not offer any discounts to put it back on only to repurchase the same bracelet. Don’t waste your money.

Shopping here feels like being in Get Out. The staff is weird the atmosphere sucks and the jewelry is cheap. Spent over 150 dollars to get zapped and the “forever bracelet” didn’t last longer than a week. Then when you ask for any type of help you have to pay more money bc their jewelry is cheap. Save your money and shop elsewhere.

I have ordered online from Catbird before and was excited to visit in person on our trip to NYC, but the reviews I read ahead of time made me nervous about the level of customer service I should expect. Still, I decided that seeing pieces in person and trying things on was worth it even if the service was difficult. Honestly, I was worried for nothing! My husband and I came in on a Sunday afternoon and we were immediately greeted by several different associates. I worked with three different people who were happy to help me try on as many pieces as I liked. When we said we were going to think about what I liked the most and come back, they were really nice about it and said they would be waiting for us. India was especially kind in recommending some pieces and helping me order a ring I found there that wasn't available in my size to be shipped to my house for free. Ultimately, we went back to the store a few hours later and I left wearing three new stacking rings and will have another new one waiting for me when we get home.I'm not trying to disregard other people's negative experiences, but don't let those comments prevent you from visiting the store yourself - I'm glad I didn't.

Nice staff and cute items, but return process is unhinged - if you bought online, you have to submit an request to return, then wait a 3-5 days for the returns team to authorize it, then you receive an approval document, then (if you select in store return) you have to fill out all the same information a second time on a piece of duplicate paper (so unnecessarily WASTEFUL), and then you have to wait a week or so while the store ships it to another location for processing. Come on, we are in 2024, not the 80s. If other companies can process same day returns of online-purchased goods without the need of so much wasted time and resources, surely Catbird can figure it out too. Definitely makes me reconsider before buying from them in the future.

After initially receiving an email containing an error message instead of an e-gift card, the gift card eventually arrived four hours later along with a 15% off coupon. I'm still a bit hesitant about Catbird after my experiences and the other reviews I've seen on here, but I'm willing to give this brand another shot.

The band Catbird sent me looks nothing like the photos on the website. Most of the time I would let something like this go and just enjoy it for what it is, but this is my *wedding ring* that I will be wearing forever and I am extremely disappointed it isn't what Catbird led me to believe based on the photos. I've gone back-and-forth with their customer service about this with EXTREMELY detailed evidence, but they continue to gaslight me and stated they are not going to accept a return. There is a huge difference between the beautiful craftsmanship displayed on the listing and the obvious laziness and complete lack of quality in the ring I received. I ordered a ring with stars and received a ring with Xs. I did NOT order a treasure map for my wedding ring and I will not accept their agents attempting to downplay the issue that I have very clearly explained with visual and detailed proof. I understand them saying each ring is "one of a kind", but nowhere on the listing does it say the ring I receive will look nothing like the listing at all. There is not a single ring on either listing that looks like the one I received. I wanted a variation on a specific scheme, not a whole different visual design. Entire advertised design elements being missing is tantamount to fraud. It's a whole different concept. And furthermore, what is the point of the zodiac illustrations on the listing if the rings are going to just be decorated randomly? Based on my two combined signs, Scorpio and Aries, there is only the possibility of having ONE X and multiple asterisks. You certainly shouldn't have MORE Xs than the design calls for. I can't believe Catbird would just sell some "random" ring in place of the one pictured. For those prices, you really need to take individual pictures of each ring if they are going to be THAT different. I understand them being somewhat different, but the shaping is entirely different, it's not domed at all, they just used thick rectangle wire for my actual one. I know this is long winded, but I am hoping you can avoid the same fate! Save your money or use it somewhere where they care about their customer. Please see my emails with customer service and attached photos with annotations.

I ordered jewelry from Catbird and it was the worst experience you can imagine. I paid for overnight shipping. The merchandise never arrived. Catbird doesn't include shipping info to track orders, their customer service number just says they aren't available and hangs up on you, their email service takes days to get a response, and the chat assistant responded with cryptic messages like "You must do whatever you think is best." I ultimately had to engage my credit card to get it rectified. I know people who have liked their purchases, but you're taking a huge risk here.

I rarely ever write reviews, but I feel the need to warn people about Catbird - super rude staff on multiple occasions, even after we gave them the benefit of the doubt! My boyfriend and I went in here twice and both times, the staff constantly rolled their eyes as if they didn't want to be there. The first time, we thought maybe it was an off day. After all, the store was crowded and we were walk-ins. We were friendly to the woman who helped us, and tried to make her feel more comfortable. She warmed up a little as she was helping us, but she didn't seem to know much about the jewelry itself. And now that I think about it, why is the customer making the staff feel more at ease? In addition to that, she said she'd send a follow up email, but we never received it.The second time, my boyfriend went in on Friday at 2pm. He walked in, and the staff said, "exCUSE me!" As if he was intruding, and told him they were closed. Their hours on the door said otherwise, and the door was open. He said he just had a quick question, and they answered his question briefly and told him he could find it on their website. If you absolutely love their designs, get their ready-made on their website to save you a bad in-person experience, but I personally didn't want to give them business after we gave them multiple chances. So many other cool, friendly jewelers around NYC who are actually passionate about their pieces!
