I'm into plant shopping at the moment. It's nice to live in such a hipster area and have many garden places to enjoy. They have huge plant pot collection from small to giant, Indoor and outdoor plants. The big difference from another garden place is they have big house plants like Rubble plant, Bird of Paradise, over 15 years of jade plant, etc.

Dawn brought my orchid back to life!!! I love going to the Chelsea Garden Center because the staff is incredibly knowledgeable & helpful. I brought in a very dry orchid to be repotted, Dawn rescued it from the brink of death and it is now sporting two new leaves!I am super pleased with the service I’ve received here and will continue to pop in any time I need gardening advice or am looking to purchase a new plant for my home.

I purchased one plant from this place in late January. I have an extensive plant collection, and within a few months I was dealing with the nastiest pest (scale) infestation I have ever seen. I had to throw away over half of the plants in my collection, which was heartbreaking. I know the pests came from this store because my girlfriend also bought a plant, and she ended up with the same type of pest infestation. This was really upsetting. Please check the plants you buy from here very thoroughly before you put them near any existing plants.

Indoor part is a bit small, I definitely appreciated the variety of plants. If you take your time and search you can get some really great steals price wise. I saw a few plants that needed a little tender care, but overall this is a good plant store and experience, the employees were very nice, warm and welcoming. I'll be back in the summer and maybe this rating can go up.

Fantastic variety of both houseplants, perennial and annuals, ornamentals and veggies! Came today to get tomatoes, herbs, lettuces and flowers and was delighted by the variety! The staff were so friendly and helpful as well- constantly checking in so I could ask questions and get their advice.

Jordan, thank you for these beautiful NewGen Boxwoods. This small business provides exceptional customer service for the crew that they have. Do not expect accurate inventory or prompt service. I went in person and saw other boxwoods that i liked more than the ones I ordered from the website.

Friendly folk with lots of plants. We bought a jade phothos (pictured) for $40. Is that a good price? I have no idea!

I went here last weekend looking to buy some ferns for my apartment. The shop was clean and the plants looked green and healthy. I even ended up leaving with a beautiful ficus that the sales rep recommended. I'll definitely be back in the future when I'm ready to add some more green into my life.

I purchased a Jade Pothos plant in a hanging basket from the Williamsburg location. Within a week the plant was limp, its leaves were yellowing and had developed brown spots, and it was covered in what appeared to be lint. Upon further inspection (and the help of Google), it became apparent the plant was infested with mealy bugs. There are no other plants in my home and based on the severity of the infestation only a week after purchase it’s clear the bugs must have come from the store. The garden center offered no help and doesn’t have any guarantee on the health of the plants they sell. For the premium prices they are charging on plants, their complete lack of customer service is disappointing. My advice is to save money (and a headache) by purchasing your new plant friends elsewhere. I certainly will be.

WARNING... I rarely write reviews online, but I was motivated to write this because Chelsea Garden Center gave me the most baffling customer service experience I've ever had in my life. They designed the rooftop garden at my apartment and used to maintain it when the previous owner lived here. After I moved in, I reached out to them to re-hire them to keep maintaining the garden. The president, David Protell, responded and dispatched one of their employees to my house to look at the garden and give me an estimate. The employee, Bob Reitmeyer, came over to my house and looked at the garden, and we chatted for about 45 minutes. He said he'd follow up with the estimate, but never did. After a couple months, I texted him to follow up, and he said he'd been busy and would get back to me ASAP -- again, but never did. I then texted and emailed both David and Bob (and a couple other employees) multiple times to find out what was going on, but not one of them responded -- total radio silence. I made inquiries on their Facebook and Instagram accounts too, and same thing -- total radio silence. I might understand this cold-shoulder treatment if I had been rude to anyone or made crazy demands of them, but I was totally polite, and just wanted to give them my money to do routine maintenance of the garden that they themselves had created and used to maintain for my apartment's previous owner. I've never had a business treat me this way before, and I'm at an absolute loss to understand how they stay in business if this is how they operate. Hire them at your own risk.

Both the fig tree and succulent I got from them at different times turned out to be in bad condition and sick. The succulent had red mites all over it and half of its leaves fell off in a week, also risking contaminating my other plants. When I called to get a replacement plant or a refund their reply was to suggest that they can give advice for treating mites.Given that they are selling nearly all plants at almost double prices than many competitors I would expect that the plants would be in good condition or that they would replace sick plants. Had so much better experiences with the Sill etc in this regard.I won’t be going back again.

Fantastic. Really great nursery with a fairly wide selection considering it’s in the city. Their prices were much more competitive then others I found in the city.Gerald went well above and beyond to educate me and help guide my selections for a rooftop project. He was super responsive over email, ensured we stayed in my budget and shared tips for the garden. Everything was packaged up perfectly for an XL ride homeReally can’t say enough about the service provided.
