UPDATE: 09/10/25
Updating again after only 7 months: I received yet another notice in August that my rate would increase; this increase is again being imposed even before I have had the unit for a year! I wrote to the staff for more information (and help), particularly in light of our past exchange on this precise issue. Nicole responded quickly stating that while the amount of the increase could be refunded until my lease reached the one-year mark, I should expect rate increases going forward. She and Simone have again been super helpful. Nevertheless, this latest increase is going to be difficult to absorb, but I am not in position to move my things to another storage location at this time. I am essentially stuck. I find myself wondering again how others can continue to absorb repeated increases and manage the costs in the long term. I re-read online reviews by those with similar experiences – some of whom have deemed these rate hike practices abusive and exploitative. It is a shame because the staff is great and very professional, for which I am extremely appreciative. But I can only warn potential renters to take careful note. You may find yourself drawn in by the initial low prices, but once in, you will face rate hikes with no recourse. And you may find yourself trapped if you are not immediately able to afford the time, effort and cost to move out.
I have had no problems so far and the staff have been consistently helpful. However, I just rented my storage unit in late October and was informed by mail in late December (only a mere two months later), that the monthly rent would increase quite significantly - by $40 a month. The annual increase and cost will just be too prohibitive. In speaking to the staff, I was subsequently informed that I should expect a rate hike annually going forward. I wonder how long-term customers - similar to those that provided reviews on this site - are able to continue storage with this particular company at this location when these costs continue to increase by such amounts! Reading various online reviews, I see this seems to be a specific practice of this company. I am curious if others have had a similar experience? I will now have to find a more affordable option and move everything out - no easy feat for a single person with a young child.
UPDATE: the manager of the location contacted me personally. I was shocked that she did that and worked to resolve the issue entirely. Amazing customer service! Though now upon reflection, it makes me wonder how rate policies are set and implemented. But truly, the manager was amazing.

Nicole was amazing. She did so much to ensure that my process was smooth. She even helped me make sure that I was able to get into the elevator to go up and down. She walked me through the entire process. She was extremely nice and helped me understand better how I could use the storage facility in the future.
The customer service there is helpful. Nicole even called me to help me out and make sure I had everything ready for when I was moving my stuff in. I would recommend this CubeSmart location because of the excellent customer service.

great experience at cube smart. Nicole reviewed the different size options and helped me the select the best one for my belongings. moving is stressful but Nicole’s friendly energy made this part of the process seamless.

I liked that the location was close to where I live. I was able to get my personal belongings to my storage unit conveniently. Although I had to leave, I appreciate the security and care they've given my things for more that 7 years.

For the most part this facility is clean and well maintained, although there is a fly problem. The staff are great and helpful. But they lose one star for their rates, which have gone up nearly 50% for my unit in just a few years, while at the same time they cut the hours back, so they lose another star for that. They're only open 9:30-6pm M-F. Thats when people work. I literally was never able to go to my unit during the work week. All their competitors in the area have better hours. Not sure how you can have a self-storage business that's not open when people are free to access it.

I initially came to CubeSmart on May 24th to inquired about a storage space. The minute I walked in I was greeted with a kind hello from Nicole. I explained what I was looking for and Nicole immediately took me around to see some space. If you've ever needed to acquire a storage unit then you can understand how frustrating it can be. Nicole was very patient understandable and very gracious. She answered my questions and concerns with assurity. Thank you to Nicole and the entire staff for their excellent Customer Support, Tyrese and Duane.

I always enjoyed walking into my storage unit. It's sort of calm and peaceful up there. The person who called me on the phone today was really nice. I'd recommend CubeSmart if your apartment is small and you need to stash your stuff somewhere.

Rubi was exceptional today, I came in to rent a storage locker and she went above and beyond in her customer service care. I am beyond satisfied with her service. Moving can be so frustrating, but Rubi made our day! I hope she is acknowledged for her wonderful customer service skills.
