They wouldn’t let me open a savings account and deposit bonds that I got from when I was born. My ID is in Williamsburg and my name and matched the bonds. The lady said that “she was trying to retire and stay out of trouble.” It was overall a very strange experience. I never had a bank turn away money… She actually wanted me to close my Chase account to sign up with them and I told them I would. She refused to open an account. Went to Chase and had no problem. So much for trying to bank local.

While the people working at the branch are fine and professional, god forbid anything ever goes wrong and you need to use the customer service number. Absolutely awful. I was on hold forever, then they hung up on me! Then I was on hold for another hour again and they couldn't help me and when I got through by some miracle, the worker was incredibly rude and had an attitude. Maybe I am lucky but I never had such issues with even getting through to someone at any other banks. I 100% regret opening an account with dime.

Been a customer since early 1973 , they merged and don't care about the regular people any more. Don't open any accounts. Withdraw you funds.

Do NOT use this bank. We had accounts w/ them for years but when we bought a new car they wouldn't transfer our money to the dealerships acct. We had to drive back to BK for a cashiers check. (At this point we were living upstate). When we initially set up the free checking account we had over draft protection. On the app it had said something about them merging w/ another bank, that we would receive new debit cards, etc. It said NOTHING about any changes to our accounts that we only set up because of the terms of the acct at that time of original setup. We get the new debit cards, had an issue with a refund not being available so we figured it's no big deal, we have overdraft protection so we will just take what we need & next deposit pay it back w/ the fee. But it didn't go through. We call the bank, explained what happened, was put in hold for almost 20 mins to be told they did away w/ overdraft protection when they merged. We asked why weren't we notified about these changes? And we were told they "sent out booklets to all their customers ". I said no you didn't, we didn't receive anything about anything. We wouldn't have even known we were being issued new debit cards & that our current cards ( the ones we had previously) wouldn't work on April 19th, 2021 if we didn't happen to read that on the banks app (which we hardly use) We no longer bank w/ them. Customer service is a joke, common sense is far from common it's basically non existent in that bank.

I don't know how to start this review, I just want everybody to know before anybody decide to do business with Dime Bank think it twice. What to expect from this bank the worse costumer service you can imagine. they charge you money for everything you do at any of the branches, they charge me 2$ dollars for one peace of paper . and that's not the worse from the cashier to the manager is like no ones know what theydoing , so I chose this bank to do business transaction with my company because I thought it may be convenient because it was close to my work place , big mistake last Friday I went to withdraw a cashiers check from the branch at 281 Broadway in Williamsburg, I give all my information, my debit card, and the name to whom I want the check to be may payable, everything of fine until I got the check in my hand, the check was empty the only information the print in the check was the name of the company the check of payable to. I mean really? so I complain and they told me that the system was down , fine , I'm comeback today to fix the check , so the cashier call the manager , who doesn't know what to do , so he calls another manager who come a tell me the I have to pay another 10$ to fix the check and that all the others banks print the checks the same way , so I show her 4 different checks from others banks , it just common sense the a cashier check has to have the the name of the person who's sending the check , to whom it going to be payable, a memo space , the account or check ind , and the branch inf. I hope with this review I can call the attention of the any manager of Dime Bank who supervise the branches to take action to correct the behavior of the manger of 281 Broadway Dime bank MARLENE BRUCE IF THATS HER REAL NAME , unprofessional, she has no knowledge of how to treat a costumer, arrogant personality.

Since they’ve moved from Havemeyer Street to Broadway their customer service is horrible wait, even waiting on line is horrible. ATM machine IS definitely NOT secure don’t want to mention on here but BEWARE of the scams that go through their ATM machine at this location. I can’t speak for other locations. Their services were much better in my opinion at Havemeyer. Their suppose upgrade in services Vision Plus and suppose bank experience is by far horrible. With all these stupid changes they’ve done and it’s NOT to better the experience because it’s terrible. Their Dime App was better, their Old location was better, the lines inside were better, the parking was better. Overall, everything used to be better-Period. Why fix something that was never broken!?!

Please avoid this bank at all cost. My bank card got stolen and this stupid establishment told me they couldn't help me. You're better off at another community bank or go the commercial route.

I think people don’t realize how wonderful it is to bank locally, to feel that community driven banking exists. Gail, our bank manager, has been more than present, professional, insightful. She makes us feel so comfortable and welcome. We are so happy to bank with Dime!
