Walk in and you're welcomed like family, not just hey ,more like hi fam ,come let me feed you vibe. The guys there are so warm and friendly it's very refreshing to dine in that type of company. We've been there multi times and the service and food quality is consistent. Small shop with a few counter seats , but we like to sit when we can and chat with the guys. This place has a connection to the community. The sandwiches are named after various parts of Brooklyn. They will also make any combinations you like. Meat and cheese quality excellent. Veggies and toppings fresh. The bread- it's very special. Shop is clean and evident of their A code rating. Some people say it's NY and you can get sandwiches like that anywhere. That may be true but you know what's also abundant? - Rude and lukewarm staff. For me dining is an entire experience especially at the cost of it today. You can have the best food but be treated like your patronage is not appreciated . I'm definitely not supporting any business like that. I'm spending my hard earned coins where I feel very comfortable and basic human decency is extended. I'll eat with these amigos any given day. Personal favorites - The Verrazono Douglas Street The Cyclone

If i could give them 100 stars, i would!! From the moment I entered I could tell it was going to be amazing food....and they didn't disappoint!! I've traveled across the US and Japan, and I can say this is the best sandwich I've had to date. Quality products, top notch staff, and family friendly environment.

Tbh the sandwich was fine. But the prices are shocking. I paid $20 for a medium sized turkey ham and cheese sandwich. That’s right. $20 for processed ham and cheese. That’s it. Save your money and go to bagel pub.

Been going to this shop for years when they were on Bergen. The sandwich quality is the same. Nickel and diming is getting worse over time. The prices are insane. Rarely go here anymore unless I'm desperate for a sandwich.

City Subs is an excellent option for a quality sub. The bread is high-quality, the meats, cheeses, and vegetables are fresh and made-to-order, and the selection is top-notch. The service is also excellent. Highly recommend going here.

An absolute neighborhood treasure! People move because of these sandwiches. What makes City Subs so special? The bread, the people and the history. If you get there after they run out of bread, that's on you. Hot and toasted is all you really need to know, but however you dream up your perfect sandwich, the hard-working people behind the counter will bring your vision to reality. Sometimes when making condiment decisions, you might need to think for a second. Extend the courtesy to your fellow sandwichist that you wish extended to you. Back in the day, on Bergen Street, the line could make you think you were at a TSA checkpoint. At the 5th avenue location, the wait is simply easy and worth it. There is a bench, a flatscreen and music on the speakers. While you can't control everything in life, you can get a great sandwich, if you know the right spot.

This place is truly amazing . It's a staple to north park slope for years and the best sub around . The bread is light fresh and toasted . The meat and cheeses are fresh and the combos for sandwiches are perfection. It's a must try. It's also totally worth the price . The owner Thomas is a great guy who worked at city subs since 15 and took over as owner when the first guy retired . He runs it like a local family business . They also donate to our local block party .
