I’m leaving a 5-star review because, at the end of the day, the work was excellent, the price was fair, and every person we interacted with was kind and professional. We did encounter some communication issues along the way, but the quality of the final product and the courtesy of the team truly stood out.
We contracted Gaudioso for renovations on our new home in early March. We received a thorough, detailed quote very quickly, and the overall professionalism at the start was impressive. Shortly afterward, our HVAC system unexpectedly broke, and we needed to pause our original plans. Gaudioso was patient and kept in touch appropriately while we figured things out. When we changed the scope a month later and asked for help with the HVAC, they sent someone out immediately, which we really appreciated.
Up to this point, our experience had been fantastic. Where things became challenging was in receiving the updated estimate. For several understandable reasons: questions about whether the HVAC needed full replacement and someone being out on vacation—the quote was delayed. However, it was still very stressful to have to follow up multiple times, especially as the project stretched into the summer when we urgently needed AC. We also felt unsettled on the first day of work when the project manager, who had been to our home previously, seemed unclear about the details of the project. It made us concerned about how this project would go. Additionally, despite several requests to make my husband the primary contact (and even setting up a group text), communication continued to go only to me, which was frustrating.
Once the work actually began, though, everything went smoothly. The workers who came to the house were consistently kind, respectful, and tidy. They did a wonderful job on both the bathroom and the HVAC. After the initial hiccups, the project manager’s communication improved significantly when it came to decisions about shower doors, tile, and other details. There were still a few moments where communication could have been clearer, but things ultimately worked out well.
Overall, we’re very happy with the final result and with the professionalism of the team once the project was underway. Gaudioso is a great company with skilled, courteous workers, and with a few improvements to communication and project coordination, the experience could be even better. We would work with them again.

Travis and his team did an exceptional job renovating my apartment. It was almost a complete gut, including a new kitchen, new flooring, new cabinetry, new doors, upgraded electrical, and painting. When issues arose, as they always do, Gaudioso came up with great solutions and recommendations. Travis and his team were a pleasure to work with and had great integrity. The resulting product is beautiful, and I love it! Even my super, who has seen a lot of renovations and worked with a lot of contractors, was extremely impressed with the quality of their work and said it was the best he's seen. I would highly recommend them to others.

For more than 20 years, nearly as long as I have had an architectural office in NYC, I have worked with Anthony Gaudioso and his team. Anthony runs his business with the same integrity, care and professionalism as the person he is. He is a hardworking, honest contractor and demands the same from his team.
Gaudioso provides accurate estimates, communicates potential challenges, and offers realistic timelines, which when compared to contractors with less integrity, may seem more costly, but Anthony accurately prepares for the job instead of giving an unrealistic estimate and making up for it with change orders and extras.
I have no hesitation in recommending Gaudioso Contracting for any construction work. There is a lot that can go wrong with construction projects in NYC, hiring Gaudioso Contracting will not be one of them.

I am Christina Weppner, founder of Weppner Architects PLLC. I am an experienced licensed architect, a Pratt graduate, and have worked in the NYC area for over 25 years.
I have worked with Gaudioso Contracting on several successful projects.
One of the first jobs we worked on together was when Anthony Gaudioso’s team rebuilt the street facade of a row house in BedStuy, Brooklyn, for me.
His guys first got to the bottom of what had been done incorrectly by the previous cheapo contractor. They removed the mistakes. Then Anthony’s guys then rebuilt the whole street facade, waterproofing it thoroughly, (and repairing the fairly extensive inside water damage).
In reconstructing the finish facade, which required the application of stucco as a faux-brownstone, they provided color samples of the stucco finish, and color samples of the window color, for the Landmarks inspector’s approval.
As part of the process, they built up the elegant window and entry door surround details to satisfy the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
They also brought in Adler Windows to replace all the water-damaged, crumbling, wooden double-hung windows with new thermal paned, powder coated, aluminum windows with appropriate brick molding to satisfy the Landmarks inspector.
They also built and installed a replica of the neighboring brownstone’s cornice which Landmarks approved.
Their work was terrific. Each phase of the work moved smoothly and had expertly skilled craftsmen. They were on time and on budget.
I was delighted with their professionalism.

I’ve been a long time satisfied Gaudioso Contracting client for more than a decade.
In 2012 they helped repair my flooded basement. More recently they painted inside and outside of my house, built a new yard deck, installed a fence and did some kitchen improvements. Their cost estimates are reasonable and accurate. I would recommend them for any home improvement or repair.

We had a very positive experience working with Gaudioso on our studio renovation. Where there were hiccups on their end, they were quick to communicate and fix things. Where there were hiccups on our end, they were gracious.
We particularly liked that they understood our goals for the space, including the limits to what we wanted done. We would absolutely trust them with another job.

I am an architect in NYC, and Gaudioso Contracting is one of my go-to contractors. I love working with them. Excellent work all around, keeps job site clean, stay true to my design, and always run things by me before proceeding, what more can an architect ask for! They are also very careful and respectful to clients' spaces and privacy, and protect any existing conditions that needs to remain. Fair pricing. They stay on schedule, any delays were things that weren't in their control, like materials outage or delays. On projects that I have used Gaudioso Contracting, the clients were also very satisfied with their work and services as well. That's what you want: do a renovation project, go through all the pain of construction, and come out on the other end, happy all around. Gaudioso Contracting can deliver that for you!
