I've been to many hair salons where the hair stylists doesn't care about their customers and Eka is NOT one of them. The Salon, while small in size makes every customer feel important and loved. The atmosphere is amazing and the hairstylist cares about her job and is very knowledgeable about her craft, she takes pride in her work and it shows. This shop has been in the neighborhood for years and has been an amazing addition to the area. I have recommended so many of my friends/family here and the allllll love it just as much as me.

Been getting my hair done at Eka Hair Studio for some years now and I must say I always walk out more than satisfied. The hair stylist is very passionate about her work and provides her customers with the knowledge they need to take care of their hair.

About four years ago, I was walking home with my 3 year old daughter. She, with a pained look on her face, informed me that she had to "go really bad," and at that point, we were about a 15 minute walk from home. I looked around frantically for a place to quickly duck into to let my toddler relieve herself. Up ahead, I saw the Eka Hair Studio awning. I rushed in, with a visibly uncomfortable toddler in tow who was now doing the "pee pee" dance. I saw a beautician working on a customer's hair, and I frantically said, "Please, is it okay if my daughter uses your restroom?" And she stopped and stared at me for a few seconds, which I imagined felt like an eternity to my daughter, who was now starting to whimper and spin in circles. The beautician said to me, coldly, "the sign says the restroom is only for customers." I said, "please, she is having an emergency." The woman simply repeated, "the restroom is for customers only." Since I had no intention of getting a hairstyling at that moment, we were forced to simply walk out. I never forgot this incident. I relayed the incident to my Facebook friends, who were appalled. While I understand the policy, it seemed cruel to look a child in the face and deny them the most basic human dignity. I will NEVER, EVER, get my hair styled here. Many of my Facebook friends live in Bed-Stuy and have vowed never to visit this salon either. I hope my post went viral and showcases just how callous some humans can be.
