Great neighborhood theater. The intro to the movies has a great 80s vibe. Saw Adam Driver there, "we" saw Once upon a time in Hollywood

Stole our leftovers from dinner after saying that we would be able to get them back after the movie. Extremely rude and disrespectful to eat/throw away someone’s expensive leftovers despite confirming that they would be there waiting for us after the film. The staff definitely just stole them. So be warned they will go through your bags and take everything so if you have any food on you hide it like you would drugs in an airport because they might pull you to the side for a strip search and if you read other reviews they use similar racial profiling. Check the reviews they have so many 1/2 stars it’s almost a conspiracy they are rated above a 4

Small intimate theater with a good small town feel. Prices were reasonable, and beverage sizes aren't the traditional movie theater obnoxious over-sized! I appreciated the option for adult beverages should the mood call for one and really liked the option of hot beverages as it was an especially cold day in NYC.Bathrooms are tiny but clean! No ramp accessibility nor any lifts, so be prepared to take the stairs to your designated theater. All in all, my family and I would return again.

The upstairs theater has air conditioning in the middle of winter. Had to leave the theater multiple times to warm up. Everyone at my screening was BUNDLED up. Plus, the image quality is poor. They need to update the screens. They closed a couple of years ago for renovations. The complaints still keep pouring in for them. Wish the experience were better but perhaps the owners rely on “beggars can’t be choosers” regarding repairs.

I encountered cobble hill theatre when I bought my niece to see the Beyoncé’s Renaissance film. I enjoyed the quaint atmosphere and nostalgic feel. I enjoyed myself so much so that I decided to purchase myself two tickets for Christmas Day with the first show being, “The Color Purple”. I purchased a ticket for the first show which started at 12 PM. This is what I noticed: the crowd was predominantly Black. The person taking the tickets asked everyone coming in to open their bags. Now this would have been “standard” but as I got back on line to see the 2:40 Willie Wonka film, with a predominantly White crowd, the same person at the door, no longer decided to “check bags” (many of the White patrons entered with bags similar in size as the Black patrons that entered just a few hours prior). This has to be checked and bought to the public’s attention!12/31/23: This is an update to the review that was left on 12/25/23. I did receive a response which basically said that the reason the patrons for the other viewings bags were not checked was because there was one person at the door and there was a much larger crowd. I’d like to be fair. Yes there was a slightly larger crowd however, that does not change “policy”. If the bags were checked for one particular group, they should be checked for all. The policy does not change because of a slightly larger crowd. Tot appears as if this is the case of an unconscious bias.

The best part of this theatre is the staff and service. It emotes a family atmosphere and provides the old experience of going to a cinema. We love it there, and it will always be our go-to place for family entertainment.

I've been going here for 30 years and love it but the website to buy tickets is terrible. I had to use Fandango.

I love this neighborhood cinema. It's local, what's not to like about that. Artsy. Clean nice screen size.
